JONAS Olsson believes Albion have built a solid platform to launch their 2011/12 Barclays Premier League campaign from against champions Manchester United on Sunday (ko 4pm).

The giant centre-half is pleased with the progress the Baggies have made in what he classes as the toughest pre-season during his time at the club.

And he is hoping his team-mates can match the start they had to last term when they were riding high in fourth place after nine games, with 15 points to their name.
"We've trained hard and played some good teams," said Olsson, who is currently away on international duty with Sweden for tomorrow's friendly against Ukraine in Kharkov.

"In the three seasons I've been here, Parma and Olympiacos are among the best teams we've played, along with those in America.
"We've also had some good results along the way.
"We have in mind the nice start we had last season - apart from Chelsea obviously - so we go in with confidence.

"United is a tough game but we did well against them last year, we got a point at Old Trafford, so we look forward to it.
"We are as ready as we can be."

Olsson feels new signings Billy Jones and Gareth McAuley have adapted well to life at The Hawthorns. And he has been particularly impressed by loan star Ben Foster, who he played in front of in the 1-0 win at Bristol City and Sunday's 1-1 draw with Parma.
"The players we have signed have done well, integrated well too," he added.

"Ben is very solid.
"He played very well in his first game against Bristol and made some good saves.
"He's demanding of the back-four, very experienced from being at Manchester United and his time at Birmingham - and he will do well here.

"He's a good guy, he's been here almost two weeks but it feels like longer than that.
"He's settled in very well with the team.
"It feels good to have him around.
"He kept quite a few clean sheets last year.
"I enjoyed playing with Scott Carson but now he's gone, Ben is here, and he's impressed us a lot.
"The record he had last year of nine clean sheets was very good.
"I look forward to playing with him and the more we do the better understanding we will have."

Match perdana UNITED di season 2011/2012 bakal jadi duel yang cukup berat, WBA satu-satunya team yang berhasil mencuri 1 point di Old Trafford, selain itu disikat 3 point..,
debut buat De Gea, Young, dkk .. pengen liat welbeck lagi! speed nya itu dan visi permainannya makin matang,sayang aja kmrin di community shield kurang beruntung, atau juga Nani yang mudah-mudahan jadi musimnya dia kali inim selain musim lalu tampil cemerlang dgn goal dan assistnya :-) atau muncul seorang Dimitar Berbatov top score musim lalu.. hmm menarik disimak!!
