Saatnya istirahat untuk pemain2 inti supaya tidak ada ancaman cedera di pertandingan tengah pekan ini..
Berharap Luke Shaw dimainkan.

Di atas kertas sih seharusnya United tidak menghadapi kendali menghadapi klub ini namun sebaiknya tetap waspada dan tidak menganggap enteng siapapun lawan yang dihadapi. Kemungkinan sih pemain lapis kedua seperti Romero, Youngdan beberapa pemain muda bakal ditampilkan bersama pemain utama. Prediksi saya United menang 2-0 :)

PREVIEW: MANCHESTER UNITED V BURTON ALBION

Setting the scene... The Reds need little introduction to the Football League Cup, having lifted the trophy last season with a memorable 3-2 win over Southampton at Wembley. But there's a new name for the competition, the Carabao Cup, as United's defence of the silverware begins with a home tie on Wednesday night against Championship outfit Burton Albion. The Brewers have started the campaign with a set of mixed results and currently sit 19th in the second tier; however, Nigel Clough's side have saved their best form for the cup thus far, and have beaten both Oldham Athletic and Cardiff City to reach this stage. United are undoubtedly favourites going into this game, having claimed a huge 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday, to boost the Premier League points tally to 13 from a possible 15.

How can I watch it? The game kicks off at 20:00 BST and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK. Subscribers of MUTV on Sky or Virgin Media, the club's MUTV app or online at mutv.com will be able to watch build-up from 18:00 BST on the Match Day show and listen to radio commentary of the game before watching it in full from midnight. You can also keep up with all the action as it happens via ManUtd.com's live match blog and by following our official Twitter account @ManUtd.

Got any team news? Given the depth of United's squad, it is likely that Jose Mourinho will field a strong side to face Burton, despite already confirming that David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic will all be rested. Three other players who will not feature for the Reds are Paul Pogba, who picked up a hamstring injury last week against FC Basel, Marcos Rojo, who continues his recovery from a knee injury, and Axel Tuanzebe, who is ruled out with a back problem. For the visitors, summer signing Liam Boyce will once again be sidelined, deadline-day arrival John Brayford is unavailable due to being cup-tied, but recent absentees Hope Akpan and Matty Palmer could be in line to make a return to action.

How have Burton started the season? Following back-to-back promotions, the Brewers struggled in their first-ever season in the Championship last term and avoided the drop by just one point. However, despite a poor start to the 2017/18 campaign, there are signs that Burton are on the up in recent weeks. Clough brought 12 fresh faces to the Pirelli Stadium this summer and they may just be starting to gel as, although his side lost their opening three Championship matches, they have since claimed eight points from a possible 15. The run includes a 2-1 win over promotion-chasing Fulham on Saturday, which Clough described as arguably their best result since their promotion to the second tier, and a hard-fought away draw at Norwich City the week before. The sequence has enabled the East Midlands club to climb out of the relegation zone, buoyed by their impressive Carabao Cup run.

Have we met before? The third-round match will mark only the third time United have faced Burton in a competitive fixture, having only previously faced off in one FA Cup third-round tie and in the subsequent replay in January 2006. The Brewers, then a non-league team playing in the Conference, earned an impressive 0-0 draw at the Pirelli, despite the Reds' second-half introductions of Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney. However, Burton were not so resolute in the replay, as Sir Alex Ferguson's side brushed them aside to run out 5-0 winners at the Theatre of Dreams, courtesy of goals from Louis Saha, Kieran Richardson, Ryan Giggs and, scoring twice, Giuseppe Rossi.

Who is the referee? Graham Scott will take charge of his first-ever United match on Wednesday night. The 49-year-old from Oxfordshire has overseen two Premier League games so far this season - Watford's goalless draw with Brighton and Tottenham's 3-0 win at Everton. He will be assisted by Richard West and Adrian Holmes, with Mike Dean on fourth official duties.

Rivals watch... There are 15 other third-round ties taking place this week, with the draw for the fourth round set to take place immediately after United's tie on Wednesday night.

UNITED TEAM NEWS FOR BURTON CUP TIE

Axel Tuanzebe is set to miss Manchester United's Carabao Cup tie with Burton Albion and Reds manager Jose Mourinho has revealed four players have been rested ahead of Wednesday's clash at Old Trafford.

Promising teenager Tuanzebe is out with a back problem, while David De Gea, Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly and Nemanja Matic will be handed a night off.

"I gave two days off only to four players," revealed the boss. "Apart from that, everybody is selected. Do you want to know which four? De Gea, Valencia, Matic and Bailly."

When asked if he is taking the competition, which the Reds won last season with a 3-2 triumph over Southampton at Wembley, seriously, he replied: "Oh, yes. Serious. Because it's football, it's competition. We take it seriously.

"Of course, we're not playing David or Bailly but, if we go to the next round, probably these guys will play and I will give a rest to others. Our squad is good.

"We don't have 30 players, we have what we have, and a couple of injuries right now with Paul Pogba and Axel Tuanzebe. So we need some of the players that played on Sunday to play and we need some to be on the bench.

"We need to be with a strong team. I know the quality of the Championship and I know, if we don't take the game seriously, we are going to lose."

Tuanzebe, meanwhile, is hoping the injury does not keep him out for too long as he bids to impress the manager over the course of the campaign.

"I've been struggling with my back, but the rehab's going well and, behind the scenes, everyone is doing a good job," he told ManUtd.com.

Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Burton Albion

Manchester United draw was the 'most important' result in Burton Albion's history... it brought the chairman to tears, reveals Nigel Clough

* Nigel Clough recalls the night Burton held Manchester United to a 0-0 draw
* The amateur side earned a lucrative FA Cup replay at Old Trafford in 2006
* The £800,000 windfall allowed the club to pay off their stadium debts and invest
* Clough has taken them to the Championship but a financial chasm remains

Nigel Clough has revealed the tears of his chairman the last time Burton Albion came up against Manchester United, in a tie he described as the ‘most important’ moment in the club’s history.

Against all odds, Burton held United to an FA Cup draw in January 2006, earning a replay at Old Trafford and a windfall of around £800,000, which altered the future for the then non-league side.

Burton were able to pay off the overspend on the newly built Pirelli Stadium as well as invest in a playing squad that has since risen remarkably.

Clough said chairman Ben Robinson was overcome with emotion at the final whistle of the first game and both men are in place again for another trip to United, with Burton having gone from amateurs to the Championship in the intervening 11 years.

‘Getting the replay is singularly the most important development in the rise of the club,’ said Clough. ‘We needed a new stadium, but it was a big risk. It went over budget and we got Man United at the absolute perfect time.

'The initial game wouldn’t have been enough. It was the replay that made the difference and we’ve been debt-free ever since.’

The amateur side held Sir Alex Ferguson's great United side to earn a lucrative FA Cup replay

Robinson’s reaction when referee Howard Webb signalled full-time on the 0-0 result spoke volumes.

‘He was in tears, seriously, he was crying,’ said Clough. ‘Such was the whole emotion of the day. He knew what getting that replay meant going forward. It was just a massive amount of money for a non-league club.’

The importance of the draw, rather than victory, was not lost on Robinson.

‘We nearly got a penalty at the end when Gerard Pique handled it. Our chairman has seen Howard Webb since and Howard says, "I think it might have been a penalty". Our chairman says, "It definitely wasn’t!"

‘My outstanding memory of that first game is when United brought on Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo after 59 minutes. We faced up to them for 30 minutes and survived.

‘Our players were part-time, doing all sorts. Darren Stride, our captain, was a builder. Darren Tinson, the centre-half, was doing fitness work.’

More than 100 places separated the clubs back then, but after three promotions by Burton plus a courageous survival last season, the gap is down to 37 positions. But the financial chasm has opened.

While United spent £75million on Romelu Lukaku this summer, Burton broke their transfer record by spending £500,000 on striker Liam Boyce, who is out injured for the season.

Clough will meet Jose Mourinho for the first time, having only previously spoken to the Portuguese on the phone, for a book on Nottingham Forest called, ‘I Believe in Miracles’. Mourinho wrote the foreword, revealing his admiration for Clough’s father Brian.

Their FA Cup replay at Old Trafford transformed the club's fortunes, earning them £800,000. The money was used to invest in a playing squad and pay off their new stadium

‘I’m looking forward to meeting him,’ said Clough, who sees similarities between his dad and the current United manager. ‘They deal with things in such a no-nonsense manner.

‘It’s black or it’s white, if a player does the job for him he has him in, and if he doesn’t that’s it. The way he deals with the press, there are similarities there. But he’s just no-nonsense and says what he thinks, and that’s the biggest similarity.’

Clough did not spend much time analysing Mourinho’s team against Everton, however.

‘I watched the first 10 minutes! That was enough,’ he said. ‘My wife said, “Do you want to watch it?” I said, “Not really.” So we turned it off.

Clough, back in the same role, meets Manchester United in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday

‘You can’t learn much. You don’t know what side they’re going to put out for a start. So we will be concentrating on ourselves and not worrying too much about them because it just frightens us.

‘It frightens the players. Everton are a very good team and they literally couldn’t get out of their half for the first 10 minutes of the game. Hopefully we will. We might try to kick it a bit further than them and get a couple of balls to their corner flag.’

Burton enter the game off the back of Clough’s best result in charge, a 2-1 win over Fulham, and preparations will not be different just because the next opponents are leading the Premier League.

‘We will relax and be stressing to players to have a go, work as we do in every Championship game, but just enjoy the evening. The whole club has to enjoy it as well. We were very fortunate to go there 11 years ago and now we’re going again.’
