Ritchie De Laet and Matty James have signed permanent contracts with Championship side Leicester City.

De Laet, 23, and James, 20, join the Foxes for an undisclosed fee, on three-year deals running until June 2015.

Leicester manager Nigel Pearson revealed the club had been monitoring the pair for "some time" and said he was "very pleased" to wrap up the deal.

“Both are hungry, young players with winning mentalities, experience of Championship football and a desire to be successful," he said. "They will add considerable quality to the squad.”

Both players leave Old Trafford following frustrating campaigns: Belgian defender De Laet had his season-long loan deal at Norwich City terminated in January after just seven first-team appearances before spending the rest of 2011/12 in United’s Reserves, while James struggled with injury for much of the season, managing just five appearances for Warren Joyce’s second-string side.

Defender De Laet arrived at United as a surprise signing from Stoke City in January 2009. He only chalked up six first-team appearances in his three-and-a-half years at Old Trafford, although gained valuable experience during loan spells at Sheffield United, Preston, Portsmouth and Norwich.

He also played a key role in the Reserves' Northern League title win this season when he shone as a makeshift centre-forward against Newcastle United; the move yielded chaos in the Magpies' defence and the Reds recovered from three goals down to win 6-3.

James, a product of United’s Academy system, played regularly for England at youth level and even captained the Three Lions at the Under-19 European Championships in 2009.

Sadly, though, injury has been a recurring theme of James’ recent seasons and he leaves United without making a senior appearance. Leicester City will hope the move signals a change in fortune for the gifted midfielder.

Goodluck juga dah... moga sukses di klub baru nanti. Norwood punya kemampuan free kick yang lumayan bagus.
