With so many players fit and competing for places, Jose Mourinho admits he has a selection headache ahead of Manchester United’s Premier League game at Tottenham Hotspur.

During an interview with ManUtd.com’s Adam Marshall at the Aon Training Complex, the manager confirmed his squad did not pick up any fresh injuries from the Emirates FA Cup win at Yeovil Town.

That means the only unavailable players are long-term absentees Eric Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“We have no more injuries,” Mourinho happily revealed to us. “It was a tough match at Yeovil, a difficult match, difficult conditions, but everything is good.”

Asked if that presents a healthy problem for him, the boss responded: “Sure. The real headache is when you don’t have the players, so when you have so many injuries then you are in trouble. When almost everybody is available and the quality is high, these are the good problems to have.”

Mourinho also admitted confidence is high in the camp following a winning start to 2018, with his side yet to concede a single goal in five fixtures across all competitions.

“We have managed to win every match in January, I think three Premier League matches and two cup matches, so five victories makes a happy camp. We are playing with a good balance. It is not easy to not concede goals because of the high quality of football in this country. Scoring goals and winning matches is very important because we need points. We are playing well and we deserved these results.”

Wednesday’s match against fifth-placed Tottenham will notably be played at Wembley, due to Spurs being without a permanent home while their new ground is being built in north London.

United have an excellent record at the national stadium in recent seasons and Mourinho has won twice there as Reds boss, although the ground was neutral on both of those occasions. That won’t be the case this week and Jose knows that will provide the opposition with an advantage.

“I was at Wembley for Tottenham versus Chelsea and I had that feeling that Wembley is Spurs’ home, because it was full of their supporters," said the manager. "I am used to going to Wembley when it is 50/50 with supporters, so it was the first time I went like that. It is an amazing stadium and one for us to enjoy.

“Spurs are one of the top teams in the country. Not a title contender because they are too far away. But I say honestly they are a Champions League contender, they can reach that level. They have some of the best players in the country, a very good manager and a very difficult opponent.

“It is a really big game. The difference between us and Spurs is seven or eight points, but the reality is they are a top team in terms of their quality and ambitions, and a team of our level, so it is a big match.”

MATCH PREVIEW: TOTTENHAM V UNITED

Setting the scene: From the humble surroundings of Huish Park to the glamorous stage of Wembley Stadium, Manchester United switch focus back to the Premier League for a crucial midweek clash against Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds make the trip to the capital looking to continue a 100 per cent winning run in 2018 (without conceding a goal) and extend the unbeaten run in the top flight to nine games. Victory would also move Jose Mourinho's men 11 points clear of fifth-placed Spurs in the table.

Both sides experienced contrasting fonrtunes when taking on League Two clubs away from home in the Emirates FA Cup fourth round at the weekend, with United easing past Yeovil Town with a 4-0 win on Friday night before Spurs drew 1-1 against lowly Newport County.

How can I follow the game? Wednesday's 20:00 GMT kick-off will be broadcast live on BT Sport in the UK. Subscribers to MUTV can watch the build-up from 18:00 GMT on the Match Day show. Radio commentary of the game is also available, and the full game will be shown at midnight on Thursday.

Any team news? Alexis Sanchez could make his first Premier League appearance for United after a Man-of-the-Match display at Yeovil, while captain Michael Carrick could be in contention for a first league top-flight outing of the season (against his former club) after returning at Huish Park. Jose Mourinho told MUTV there are no new injuries to contend with and admitted he has a positive selection headache. He also gave an update on last season’s top scorer, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who has been working on his match fitness.

For Spurs, it remains to be seen whether goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen will be back, having missed the last two games, but injured trio Danny Rose, Serge Aurier and Harry Winks are expected to be sidelined again.

All eyes on Alexis… After an impressive showing against Yeovil, our new no.7 is looking to build on his positive debut on a ground where he has a good record. The Chilean has scored seven goals at Wembley – including on his last appearance in Arsenal's FA Cup final victory over Chelsea last May, having missed the Gunners' Community Shield win over the same opponents on penalties at the start of this season through injury. He is bound to receive a hostile reception from Spurs fans as a former Arsenal player, but the national stadium is a fitting stage for the 29-year-old to make his Premier League debut for United.

How have Spurs been doing? Tottenham have stuttered to successive 1-1 draws in their last two games against Newport and Southampton, following emphatic home wins over AFC Wimbledon and Everton. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are unbeaten in six league matches since a 4-1 defeat at leaders Manchester City in mid-December as they chase down Liverpool, who are two points ahead of them in fourth.

What happened in the previous meeting? Both teams were locked level on points heading into the clash at Old Trafford at the end of October, when a tight game in the driving rain was decided by substitute Anthony Martial’s late finish – which was later voted our Goal of the Month – as the Reds prevailed 1-0.

What's our record like against them? Historically, United have a strong record against the north London club, registering 88 wins and 49 draws in 187 previous meetings in all competitions stretching back as far as 1899. In more recent times, United have won 33 of the teams’ 51 Premier League encounters, with Spurs managing just seven wins and there have been 11 draws. The Reds are in fact unbeaten in five of the previous seven league meetings between the sides, and plan to earn maximum points against Spurs in the same Premier League season for the first time since 2011/12.

An historic occasion… For the first time in our history, United will play a Premier League game at Wembley Stadium - which is Tottenham's temporary home while a new ground is built at White Hart Lane. It's also our 50th match at the national stadium overall, with the record to date standing at 22 wins, 12 draws and 15 defeats – scoring 73 goals and conceding 55 in the process.

One to watch… He may have missed the Old Trafford encounter earlier in the season through injury, but Harry Kane will be fit and raring to go for Spurs on Wednesday. The records have been tumbling all season long for the irrepressible frontman, who made it 34 goals in as many games for club and country in 2017/18 with his late equaliser against Newport last weekend. The 24-year-old, who netted his first goal against United at White Hart Lane last term, has had the most shots of any player in the Premier League this campaign (133) and the Reds defence will need to keep him quiet.

Defensively sound… United boast a formidable record at the back, having not conceded a goal since the 2-2 draw at home to Burnley on Boxing Day. No team has conceded fewer goals in the Premier League this season than United (16) and no goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets than David De Gea (14).

Who is the referee? As he was for our last visit to Wembley 11 months ago, Andre Marriner will be in the middle for Wednesday’s game. The 47-year-old will officiate his fourth United match of the season after handling both of our victories over Everton and last month’s 3-1 win at Arsenal. He’ll be assisted by Scott Ledger and Simon Beck, with Graham Scott on fourth official duties.

Manchester United face the unusual circumstance of playing a Premier League game at Wembley for the first time, when facing Tottenham Hotspur there on Wednesday evening.

The Reds will make the trip to the national stadium, Spurs' temporary home, with the aim of completing the double over Mauricio Pochettino's side after an important 1-0 win at Old Trafford back in October.

The match also represents a milestone for United, who will play at Wembley for the 50th time. The club's record to date stands at 22 wins, 12 draws and 15 defeats, with 73 goals scored and 55 conceded in the process.

MARK HUGHES | United 1 Oldham Athletic 1 (after extra time) | 1994 FA Cup semi-final
United fans of a certain age were accustomed to seeing an unstoppable shot from Sparky and the Welshman produced a spectacular one at the national stadium to break Oldham’s hearts deep into extra time in a dramatic FA Cup last-four clash. As the Reds desperately laid siege to the Latics goal, the striker got on the end of Brian McClair’s hooked ball into the box, outmuscled two defenders and unleashed a stunning dipping volley to level the tie. It set up an intriguing replay at Manchester City’s Maine Road three days later when the Reds turned on the style to beat Joe Royle’s side 4-1 and progress to another final.

ERIC CANTONA | United 1 Liverpool 0 | 1996 FA Cup final
A bit of magic from King Eric in the 85th minute proved decisive against the club's fierce rivals from Merseyside and secured United’s third FA Cup triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson. After David Beckham’s corner was punched away by Liverpool keeper David James only to the edge of the box, the Frenchman saw his opportunity and somehow hopped backwards into a shooting position before striking a powerful right-footed volley which flew into the net.

TEDDY SHERINGHAM | United 2 Newcastle 0 | 1999 FA Cup final
An FA Cup triumph was sandwiched in between claiming the league title and lifting the Champions League trophy as part of an unprecedented Treble for the Reds in 1998/99. The second part of the historic achievement was secured by virtue of a dominant win over the Magpies, with Sheringham setting the team on the way to glory with a sublime strike after 11 minutes. Just 90 seconds after coming on for injured captain Roy Keane, the no.10 was picked out by a precisely weighted ball from Paul Scholes and he drifted into the box before rifling an unstoppable low drive under keeper Steve Harper. Sheringham then capped a Man of the Match display by returning the compliment for Scholes, teeing up the midfielder to drill home the clinching goal early in the second half.

ANTHONY MARTIAL | United 2 Everton 1 | 2016 FA Cup semi-final
Having announced his arrival at Old Trafford with a memorable debut goal against Liverpool, the Frenchman further demonstrated his immense quality at the expense of their neighbours Everton. His stunning finish later in the same season sent the Reds to a first FA Cup final since 2007. With the semi-final locked level at 1-1 and extra-time looming, Martial stepped up when it mattered to fire in a 93rd-minute winner. After linking up with Ander Herrera, the forward took the ball in his stride, advanced into the box and coolly stroked the ball into the corner of the net from 15 yards to send the United fans at that end of Wembley into delirium.

JESSE LINGARD | United 2 Crystal Palace 1 | 2016 FA Cup final
Another FA Cup final, another scorching strike. With the score poised at 1-1 against Palace deep into extra time, Lingard popped up with a moment to savour to settle matters in United’s favour. Antonio Valencia’s low cross was cleared by a defender before Martial could reach it and the ball popped up to the edge of the box where Jesse instinctively smashed an unstoppable volley past Wayne Hennessey into the top corner.

ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC | United 3 Southampton 2 | 2017 EFL Cup final
Last but by no means least is another trophy-winning goal from the Reds' last Wembley visit. With the scoreboard showing 2-2 and the prospect of an additional half-hour to be played, Jose Mourinho's men broke forward in the 87th minute with Herrera eventually supplying an inch-perfect cross for Ibrahimovic. The Swede did the rest, heading the ball emphatically beyond Fraser Forster to seal a fifth League Cup triumph for United amid jubilant scenes once again at Wembley.

Jose Mourinho has been busy preparing his Manchester United squad for tonight’s anticipated Premier League match against a Tottenham Hotspur team that he has plenty of respect for.

The chance to witness the Chilean potentially linking up with Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard for the first time is one that must have most Reds salivating. Spurs are formidable opponents and pride themselves on having a resolute defence, but any breakaway raid with Alexis at the heart of it, as he showed for Ander Herrera’s strike at Huish Park, is one that will strike fear into the Londoners. I wouldn’t put it past him to score on his league debut with United – against a side who are Arsenal’s fiercest rivals and at a stadium where he usually performs so well.”

ANTHONY MARTIAL
Steve Bartram: “After swerving the win at Yeovil, Anthony is fresh, on song and has form for both fixture and venue. He left the bench to score the winner against Spurs at Old Trafford back in October, and his superb January form – three goals in three starts – take him into Wednesday’s game on a high. History is also on Martial’s side at Wembley, with four wins from his four previous trips. He can look back on a last minute winner against Everton in the 2016 FA Cup semi-final, plus winner’s medals from the final, last season’s Community Shield and League Cup final.”

ROMELU LUKAKU

Always a powerful presence, his all-round play has impressed fans in recent weeks, particularly when bringing other team-mates into the attack and that’s an attribute that is often overlooked. The arrival of the warrior-like Alexis could inspire Lukaku’s best performances yet and, crucially, he was rested at Yeovil, only coming on for the final exchanges and grabbing a late goal with an accomplished finish. He is fresh and raring to go against a Tottenham side that could be missing Hugo Lloris and Toby Alderweireld.”

Joe Ganley: "Amid all the hullabaloo surrounding the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, Reds could be forgiven for forgetting that United already possess at least one very serviceable talisman: Paul Pogba. CHRIS SMALLING
Adam Higgins: "United have been solid defensively in recent weeks, keeping six successive clean sheets in all competitions, but that impressive record is likely to face a stern test against an attack-minded Spurs side packed full of quality. Our no.12 will have his hands full keeping his England colleague Harry Kane quiet, with the striker in red-hot form having struck 34 goals for club and country already this season, including six in his last four outings. This particular duel could prove decisive in the final outcome, but Smalling has proved on many occasions he is up to the task of dealing with world-class attackers and, after being rested for the win at Yeovil, he’ll be relishing the challenge that awaits."
