Re: [UCL] Manchester United vs Young Boys

Jose Mourinho confident Manchester United have sorted out traffic issues for Young Boys tie... but he's ready to walk to Old Trafford again

* Mourinho walked to Old Trafford for Juventus tie due to traffic issues
* United were fined by UEFA after they arrived just 50 minutes before kick-off
* The Red Devils have now switched to a hotel 'just a few metres for the ground'

Jose Mourinho is confident Manchester United will get to Old Trafford on time against Young Boys and avoid the travel issues that have hampered their preparations during the Champions League campaign.

United could seal progress to the knockout phase on Tuesday evening, when they will be hoping traffic does not prove problematic for the third successive home match in the competition.

UEFA fined the club 15,000 euros (around £13,000) for their late arrival and the subsequent delayed kick-off of their Champions League match against Valencia in October.

Jose Mourinho was forced to walk to Old Trafford for Juventus tie due to traffic problems. Travel issues have hampered preparations during United's Champions League campaign

Those issues reappeared later that month, with Juventus arriving 65 minutes before kick-off and United getting to Old Trafford just 50 minutes prior to play getting under way.

United boss Mourinho decided to walk to the ground and is ready to do so again, but is hopeful those issues have now been smoothed over.

'We decided to change hotel, so we are not coming from Manchester city centre,' he said.

'We are going to stay in hotel just a few metres away and the information I have from the club and the club contacts with the police is that things are going to be much better than the last time. But if it isn't better, I walk!'

The issues in the team navigating their way through Manchester's traffic are partly due to roadworks being compounded by rush hour traffic.

Those issues could be further exacerbated by the Christmas markets and 3,000 Young Boys fans being escorted to Old Trafford from the city centre.

Greater Manchester Police Chief Superintendent Graeme Openshaw and Match Commander for the game said: 'We are working closely with Manchester United Football Club, local councils and Transport for Greater Manchester to ensure we do everything possible to minimise disruption.

'The supporters will be escorted to the stadium at around 4.30pm from Shambles Square, during which time traffic will be temporarily stopped on several roads but we'll endeavour to keep traffic flowing wherever possible.

'Those travelling to Old Trafford to watch the game should allow plenty of time to contend with traffic and security checks at the stadium and we would ask commuters and motorists to plan their journeys in advance and take into account the large volume of people that will be in and around the area during this time.'

A spokesperson for Manchester United said: 'We understand the impact that traffic congestion is having on our supporters.

'We have consulted with TfGM and GMP to get their support and advice in advance of the BSC Young Boys game and are communicating this directly to all ticket purchasers prior to the game.'

Re: [UCL] Manchester United vs Young Boys

Young Boys manager Gerardo Seoane braced for strong response from Manchester United: 'We expect a very difficult game'

* Manchester United were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace on Saturday
* The result at Old Trafford further dents United's Premier League hopes
* It increases the importance of making the Champions League knockout stages
* Young Boys boss Gerardo Seoane is expecting a tough challenge on Tuesday

Young Boys head coach Gerardo Seoane is braced for a Manchester United response following their latest poor showing at the weekend.

Jose Mourinho's side were jeered off the pitch for the display as much as the result against Crystal Palace, having been held to a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford on Saturday.

It further dents United's Premier League hopes and increases the importance of making it through to the Champions League knockout phase as early as possible.

Mourinho's men will be through on Tuesday if they win and Valencia fail to beat Juventus, whereas Young Boys must win to have any chance of a third place finish and reaching the Europa League.

The fact United have just won three of their nine home matches in all competitions should give the visitors hope, but Seoane believes that is merely a blip.

'I think this is just something not usual, these results,' the manager of the Swiss champions said.

'I think Manchester United are strong at home and, for sure, also they want to show to their crowd that they are strong also at home.

'This stadium has a big tradition.

Young Boys manager Gerardo Seoane is expecting a tough test against Manchester United. Seoane spoke to the media on the eve of the Champions League clash at Old Trafford

'Manchester United were always the Red Devils at home so we expect a very difficult game.'

Key striker Guillaume Hoarau will be absent from Tuesday's match through an ankle injury sustained at the weekend, with Jean-Pierre Nsame set to come in.

Sekou Sanogo is suspended for the Group H encounter, when ex-Newcastle full-back Kevin Mbabu hopes to replicate the first 30 minutes of the fixture in Bern - before United eventually kicked on to run out 3-0 victors.

'We started really good, the first 30 minutes, against Man United, but we had a lack of efficiency,' Mbabu said.

'We had a few chances and when you don't score at this level after one or two chances, the opponent doesn't need too many chances to score a goal.'

Matikan streaming meski blom habis. Muak banget lihatnya.

Saat tahu Fred diganti bukannya Fellaini atau Matic ya udah. Kayak orang stres yang lagi frustasi, nggak tau caranya nyerang dan berharap hoki tinggi badan aja. Bener miris, MU jadi semedioker ini.

Re: [UCL] Manchester United vs Young Boys

Manchester United 1-0 Young Boys: Marouane Fellaini spares Jose Mourinho's blushes but Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were wasteful - PLAYER RATINGS

* Marouane Fellaini scored at the death as Manchester United beat Young Boys
* Chris Smalling was solid and commanding at the heart of United's defence
* Jesse Lingard and Marcus Rashford were wasteful and look bereft of confidence

Manchester United left it mightily fine but Marouane Fellaini ensured their fans would not have to witness another successive stalemate at Old Trafford.

The Belgium international used his size and strength to control a flick on, swivel and finish into the bottom corner in the last moments of the match as United claimed all three points to book their spot in the next round of the Champions League.

The result is the main thing, but there were some poor performances yet again from some of United's key players this evening.

Here, Sportsmail's MIKE KEEGAN gives his assessments of both sets of players from Old Trafford.

MAN UTD (4-3-3) TEAM AVERAGE: 5.9

DAVID DE GEA 6

Scrambled across his goalline to tip deflection on to the post and prevent the unthinkable.

ANTONIO VALENCIA 6

Captain on first start since injury at the beginning of last month. Has been missed.

CHRIS SMALLING 6

The only centre half Mourinho has been able to rely on. Was calm and commanding.

Chris Smalling put in a shift and was solid at the back for Jose Mourinho's men on Tuesday

PHIL JONES 5.5

First start since missing penalty which saw United knocked out of EFL Cup by Derby. Nervy at times.

LUKE SHAW 6

Admitted you need a ‘thick skin’ to play under Mourinho and may have needed it at half-time.

FRED 6

Underwhelming since summer move but certainly not the worst of the bunch here.

NEMANJA MATIC 5.5

Has struggled for form this season. Not a standout night for the ex-Chelsea man.

https://i.postimg.cc/FHNLNCJC/671931...3357354905.jpg
Nemanja Matic was a passenger for much of it and failed to have any impact on the match

MAROUANE FELLAINI 7

Anonymous first-half but all will be forgotten as he once again came to the rescue late on.

JESSE LINGARD 5.5

Yet to score on his rare United outings this year. Wasteful early on and eventually hooked.

MARCUS RASHFORD 5.5

Shake of the head from Jose when he chipped glorious early chance over. Lacking confidence.

ANTHONY MARTIAL 5.5

One of few shining lights in a miserable start to United’s season but looked laboured here.

https://i.postimg.cc/zXnhmY3R/671930...3357358032.jpg
Marcus Rashford was wasteful in front of goal and looks bereft of all confidence at the minute

SUBSTITUTES

Lukaku 6 (for Lingard 64min)

Pogba 6 (for Fred 64)

Mata 6 (for Valencia (73)

Not used: Romero, Bailly, Pereira, McTominay.

MANAGER

JOSE MOURINHO 5

Pre-match quotes set his side off on the wrong foot but his big Belgian saved the day.

iya juga sih, tapi liat performa United musim ini, yg penting 3 poin lah, mo hasilnya lewat gol kontroversial kyk Fellaini (yg katanya berbau handsball), mau di menit injury time, yg penting menang dulu la, kadang disepakbola juga perlu keberuntungan gak hanya permainan indah IHMO
