UNITED FACE FC MIDTJYLLAND IN EUROPA LEAGUE
Manchester United will face FC Midtjylland in the last 32 of the UEFA Europa League.
It's the first time the Reds have faced the Danish club who finished runners-up in Group D of the Europa League group stages. Prior to that, they knocked out Southampton in the play-offs of the competition, having dropped out of the Champions League qualifying round following defeat to Greek side APOEL.
FC Midtjylland were only formed in 1999 - the year of the Reds' famous Treble triumph - and won the Danish championship for the first time in their history last season.
As one of the four best third-placed teams in the Champions League, United have the perceived advantage of being at home in the second leg. The first meeting will therefore be away at FC Midtjylland's MCH Arena in Herning on Thursday 18 February 2016 (kick-off 18:00 UK time), with the return game scheduled for a week later at Old Trafford on Thursday 25 February 2016 (kick-off 20:05 UK time).
It will be United's fourth trip to face a team in Denmark after past Champions League clashes against Brondby (1998), FC Copenhagen (2006) and Aalborg (2008).
FC Midtjylland were one of 16 possible options for the Reds in the last-32 draw. Louis van Gaal's men cannot play any fellow Barclays Premier League teams until the quarter-finals at the earliest due to UEFA rules.
