Default Re: [EPL] West Ham United 3-2 Manchester United

Antonio Valencia can't go on as a stop-gap for Reds and Diafra Sakho can save Hammers a fortune: West Ham 3-2 Manchester United - Five things we learned

* Manchester United need to buy a right back during the summer
* Slaven Bilic's 'money’s no problem' approach may be unnecessary
* Fans gasping for a half-time pint were left disappointed on Tuesday night

Nothing against Antonio Valencia, but surely a new right back will be on the agenda for Manchester United this summer.

Valencia, by trade, isn’t a right back while Matteo Darmian hasn’t pulled up many trees since arriving from Torino.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah is a good prospect but lacks experience. It’s a problem position for United.

West Ham will test Leicester City's resolve to hold onto Jamie Vardy with a £20million offer after bidding £24million for Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette on Monday.

The move for Vardy is not expected to succeed, particularly after he voiced his desire to stay at the King Power and play Champions League football, but West Ham are keen to see if the Premier League champions would be willing to sell.

Slaven Bilic’s apparent 'money’s no problem' approach to signing a new striker next season for West Ham may be unnecessary.

Diafra Sakho’s opener meant the Hammers have now scored in 12 consecutive Premier League games - their longest ever run in the division.

But, perhaps, Andy Carroll’s woeful finish when presented with a golden chance to put Hammers 2-0 up told us the real story.

Ander Herrera enters the final two years of his current Manchester United contract this summer.

It’s always a delicate balancing act when a player reaches that point. Does a club offer him an extension or run the risk of the Spaniard entering the final 12 months of his deal, when things become very precarious.

It’s an issue United will face with Herrera this summer. Should they stick or twist?

Those who were gasping for a half-time pint after watching a frenetic first-half were left disappointed.

Due to the 45 minute kick-off delay owing to Manchester United’s late arrival, the Upton Park kiosks were sold out at half-time as supporters drank away the time waiting for the clash to start.
