Default Re: [2018/19] FA Cup

EMIRATES FA CUP SEMI-FINAL DATE ANNOUNCED

Manchester United have discovered when we will play Chelsea in our Emirates FA Cup semi-final clash at Wembley.

The Reds qualified for the last-four stage after eliminating Norwich City in the quarter-finals and beat Wolverhampton Wanderers, Tranmere Rovers and Derby County in the previous rounds.

As for Chelsea, a 1-0 victory over Leicester City last weekend ensured their passage to the semi-finals. Frank Lampard's men have also overcome Nottingham Forest, Hull City and Liverpool so far this season.

The Reds and the Blues were paired together in the semi-finals and it has been confirmed the game will take place on Sunday 19 July, at 18:00 BST. The match will be broadcast live in the UK on the BBC and, like all fixtures since football's resumption, will be played behind closed doors.

The other semi-final, between Arsenal and Manchester City, will be played the day before, with the winners set to meet either United or Chelsea in the final.

The semi-final with Chelsea will actually be our fourth meeting of the season.

United have enjoyed our previous encounters in 2019/20 - winning 4-0 on the opening day of the Premier League season and then beating Frank Lampard’s men 2-0 in the reverse fixture in February.

We also locked horns with the Londoners during October’s Carabao Cup last-16 tie. Again, it was the Reds who came out on top, thanks to a Marcus Rashford double.

This will also be the fourth year in a row we have faced Chelsea in the FA Cup, and the fixture will see a re-run of the 1994, 2007 and 2018 finals.

The 2020 Heads Up FA Cup Final is scheduled for Saturday 1 August at Wembley Stadium, connected by EE.
