Default Rumour: United Plot Bundesliga Double Raid

Man United Plan £49m Bundesliga Pair Bid as Sir Alex Ferguson Looks to Freshen Up Old Trafford Squad

Old Trafford lining up big money moves.

Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will seek funding to make sign two long term targets as he looks to freshen up his Old Trafford squad. The Scot will look to his board to finance big money moves to sign Borussia Dortmund pair Mario Gotze and Neven Subotic, two players who are attracting a great deal of attention from prospective suitors after helping their side to a Bundesliga triumph last term as well as mounting a campaign to retain the title this term.

Ferguson is keen to see his side challenge for the signatures of high profile additions as he looks to convince his current top performers that Man United have the ambition, and finances, to beat others in the European elite for big name signings.

Having seen his side struggle defensively this term, effectively resulting in an embarrassing Champions League group stage exit, Sir Alex Ferguson wants to bring in a top centre back and top of his wish-list in this department is Serbian international Subotic. The need to bring in such a player has been hastened by the long term injury suffered by Nemanja Vidic and the less than glorious form shown by veteran Rio Ferdinand.

Whilst ideally the Man United manager would like to lure the 23 year old Dortmund defender in the January transfer window a move in the summer is more likely as Westfalenstadion boss Jurgen Klopp will fight tooth and nail to keep the nucleus of his side together as they look to beat rivals Bayern Munich and Schalke, as well as surprise package Borussia Monchengladbach, to clinch back to back Bundesliga titles.

Ferguson has also joined the pursuit of German international youngster Mario Gotze, probably considered Dortmund’s prized asset, and the Old Trafford boss may feel that the chances of luring the youngster away from the club he has represented since the age of nine are increased due to the signing of talented playmaker Marco Reus, who has agreed a deal to sign for the club in the summer.

The £14.5m signing of Reus has led many to believe that Klopp is resigned to losing Gotze and is therefore lined up his replacement.

Ferguson is keen to see his side make a statement of intent and will look to the Glazers to fund a bid in the region of €60m (£49m) for the Borussia Dortmund pair.
