Default Re: [2014/2015] Man United Fixture and Result

17/06/2014 11:46 - ManUtd.com, Mark Froggatt
Van Gaal set for 2014/15 fixtures

Louis van Gaal will discover the identity of his first competitive opponent as Manchester United manager on Wednesday when the 2014/15 Barclays Premier League fixtures are released at 09:00 BST.

The incoming Reds boss is currently occupied leading his Netherlands team's tilt at*World Cup glory in Brazil but, with less than two months until the start of the club season on 16 August, his first competitive match with United will soon be upon us.*

Traditionally a huge day for supporters, it signals the onset of the next campaign and offers fans a chance to assess key matches whilst also looking forward to what will hopefully be an exciting new era under the stewardship of van Gaal and his assistant, Ryan Giggs.

United have an impressive curtain-raiser record throughout the Premier League's 22-year history, with 14 victories, four draws and just four defeats.

As well as looking out for all the key clashes with our rivals, fans will also be hoping for the first match to be at Old Trafford, having been drawn away for the last three seasons.
