Default Re: Man United U-18 Matches 2018/19

MERSEY FIXTURE CHANGES FOR UNDER-18S

Manchester United's Under-18 Premier League games against Everton and Liverpool have been moved.

Neil Ryan's side were set to take on the table-topping Toffees this Saturday, live on MUTV, but the fixture has been postponed due to the Blues' FA Youth Cup commitments, namely a home third-round tie against Sunderland.

The United game will now be played at Finch Farm on 5 February 2019 with a 13:00 GMT kick-off.

Meanwhile, the home clash with Liverpool at the Aon Training Complex has been switched from 5 January 2019 to 9 February (11:00 GMT kick-off), meaning that will be a big week next year for the youngsters.

United safely qualified as group winners for the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League with the 6-2 thumping of Young Boys on Tuesday and the competition for places at the younger levels will keep giving Ryan a selection headache.

“It does make it very hard,” he said. “What we're trying to create is that environment where everyone is pushing each other in training - mentally, physically, tactically and so on. With everything we do with them, we want that feeling of unity and a squad where everyone is working for a common purpose and so on. We're going to need the squad to help us through the upcoming games.”
