Manchester United were furious after they scraped past League One Rochdale on penalties on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup having behind held 1-1 against the minnows after 90 minutes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side won 5-3 on penalties but supporters were not happy with the performance.

Another showed their frustration on social media as they said: 'Sack Ole. Embarrasing.'

Someone else said: 'Embarrassing, this club is just plain embarrassing.'

One United fan said: 'The players should give their weeks' wage to the Rochdale players.







While another person called for the Red Devils boss to be axed as they said: 'Joke performance. Sack him now.'

Mason Greenwood gave United the lead midway through the second half after a lackluster first half.

Luke Matheson, 16, equalised late on in what would have been a dream goal at Old Trafford.

United, who sit 10 points off league leaders and arch rivals Liverpool, return to league action against Arsenal on Monday night.
