Default Re: Paul Labile Pogba

Real Madrid 'want Paul Pogba to take a pay cut' from £290,000-a-week wage at Manchester United as doubts emerge over summer deal

* Zinedine Zidane has repeatedly spoken of his admiration for Paul Pogba
* Manchester United midfielder is on Real Madrid wishlist for this summer
* But there could be some financial hurdles to overcome to execute a deal
* Pogba earns £290,000 per week at Old Trafford and may have to take pay cut

Paul Pogba may have to take a pay cut from his £290,000-a-week wage at Manchester United if he joins Real Madrid.

The Spanish side have been tracking the Frenchman and Zinedine Zidane has repeatedly spoken in glowing terms about the 26-year-old.

But a possible stumbling block this summer could be the financial side of the deal, according to Marca.

Pogba earns £15million a year at Old Trafford and is one of the best paid players at the club.

Any move to Real would take a serious chunk off their wage bill and those in charge at the Bernabeu are starting to have doubts.

The World Cup winner is eager to leave United when the transfer window opens but they are unlikely to accept less than £130million

Paul Pogba may have to take a pay cut if he leaves Manchester United for Real Madrid. Pogba has had a mixed season but has struggled with United in poor form recently. Zinedine Zidane has long admired Pogba and is interested in signing him this summer

A huge transfer fee, combined with the wage packet is likely to require Pogba to take home a lower weekly amount than at present.

Having helped the national side to glory in Russia last year, the midfielder started the season well before fading and then enjoying a brief renaissance when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge.

A drop off in form recently has coincided with United's dreadful recent run but there is a belief in Madrid from Zidane in particular that he could perform consistently well in La Liga.
