Default Re: Paul Labile Pogba

'Undisciplined, disrespectful... he will not be missed': Paul Scholes says Paul Pogba should NEVER play for Man United again over his 'ridiculous' Liverpool red card - and years of causing 'MAYHEM'

* Paul Pogba started on the bench but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought him on
* French midfielder was duly at fault for Liverpool's fifth goal by giving ball away
* Pogba was then shown a straight red card for dangerous tackle on Naby Keita
* Paul Scholes has suggested Pogba should never play for Man United again

Paul Scholes has questioned whether Paul Pogba should ever play for Manchester United again after his 'ridiculous' sending off against Liverpool.

The French midfielder was named among the substitutes by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but was introduced at half-time with United 4-0 down.

Pogba was directly responsible for Liverpool's fifth and final goal, scored by Mohamed Salah, after carelessly losing possession in the centre circle.

And he was then shown a straight red card on the hour for a dangerous tackle on Naby Keita.

Paul Pogba was sent off just 15 minutes after coming on as a half-time substitute during Manchester United's 5-0 thrashing by Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday. The midfielder's reckless tackle on Naby Keita saw an initial yellow card upgraded to a red

Pogba's current contract at United expires next summer and Scholes said he wouldn't be upset if that was his last outing for the club.

He told Premier League Productions: 'To say a disappointing day would be a complete understatement.

'I think we all realise it's been difficult, I just think the manager got caught up in the emotion of the comeback [against Atalanta in the Champions League] on Wednesday night.

'We keep going back to that game but you were never going to do that against Liverpool, they have too much quality.

'I don't think it was a lack of effort, I think tactically they were set up in a way where this could happen and unfortunately it did happen.

'Paul Pogba coming on to the pitch at half-time to try and help the team and maybe get a little respectability about it, tries to stand on the ball, tries to show how strong he is in the middle of the pitch… gives the goal away.

'Then later on gets sent off with a ridiculous tackle. Now you're 5-0 down with 10 men. You'd have to think, if Ole's still a manager there, will we see Pogba again in a United shirt?

'He's caused mayhem over the last couple of years. Everyone knows what a talent he is, everybody trusts him, every manager trusts him, tried to give him his head and let him be the player he's been.

'But with all the commotion, not signing his contract, almost holding the club to ransom, and then he comes on and does something like that.

Club legend Paul Scholes says 'disrespectful' Pogba shouldn't play another game for the club. It was another chastening afternoon for United as they were thrashed by their biggest rivals

'It's not Ole's fault, don't get me wrong, but that's part of it which almost summed the United performance up today.

'Look, he probably will play [again] won't he? But I don't think they will be missing anything if he doesn't.

'He's had numerous chances, he keeps saying he lacks consistency, but that is just [a lack of] discipline and disrespect for your manager and your team-mates, what he's done today.'

Solskjaer finds himself under severe pressure after a humiliating afternoon in which Liverpool outclassed United. Salah scored a hat-trick after early goals from Naby Keita and Diogo Jota set the visitors on their way.

Scholes had seen the shocking performance coming when he offered a sober assessment of United's shortcomings just minutes after their thrilling comeback win over Atalanta on Wednesday night.

Scholes said on BT Sport: 'You celebrate every win, the first half really worried me, people say I am miserable, but I looked at that game thinking about Liverpool at the weekend and playing Manchester City [on November 6].

'If you play two central midfielders against them, it'll be three or four-nil and you aren't coming back.

'It was great seeing all the shooting and crosses in second half, but that first half worried me. They showed great spirit but they conceded so many chances, quality players make sure you don't win that game.

'Will they play that well against Liverpool, imagine Jurgen Klopp at home rubbing his hands together watching that first half.

'Atalanta had too much possession, I don't think the performance can be good when you are two down at home, I am miserable. I kept going back to that first half, which was disastrous.'

United's next game is away to Tottenham on Saturday.
