'Welcome and thanks for coming back Marcos!': Estudiantes announce return of former youth graduate Rojo from Manchester United on a loan deal until the end of the season

* Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo has joined Estudiantes on a loan deal
* He came through the club's academy and is now returning nine years later
* The club welcomed him back with emotional Twitter video of his club highlights
* Rojo will use the move to try and win back his place in the Argentina squad

Argentinian top-flight side Estudiantes have announced the return of former youth graduate Marcos Rojo on a short-term loan deal from Manchester United.

Rojo has not featured for United since November, and has now sealed a move away to get some game-time before the end of the season.

Announcing the move with an emotional video featuring clips of him playing for the club, Estudiantes wrote: 'You always return to the places where you were happy. Because of the sense of belonging, it's stronger.

Manchester United have agreed to allow defender Marcos Rojo to join Estudiantes on loan. He's been convinced by Estudiantes chairman and ex-Red Devil Juan Sebastian Veron

'Your dream and that of the Pincha family come true. We meet again. Welcome and thanks for coming back, Marcos. We welcome you with the heart.'

Former Manchester United midfielder Juan Sebastian Veron is the current chairman of Estudiantes, and the move will give Rojo the chance to claim his place in the Argentina squad for the upcoming Copa America.

Rojo is liked by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for his combative style but a series of injuries forced him down the pecking order at United.

Solskjaer did pour cold water on a potential January move for Rojo on Tuesday, but a deal has now come to fruition.

Rojo also saw a temporary move to Everton fall through on deadline day in August after United demanded a £4m loan fee.

The defneder progressed through the youth system at Estudiantes, making 43 appearances for the club between 2008 and 2011, before joining Spartak Moscow.
