Default Re: Radamel Falcao García Zárate

Radamel Falcao asked to LEAVE Galatasaray as Turkish giants can no longer afford his salary...while ex-Hammer Sofiane Feghouli also told to look for an exit ahead of Europa League clash with St Johnstone

* Galatasaray have asked Radamel Falcao to leave due to their financial troubles
* Falcao was given a raucous reception by fans when he joined the club in 2019
* The Colombian netted 19 league goals in two seasons since joining from Monaco
* Sofiane Feghouli has also been told to look for a new club due to his high wages

Galatasaray have asked star striker Radamel Falcao to leave the club as they can no longer afford his wages.

The Colombian arrived at Galatasaray to huge fanfare in 2019, with 25,000 fans greeting him at Istanbul's Ataturk airport.

But after scoring 19 league goals in his two seasons in Turkey, the former Atletico Madrid, Monaco, Chelsea and Manchester United striker has been told to look for a new club.

Galatasaray president Burak Elmas has said the club's financial problems mean they can no longer afford to keep Falcao or former West Ham midfielder Sofiane Feghouli.

Radamel Falcao has been told to look for a new club as Galatasaray can no longer afford him

'I talked to Falcao and Feghouli,' he told reporters.

'They provided very good services to us but with this wage structure we can't pay their wages. We want them to find a club.'

Gala have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic's impact on ticket sales while they suffered another financial hit last month when they were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG Eindhoven.

Elmas added: 'I hope they will respond and they will find a club for themselves in a short time.

'We part ways with good relations.

'This is a management decision and we won't consider them for the coming season.'

Gala's embarrassing 7-2 aggregate defeat to PSV saw them drop them into the Europa League, where they will meet Scottish Premiership side St Johnstone.

Gala host last season's Scottish Cup winners in the first leg of a third qualifying round tie on Thursday before visiting McDiarmid Park the following week.
