Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Newcastle United

Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Newcastle United
Penampilan Toon Army musim ini termasuk yg rada merosot nih, imbas EL kah ? Who knows ??

MANCHESTER UNITED v Newcastle: Fergie to ring the changes at Old Trafford
Sir Alex Ferguson is certain to make changes for Manchester United's Boxing Day encounter with Newcastle. United's failure to beat Swansea on Sunday saw their advantage in the Premier League title race trimmed to four points. Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez, Chris Smalling and Darren Fletcher will be amongst those hoping to be involved, whilst Rafael needs to shrug off the hamstring injury that kept him out of the Liberty Stadium encounter. Team (from): Lindegaard, De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Vidic, Ferdinand Evans, Buttner, Evra, Cleverley, Giggs, Fletcher, Scholes, Carrick, Young, Hernandez, Welbeck, Rooney, Van Persie. Manchester United's Jonny Evans wary of Newcastle strikeforce
Alan Pardew's men secured only their second win in 12 games with an unconvincing display against QPR on Saturday. Whereas last season they were scoring goals for fun, this time around it has been far harder, and rather than challenging for a Champions League spot, they have been nervously looking over their shoulders at the drop zone. But Evans does not feel that is a reason for Manchester United to take it easy at Old Trafford on Boxing Day. The Northern Ireland international knows Senegal duo Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse can cause problems for any defence. "Those guys are both very powerful," said Evans. "What Newcastle do very well is work the ball wide and put it in the box. "A lot of their goals come that way because Ba and Cisse don't give you a minute. "When the ball is floating around in the box, they beat people in the air and their goal record is what got Newcastle to where they were last year." United have already beaten the Geordies' twice this term, including in the Premier League at St James' Park with what many feel is still their best 90-minute performance of the campaign. Evans was one of them men on target, and he accepts it was a performance that set a standard which needs to be followed. "In the last couple of seasons we have gone away to places like Newcastle and either lost or drawn," he said. "This time it was very important to win. We were well prepared, had the right mindset and defended well. "With the goals as well it was one of our best performances of the season." NME |

Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Newcastle United
25/12/2012 01:01 - ManUtd.com, James Tuck Welbeck wary of Magpies Newcastle have endured an indifferent first half of the season, but that isn’t fooling Danny Welbeck. The Magpies are scrapping for points in the bottom half of the table, a catalogue of injuries having dented their hopes of emulating last season’s fifth-place finish. But Alan Pardew’s team is still littered with talented players who have the potential to upset United at Old Trafford on Boxing Day, as Welbeck knows. The Reds striker told United Review: “They’ve found it a bit tougher this year but I know they’ve had some injuries, which have played a part.* “You can still see potential throughout their team. They have some real attacking threats – everyone knows about players like Demba Ba and Papiss Cissé.* “All I can do is watch their games, look for any weaknesses and then do some damage on the pitch if I get the chance.” Welbeck will be hoping for an opportunity up front after seeing his game-time limited this season by the arrival of Robin van Persie and the form of Javier Hernandez.* The 22-year-old admits there are positive and negative aspects to the traditional Boxing Day fixture. “I suppose the worst part is that you have to spend Christmas night in a hotel and aren’t with your family,” he said. “I don’t think people really see that side of things.* “But the players look forward to the festive period because the games come thick and fast and, if you have a good run of results, you can be in a really strong position come the new year.” |
