Manchester United battle rivals City for new Chinese fans by signing deal to show MUTV in the Far East
* Manchester United have signed a new deal with Sina Sports * It will see MUTV shown in China, an important emerging football market * Manchester City sold a 13 per cent stake in the club to Chinese investors * But United have made their own move to increase foothold in Far East The race to attract Chinese fans to Premier League clubs has taken a new twist after Manchester United signed a deal to show its MUTV channel in the world's most populated country. United's rivals Manchester City last month sold a stake in the club to a Chinese consortium, in the belief that their partners will unlock the vast potential for new supporters. But United have now announced their own deal with a Chinese company, though this only covers broadcast rights and not any shareholding. Manchester United will hope to attract millions more fans in China after signing a new TV deal There is growing interest in the Premier League in parts of the Far East. LeTV has paid $400million (£274million) for the 2016-19 Premier League rights in Hong Kong - double the value of the previous three-year deal. The MUTV deal is with internet operator Sina Sports for exclusive rights in China to broadcast the the 24-hour channel, including mobile rights. The channel shows as-live coverage and highlights of all United games and coverage of manager Louis van Gaal's weekly press conference. United claim they have 108million followers in China. Arthur Wei, senior vice president of Sina Sports, said: 'Manchester United has deservedly won over 100million fans in China and we are excited to see how the club will grow its following through this historic launch. We anticipate this will make great strides to change the way China watches and understands the game of football.' A deal has been struck to show United's in-house television channel, MUTV, in the Far East United's group managing director Richard Arnold said: 'This is an important and exciting partnership, not only for Manchester United but also for our Chinese fans. 'MUTV broadcasting in China is not only a first for Manchester United, but also a first for any 24/7 dedicated Premier League club channel. We couldn't have found a better partner to work with on this than Sina Sports.' Manchester City believed they had stolen a march on their Premier League rivals after their owners sold a 13 per cent stake in the club's parent company to Chinese investors. The deal - which values City at a total of $3billion (around £2bn) - will see $400m pumped into the City Football Group (CFG), after it sold the stake to a consortium of CMC (China Media Capital) and investment company CITIC Capital. Club insiders believe the investment deal will open up the vast untapped market in China in a way that no other top-flight side has so far managed. A series of tours of China by City is now expected, possibly starting as soon as next summer, and there are expected to be numerous other openings such as content and sponsorship deals. Code:

Re: Mutv
Buat yang hobi bikin film pendek, silahkan ikut
MUTV TO LAUNCH SHORT-FILM COMPETITION Wednesday 28 September will mark the launch of MUTV films, a series of short features covering the lives of three passionate Manchester United fans. We’re also looking for amateur film makers to send in their own contributions to be entered into a competition. It’s open to anyone, and you don’t need to be a professional to create your own movie, just having the passion and time to make it is enough. We’re looking for United fans with interesting lives and stories to turn them into a short film. So, if you’ve got a story, be it entertaining or serious, as long as it’s about Manchester United, then we want to hear it. The three films that will air on the 28 September will help you get an idea of what we’re looking for. The 10 best entries will not only be awarded prizes, but will also have their film broadcast to the world in May 2017. All submissions must be completed and sent by 31 March 2017, so if you’ve got an idea, get filming! The films must be exactly 11 mins 25 seconds in duration and, once it is finished, you should upload it to a video streaming website (such as YouTube, Vimeo etc.) before emailing a link to the video to mutvfilms@manutd.co.uk. So what are you waiting for? Go and turn your idea into a film that could be seen by millions! http://www.manutd.com/ |

Re: Mutv

Re: Mutv
Parah nih MUTV hahaha...
Most awkward phone-in ever? Usain Bolt calls MUTV but Manchester United presenters don't believe it's really him Manchester United's comeback win against Middlesbrough at Old Trafford on New Year's Eve was so enthralling, it prompted Olympic sprinting legend Usain Bolt to call the club's post-match radio phone-in on MUTV. United overcame a 0-1 deficit with two goals in two minutes late in the game, but few at the club expected the performance to receive such an endorsement from one of United's most illustrious supporters. MUTV presenter Mandy Henry admitted afterwards that they didn't think the caller was the real deal until Bolt confirmed his call on Twitter. Moving through a series of callers as she discussed the match, Henry said: "Our next caller is in Jamaica, we're heading over there to speak to Usain - it's not Usain Bolt is it?" "It is Usain Bolt, it is Usain Bolt," the caller assured. MUTV pundits Gordon McQueen (left) and Lou Macari look nonplussed at Usain Bolt's surprise call CREDIT: MUTV He elaborated that he was very happy to see the side emulate the late-scoring heroics of successful Man Utd sides of years gone by. "They really came through, as if it was the old Manchester United," Bolt said. "They pushed on, they persevered - the Manchester United way. It was a great match, I'm very happy." The 'triple-triple' Olympic sprint champion later verified on social media that it was indeed he who had made an appearance on the show. "Come on lad of course it was me on Man Utd TV just now," he wrote in a post to his official Twitter profile. Sadly, with the show's presenters and producers convinced it wasn't really Usain speaking, the greatest sprinter in world history was not invited to ruminate further on United's development under new manager Jose Mourinho. Will he ever call again after this? Henry was still very courteous in chivvying him off the line: "OK Usain, thanks very much, have you get any big plans for New Year's [Eve] in Jamaica?" Usain replies: "No, just home, and a few fireworks." Henry presses on: "Very nice, Usain, very nice. Well, you enjoy it. Thanks very much for phoning." www.telegraph.co.uk |
