Manchester - Ada cerita menarik antara pemain Manchester United, Scott McTominay dan Bruno Fernandes. Itu karena postingan foto sixpack.

Beberapa waktu lalu kala isolasi diri, Scott McTominay memposting foto sedang berlatih di rumah. Dia pun memamerkan perut sixpack-nya.

Tak ayal, fotonya dikomentari netizen. Menariknya, salah satu pemain Manchester United, Bruno Fernandes juga memberikan komentar.

"Scottyyyyyy training with the ball is really important, don't forget that," tulis Bruno Fernandes.

Menurut kamu, bagus nggak nasihatnya Bruno Fernandes?
Wooow...six packnya McTominay dahsyat...
Tapi bener itu saran dari Bruno

'The whole club is behind him': Scott McTominay insists under-fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dressing room's full backing amid reports Bruno Fernandes has become disillusioned with the Manchester United boss

* Solskjaer under pressure after United lose two of opening three league games
* Scott McTominay credits the Old Trafford boss for helping develop his game
* Manchester United have failed to build on promising post lock-down form
* Bruno Fernandes left 'bemused' by club's inability to significantly strengthen

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay has claimed he and his team-mates are behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after rumours circulated that Bruno Fernandes had lost faith in the manager.

The 23-year-old insists the Norwegian still has the backing of the United dressing room, despite a poor start to the season.

The Red Devils have lost two of their opening three league fixtures and the pressure is building on Solskjaer.

Scott McTominay insists his manager still has backing of the Old Trafford dressing room. Bruno Fernandes has reportedly lost faith in Solskjaer's ability to take United forward

United finished in third place last season but thus far have been incapable of building on their encouraging post-lockdown form.

After a home defeat on the opening day to Crystal Palace, Solskjaer's side picked up a bit of momentum by beating Luton in the third round of the Carabao Cup before securing back-to-back wins against Brighton in the Premier League and the fourth round of the league cup.

Any impetus garnered from those three successive wins was obliterated after a rampant Tottenham team thrashed them 6-1 at Old Trafford before the international break.

They are already a massive nine points behind league leaders Everton, although they have played a game less.

Fernandes scored for United from the spot in that defeat, taking his tally for the club to 14 in 26 appearances since he arrived in January.

The midfielder who joined from Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon for an initial fee of £47million, reportedly has become disillusioned with his manager's ability to take the club forward.

And he was left bemused at the United's failure to significantly strengthen during the summer transfer window.

McTominay however has rejected any notion of disharmony at Old Trafford.

'The whole club is behind him,' the Scottish international told TV2 while on international duty. 'We believe in every word he says, and it's not just him.

Pressure is building on Solskjaer following United's poor start to the current campaign

'We trust every word from Mike Phelan, Kieran McKenna, Michael Carrick and the entire support staff.'

When asked to to give his own thought's on his manager's two and a half year tenure he added: 'Fantastic. You see it in the way he has developed me and given me playing time and how I have played. That is a lot to his credit.'

United are back in Premier League action away at Newcastle on Saturday, before their focus shifts to their Champions League group stage opener against Paris Saint Germain three days later.

Scott McTominay could only see out of ONE EYE during first half of Manchester United's win over PSG.... as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals midfielder only had one contact lens in!

* Scott McTominay started and played 90 minutes for Man United on Tuesday
* But the midfielder may have been struggling throughout the first-half
* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said McTominay had forgotten to put his contact lens in
* Though his vision was impacted, McTominay contributed to a crucial Utd victory

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has amazingly revealed that Scott McTominay played the whole of the first-half against PSG with just one contact lens in.

The Manchester United midfielder, who started instead of Paul Pogba in a holding role alongside Fred on Tuesday night, performed admirably as United snatched a late win courtesy of Marcus Rashford's drilled strike.

But the 23-year-old would have seemingly struggled throughout the first period after losing his contact lens, as told by Solskjaer after the match, but the 23-year-old still put in an impressive performance.

'Scott's [McTominay] first-half performance was even more impressive considering he only had one contact lens in!' Solskjaer said.

The Scotland international wad dominant in the first-half against opposite number Idrissa Gueye, formerly of Everton.

In fact, McTominay was so in control that Gueye was substituted at half-time by PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, with Moise Kean replacing him.

Scott McTominay played the entirety of the first-half without a contact lens in one eye. But the Manchester United midfielder was still impressive in the centre of the park on Tuesday. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed the Scottish midfielder's sight problem after the encounter. McTominay was dominant up against Idrissa Gueye in central midfield at the Parc des Princes

Bruno Fernandes, captaining his club for the first time, had given United the lead in the first-half following a re-taken penalty, but PSG - last season's runners-up - equalised after Anthony Martial headed into his own net from a corner in the 55th minute.

But amid an open finale to the contest, Rashford converted brilliantly into the corner to clinch the win and three points for Solskjaer's side in their Champions League opener.

Solskjaer was full of praise for his side afterwards, insisting the performance was better then when United beat PSG in March 2019 in the last-16 of the Champions League.

The Man Utd manager said their performance was better than when they won at PSG last year

‘It’s a better performance this time, even though we won 3-1 last time,’ he said.

‘It's a different feeling. It’s at the start of the group stage. Last time it was a knockout and it was euphoric. This is sterile without the fans but it's still excellent and we deserved to win.

‘Axel [Tuanzebe] did fantastic. He’s been out for 10 months and to put in a performance like this against Neymar and [Kylian] Mbappe almost surprised us as well.’

SCOTT CALLS FOR REPEAT OF PARIS PERFORMANCE

Scott McTominay says following up last week’s Champions League win in Paris with three points against RB Leipzig would be ‘massive’.

The Scotland international was speaking on Monday’s episode of United Daily, ahead of our first-ever meeting with the club from eastern Germany.

Like the Reds, Leipzig won their opening game – with a 2-0 victory over Istanbul Basaksehir at the Red Bull Arena – and McTominay is keen for performance levels not to drop as the sides compete for the early advantage in Group H.

“With a big win on Wednesday, it would be massive for everybody and the confidence that we are getting each week, and match by match, it would be really beneficial for the squad,” Scott said.

“There's no point going away to Paris, when it is a big game and the whole world is watching, and doing really well, and then not playing as well or doing all the right things that got you the win in Paris at home against Leipzig.”

The Germans currently sit top of the Bundesliga and have yet to be beaten in the 2020/21 season.

McTominay acknowledges the quality of last season’s Champions League semi-finalists and is prepared for another tricky test to close out a month which has already seen us go up against Tottenham, Newcastle, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.

“We know the intensity that they will bring,” McTominay added.

“They are a terrific team, I watched them a lot last year with a lot of the coaches in the Champions League games that they played.

“They're a very, very intense team with a good coach and good players as well, so it is not going to be an easy game at all.”

Scott McTominay urges lawmakers to 'get football back to the way it was' after seeing VAR offside call go against Manchester United as he vents frustration at the reaction of PSG stars

* Scott McTominay was angered by the officiating and reaction of PSG players
* United blew their chance to secure their place in knockout phase as they lost 3-1
* The Group H tie between Man United and PSG at Old Trafford was a fiery one

Scott McTominay was angered by the officiating and reaction of Paris Saint-Germain's players in a defeat that leaves Manchester United's Champions League hopes hanging in the balance.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side started Group H with impressive wins against the perennial French champions and RB Leipzig, but head into the final matchday level on nine points with those sides.

United blew their chance to secure their place in the knockout phase with a match to spare on Wednesday evening, when a point against last season's Champions League finalists PSG would have been enough.

Scott McTominay was angered by the officiating and reaction of Paris Saint-Germain's players. A narrow VAR offside call went Marquinhos' way in the second half of Champions League clash

Marcus Rashford's deflected effort cancelled out an early Neymar strike in a first half that saw Fred somehow avoid a red card for pushing his head into that of Leandro Paredes.

The United midfielder would get his marching orders after collecting a second yellow card shortly after Marquinhos scored in the second half, with Neymar wrapping up a 3-1 win for PSG in stoppage-time.

'It's a tough pill to swallow when you watch the way the game pans out,' United midfielder McTominay said.

'Obviously it's a sloppy goal to concede and then the way we played after that I thought we were brilliant. I thought that the way we approached the game was with total focus.

'The way the game panned out in general was - I've not really got an awful lot to comment on the way the referee, their players... but that's football. You're going to get that when you play in Europe.'

McTominay and Neymar had a coming together late in the first half, with the pair arguing as they headed towards the tunnel.

The Group H tie between United and PSG at Old Trafford on Wednesday night was a fiery one

McTominay and Neymar had a coming together late in the first half, with the pair arguing

United responded well after half-time, with Anthony Martial wasting two great opportunities and Edinson Cavani seeing an audacious chipped effort hit the bar.

'We've got so much quality up there and the coaches and all the players in general have got such belief in the strikers in general,' McTominay said.

'Sometimes the ball just doesn't go in the net. That can be football but, as I say, decisions, referees, their players. It's a tough night.

'Whenever we're coming away from that game with nothing... I even said at half-time if we don't get anything from this game, then we should be coming into this dressing room so disappointed and angry with each other that we've not.

'But, as I say, decisions and VAR can change football.'

When a narrow VAR offside call that went Marquinhos' way shortly before Fred picked up a second yellow card for a seemingly clean challenge was put to McTominay, he said shaking his head: 'The reaction of their players is... I've got nothing to say about that.

'Obviously you get in trouble if you start speaking about reactions and the referee and stuff like that.

'I'm hearing that their goal was partly offside as well from our dressing room. I've not seen it back.

'So, for us, where's the balance in the game with how the referees approach decisions?

'For us, we're seeing it week in, week out, which is they're making mistakes so, for us, it has to be rectified. Get football back to the way it was.'

McTominay's frustration was palpable, but he vowed to take positives heading into next week's crunch clash in Leipzig.

Solskjaer's men beat the German outfit 5-0 at Old Trafford and need a positive result to progress to the round of 16.

'The result at home is completely out of the equation now,' McTominay told MUTV.

'We forget about that. It's a game where we have to go and win. It's a game where you can't just go there and play for a point. You have to go and approach it like you want to win that football match and that's definitely what we're going to do.'

Fans praise Scott McTominay for showing 'no mercy' and having an 'elite mentality' by urging Manchester United team-mates to rush back after ninth goal against Southampton so they could go for a 10th

* Manchester United hammered Southampton 9-0 in Tuesday's demolition
* Daniel James scored ninth goal for his side and Scott McTominay wanted more
* He was seen gesturing to grab the ball, rather than celebrate, to make it 10
* Fans loved his ruthless streak and plenty praised his mentality on social media

Scott McTominay has been praised for his ruthless streak after footage emerged of him when Manchester United scored their ninth goal against Southampton.

The clip shows McTominay gesturing to get the ball back as soon as Daniel James had tapped in the 93rd-minute goal.

The Welshman wheeled away in celebration but his team-mate was not satisfied with the 9-0 thumping and wanted more.

Video of the ninth goal shows McTominay inside the penalty area immediately pointing to retrieve the ball from the back of the net.

He then looks slightly deflated when none of his United team-mates oblige.

United fans enjoyed watching it back, with one writing: 'Saw this in the highlights and laughed! No mercy from Scott.'

One labelled him a 'future captain', while another hailed his 'elite mentality'.

McTominay scored his side's sixth goal of the rout against Southampton on Tuesday

McTominay was the victim of Alex Jankewitz's nasty early tackle which resulted in the Southampton man being sent off two minutes into the game.

The floodgates then opened with Aaron Wan-Bissaka breaking the deadlock, Marcus Rashford, a Jan Bednarek own goal and an Edinson Cavani header put United four up.

In the second half, Anthony Martial scored No 5 while McTominay himself netted the sixth from long range with a cleanly struck shot.

Bruno Fernandes, Anthony Martial and then James added their names to the scoresheet to complete the humiliating rout, but it still wasn't enough for McTominay, who clearly wanted double figures.

Solskjaer praises former striker McTominay for finishing with 'authority' against West Ham... with the midfielder having scored more goals for United than Pogba, Fred and Van de Beek COMBINED this season!

* Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Scott McTominay for finishing with 'authority'
* McTominay scored an extra-time winner against West Ham United in the FA Cup
* He has now scored more than Paul Pogba, Fred, Nemanja Matic and Donny Van de Beek combined this season

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Scott McTominay for his 'authoritative' finishing after he scored an extra-time winner against West Ham in the FA Cup.

McTominay broke the deadlock seven minutes into extra time - earning United a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals - and bringing his goal tally for the season up to seven.

McTominay - who used to play as a forward - has now scored more goals than Paul Pogba, Donny van de Beek, Fred and Nemanja Matic combined this season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised ex-striker Scott McTominay for finishing with 'authority'

Solskjaer claims McTominay enjoys occupying dangerous areas, saying: 'Scott has really, really developed that part of his game this season.

'Of course we let him go into the box more often, unleash him. You see that he doesn't mind being in those positions. He's a very good striker of the ball and a very clinical finisher.

'As he was a forward or a striker in his younger days, you can see his authority when he gets a chance to finish.'

Solskjaer felt his players provided the perfect response to their disappointing 3-3 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Speaking of their 1-0 win over West Ham, he said: 'I felt we dominated. I thought we were in complete control of the first half.

McTominay scored an extra-time winner against West Ham United in the FA Cup on Tuesday. McTominay has now scored more than Paul Pogba, Fred, Nemanja Matic and Donny Van de Beek combined this season

'In the second half it became more of a game. When it's only 1-0 and we are wasteful, anything can happen to us - we knew that from the last game [Everton].

'It's just about finishing the game off but we're through. We're in the hat and that's what we wanted.

'I think we got about 15 to 17 shots in the end but we need to be more clinical. We should've finished the game off earlier and finished in 90 minutes but sometimes it doesn't happen.

'We needed to have a good result and a good feeling today because we were low after the Everton game. It's hard to take but they were really focused and did the job.

'Of course you want to win every game. We want to challenge and we want to go to the final. That's what we're here at Manchester United for.

'Sometimes you're lucky with draws in the cup - we haven't been that lucky - but obviously we move another step closer to the final.'

The result sees United reach the last eight for a seventh consecutive year. However, Solskjaer will be eager to see the club lift the trophy for the first time since 2016.

United will be back in action at West Brom in the Premier League this Sunday.

Rio Ferdinand tips Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay to take on 'the type of influence' Jordan Henderson enjoys at Liverpool - but insists Scotsman must be put 'alongside the right personnel' first

* Manchester United star Scott McTominay has been praised by Rio Ferdinand
* Ferdinand has tipped McTominay to hold plenty of influence at Old Trafford
* Former United man Ferdinand even says he can emulate Jordan Henderson
* McTominay's development relies heavily on United's team, Ferdinand added

Rio Ferdinand believes Scott McTominay will be able to hold a similar influence at Manchester United as Jordan Henderson does at Liverpool, but warned the team must be 'built the right way' to help him flourish.

Scotland international McTominay has played often for United this season, having been handed 27 starts in all competitions, but faces stern competition at the heart of midfield.

Despite the inconsistencies McTominay has been criticised for at points, Ferdinand views the 24-year-old as a promising player and one who can go on to enjoy a similar role to Anfield regular Henderson.

Rio Ferdinand praised Manchester United's Scott McTominay and tipped his influence to grow. Ferdinand says McTominay may have influence at United like Jordan Henderson with Liverpool

'I think that McTominay can be and grow into the type of influence that Jordan Henderson has at Liverpool over the last couple of years, if the team is built the right way,' Ferdinand told Vibe with FIVE.

'I think he's got the personality, the character, the right attributes.

'He can cover the ground, takes the ball… yes, he's not a passer like Bruno [Fernandes] or [Paul] Pogba but he doesn't need to be when you've got players like that in your team.'

First-team superstars Fernandes and Pogba have often carried the burden for United's attacking forays through midfield this campaign, with McTominay and usual partner Fred singled out for some sloppy errors.

As a result, Ferdinand wants to see McTominay partnered with another player, namely one more adept at complimenting his abilities.

Ferdinand added: 'He's got no better coach for that position, marshalling the midfield area and giving it to the players in the number 10 roles, etc, than Michael Carrick and Darren Fletcher, who are at the club now.

'Given time he can, but he needs to be put alongside the right personnel and Fred isn't that guy.

McTominay has featured often for United this season and Ferdinand highlighted his strengths. Fred is typically McTominay's partner in centre midfield but has been criticised this campaign

'McTominay could have an influence on this team, he's got the character, the personality. Around the training ground he drives a lot of the things that go on in terms of the culture of the club, the voice.

'He's very confident, got a good nature about him, works hard, got a good work ethic. They're the kind of traits you want to see. He brings value.

'He's good at a lot of the things that the other players don't bring.'

Henderson, a key face for England, sported the captain's armband for Liverpool's Premier League success last season, and also led from the fore during their Champions League-winning campaign.

McTominay, meanwhile, will look to play a part in United lifting the Europa League this month.

A raft of team-mates will also hope to get the nod from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, with Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek and Juan Mata on the fringes.
