Manchester United 'are readying a summer move for Robert Lewandowski - with the striker seeking clarity on his Bayern Munich future and surprised at receiving no contract extension yet'

* Robert Lewandowski's contract at Bayern Munich expires at the end of next term
* Lewandowski is 'surprised' that talks over a contract extension haven't begun yet
* Manchester United are facing a clear-out in the striking department this summer

Manchester United's rebuild for next season is already underway with the club preparing a move for Bayern Munich superstar Robert Lewandowski, claim reports.

The prolific striker has less than 18 months left on his contract in Bavaria but is yet to receive fresh terms of an extension.

And according to BILD, United are monitoring the 33-year-old's situation at Bayern and are lining up a deal to entice to him to move to Old Trafford.

They claim that the Red Devils are ready to make a first offer for his services if he does leave Bayern.

During the latest edition of 'Stammplatz', BILD's daily football podcast, reporter Heiko Niedderer intimated that Bayern should speed up the process in tying down their No 9 to an extension as a result.

He said: 'The bosses should now quickly get down to business and extend the contract quickly.'

Niedderer added that Lewandowski is 'surprised' that no one reached out to him at the German giants over a new deal and that the Poland international wants clarity about his future by this summer.

Robert Lewandowski is a summer transfer target of Manchester United's, according to reports. His Bayern Munich deal expires next summer and is 'surprised' extension talks haven't begun. The 33-year-old demonstrated his class once again on Tuesday with a hat-trick vs RB Salzburg

Lewandowski demonstrated his never-ending class on Tuesday night as he scored a 10-minute hat-trick in Bayern's 7-1 win over RB Salzburg in the Champions League last-16 second leg.

That treble helped him reach the 40-goal mark in all competitions for the seventh successive season.

A striker appears to be a priority for Manchester United this summer with doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford's futures at the club. Then there is the much-publicised Mason Greenwood affair too.

However, there is no guarantee Lewandowski would consider a move to United with their top-four hopes in doubt this season.

Manchester United 'are considering a fresh summer transfer move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane' after suffering a blow in the chase for Borussia Dortmund scoring sensation Erling Haaland

* Manchester United look set to target Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer
* The Red Devils look to have missed out on any chance of signing Erling Haaland
* Spurs face another transfer window of persuading Kane to stay at the club

Manchester United are reportedly considering making a fresh move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer.

The Red Devils are watching the situation closely as rivals Manchester City have switched their focus to Borussia Dortmund star Erling Haaland in the upcoming transfer window.

Pep Guardiola's side were chasing England international Kane last summer, but Spurs held firm and refused to sell, although they now face yet another window of trying the persuade the forward to stay.

The 29-year-old has rediscovered his best form under Antonio Conte and they'll hope the Italian being in charge can keep him at the club.

Kane, however, has just two years left on his deal which may see Spurs more keen to listen to offers rather than risk losing him for nothing once his contract runs down, according to the Mirror.

United need a star centre forward as Cristiano Ronaldo is 37 and Edinson Cavani has become a bit-part player and they face losing out on Haaland to either City or Real Madrid this summer.

Manchester United could make a fresh move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane this summer. Kane was a target for Manchester City, but they have switched their focus to Erling Haaland. United look set to miss out on Haaland, who could be heading to either City or Real Madrid

That has reignited interest in Kane who has made it plain he wants to win trophies which was the driving force behind him wanting to join City last summer.

It could also be a chance for Kane to potentially link back up with Mauricio Pochettino as the former Spurs boss is on United’s hit list to become their next manager should he leave PSG this summer.

United would not be a guarantee of success and they are desperately battling to get into the top four this season.

The Red Devils were one of the interested parties last summer but instead signed Ronaldo.

Rio Ferdinand claims he 'doesn't care who Man United bring in' if the culture is not right at the club as he shuts down ex-team-mate Owen Hargreaves' call for the Red Devils to sign 'young and hungry' Jude Bellingham

* Manchester United faced Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16
* Ahead of the game, Owen Hargreaves called for United make a big signing
* The former midfielder claimed they need to sign a player like Jude Bellingham
* But Rio Ferdinand insisted signings do not matter if the club culture is not right

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves insisted the Red Devils need to make a big statement in the summer by making a move for Jude Bellingham but ex-team-mate Rio Ferdinand quickly shutdown the claim.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder turned down a move to Old Trafford in 2020, instead preferring a switch to the Bundesliga when he left his boyhood club.

But the 18-year-old has since been linked with a move to United and amid their recent struggles Hargreaves believes they are in need of 'young and hungry' players like Bellingham.

'They don’t have a coach for next year,' he told BT Sport ahead of the Red Devil's Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.

'We don’t know who the sporting director is, there is a lot of players out of contract. Pogba and Cavani. Martial’s situation.

'I’m optimistic as Manchester United has the opportunity to go out and get anyone, and everyone wants to come here, but you’ve got to start somewhere.

Owen Hargreaves called for Manchester United to make a move for Jude Bellingham (pictured). The former midfielder insisted the Red Devils have the opportunity to 'get anyone'. But Rio Ferdinand argued signings do not matter if the culture at the club is not right

'Get a coach in, get a sporting director in, go get Jude Bellingham. Set out your signs, I think they need young, hungry dynamic guys. Jude is a guy I would start with.'

But Ferdinand disagreed, claiming the signings do not matter unless the culture is right at the club.

'I don't think it's about who you sign, you can see from this summer I don't think anyone was screaming louder than me,' he retorted.

'We've got Ronaldo. We've got Varane and big players coming through the door. Winners that understand the game.

'If the culture is not right at the football club, I don't care who you bring in.

'Sir Alex Ferguson is a great manager and done great things here. As soon as he walked out the door, at the time when he was here, we thought it was us as the players. We're doing it.

'The manager goes, you need someone to steer the ship. Manchester United aren't in that position right now.'

Manchester United 'scout Ajax star Ryan Gravenberch' as they look to strengthen their midfield... but the Dutch wonderkid 'would prefer a move to Bayern Munich' where his agent Mino Raiola has strong connections

* Manchester United are scouting Ajax's teenage midfielder Ryan Gravenberch
* The midfield is seen as a priority position for United during the summer window
* The 19-year-old though would favour a move to Bundesliga side Bayern Munich
* Gravenberch's agent, Mino Raiola, has strong connections at the German giants

Manchester United have reportedly scouted highly-rated Ajax midfielder Ryan Gravenberch as they consider a potential move to bring him to Old Trafford.

The youngster is one of the most highly-rated teenagers in world football and has been linked with a host of top European sides.

Midfield is seen as a priority position for United to strengthen during the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Athletic have reported that the 19-year-old is a key target for the Red Devils as they look to the future following their disappointing Champions League exit.

One potential problem though is a man they are well aware of in the form of football super-agent Mino Raiola.

Raiola, who United have experienced issues with in relation to their current midfield star Paul Pogba, also represents Gravenberch.

The Ajax star favours a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, where Raiola is said to have strong connections.

Gravenberch is the latest player to have come through Ajax's famous youth academy which also produced Donny van de Beek, who left United on loan to Everton in January.

He became a regular at the club last season and has already made 97 appearances for the Dutch side, scoring 11 goals.

Standing at 6'2' the Dutchman is physically robust, has excellent feet and has the ability to get out of tight spaces.

At Ajax, he has mainly operated in a double pivot and drops deep to help facilitate build-up play.

One key factor over whether he should move to United is whether they qualify for the Champions League.

The Red Devils, who are going to go trophy-less for the fifth season in a row, are one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal who have two games in hand.

Manchester United 'are keeping tabs on highly-rated defender Nikola Milenkovic ahead of summer transfer window... but will face competition from Serie A giants Inter Milan to sign the Fiorentina star'

* Manchester United are said to be scouting Fiorentina player Nikola Milenkovic
* United scouts were at the Artemio Franchi to watch the Serbian international
* Red Devils are said to be interested in signing a defender in the summer window
* Milenkovic is highly sought after and is also targeted by Italian giants Inter Milan

Manchester United are reportedly scouting highly-rated Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Serbian international has made 24 appearances in Serie A this season and has garnered a reputation as one of the best young defenders in the league over the past few years.

With his contract coming to an end in 2023, Milenkovic is likely to make a move in the summer - with reports in Italy claiming United and others are keeping tabs on the defender.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, United scouts were at the Artemio Franchi to watch the Serbia international during their Serie A clash with Bologna last weekend.

Despite United's interest, Milenkovic is also among said to be among Inter Milan's targets to replace Stefan de Vrij in the summer, which could jeopardise a potential move to Old Trafford.

The Nerazzurri are said to be keeping a close eye on the centre-back, and will monitor him on Saturday when Fiorentina travel to the reigning Italian champions.

Milenkovic has made over 160 appearances for Fiorentina since signing on a free transfer from Partizan Belgrade in 2017.

Manchester United scouts have reportedly been watching Nikola Milenkovic in recent weeks. Red Devils are said to be interested in recruiting a defender in the summer transfer window. United could face competition from Inter Milan in their bid to sign the Fiorentina defender

Elsewhere, Paul Merson called for Manchester United to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming window too by signing Declan Rice - with the England star also being linked with a move to Chelsea.

'Declan Rice should strike while the iron's hot and leave West Ham this summer,' he wrote in a column for the Daily Star.

'He's taken his game to another level this season and is playing like N'Golo Kante now, affecting things at both ends of the pitch.

'Where could he go? Depends what happens at Chelsea and who buys the club. Manchester United would be a good move, but will they get in the Champions League? That's where Rice wants to play,' Merson added.

Manchester United 'target Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou with David De Gea potentially heading for the exit door to earn a Spain re-call ahead of the 2022 Qatar World Cup' - despite claiming he is 'happy' at the Red Devils

* Manchester United target the signing of Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou
* The Red Devils are lining up the 29-year-old incase David De Gea opts to leave
* De Gea may leave Old Trafford to earn a Spain re-call ahead of the World Cup

Manchester United are targeting Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou with David De Gea potentially looking to move on to help him earn a place back in the Spain squad ahead of the 2022 World Cup.

The Canada-born Morocco international has been one of the best keepers in La Liga in this campaign and is in fierce competition with Real Madrid's Thibaut Courtois for accolade of goalkeeper of the season.

Bounou, 29, has two years to run on his deal with Sevilla from the end of this season and it will cost around £25million to trigger the release clause in that contract.

Sevilla are aware of the interest in Bounou and are keen to extend his current deal to deter United among other big European clubs, according to the Mirror.

Manchester United are targeting Sevilla goalkeeper Yassine Bounou (pictured) if David De Gea decides to move on. The 29-year-old has been a stand-out performer in the LaLiga this season and has two years left on his deal at Sevilla

David de Gea recently entered the final 18 months of his contract at Old Trafford which may tempt United to cash in on him and bring in a new goalkeeper depending on whoever is appointed manager at the club during the summer.

De Gea's omission comes as a surprise given his solid form for United this season, which recently saw him claim their Player of the Month prize in January.

He has made the second-highest number of Premier League saves in 2021/22, with his tally of 105 only bettered by Leeds shot-stopper Illan Meslier (111).

Spain boss Luis Enrique named three goalkeepers in his squad and rather than select De Gea has handed a first call-up to Brentford's David Raya.

Spain's first choice Unai Simon and Brighton's Robert Sanchez have filled the two other goalkeeping spots in Enrique's squad.

Current Red Devils goalkeeper David De Gea could move on to restore his place in the Spain squad ahead of the World Cup. De Gea's omission from the Spain squad came as a surprise after being named United's player of the month in January

'It is part of the tracing we do with the goalkeepers,' Enrique said, in relation to Raya's first call-up.

'He is a player who is doing very well. I really want to see it in the context of the selection. He has the necessary profile to play with us.'

De Gea has been one of the standout performers for the Red Devils this season but having not played for Spain since October 2020 his place at the World Cup in Qatar later this year is in question.

The 31-year-old, however, recently claimed he is happy with United and would extend his stay.

'I like the fact I was born in Madrid, but at the end of the day, it's just a city. Now I feel as if I'm from Manchester; I just feel like anyone else from Manchester.

'Where you are loved and welcomed is your home. I've been here for many years and, obviously, anything can happen in life, in the world of football, but honestly, I don't see myself away from Manchester United.'

Inter Milan are interested in signing Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez.

As reported by Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter are targeting Cavani, who is out of contract at the end of June.

Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Cavani, who remains highly sought after despite being 35 years old.

Inter are looking to bolster their attacking options and former United forward Sanchez could be allowed to depart.

Inter Milan are considering signing Manchester United's Edinson Cavani on a free transfer. If Cavani joins Inter then he could be a replacement for ex-United forward Alexis Sanchez. Cavani, who has also been linked with Barcelona, has struggled with injuries this season

Cavani has scored two goals in 17 appearances for United this season, with injuries restricting his playing time. Last season he got 17 goals in 39 games for United.

The Uruguayan could be tempted by a return to Serie A, where he previously played for Napoli and Palermo.

Atletico Madrid's Luis Suarez and Dries Mertens of Napoli have also been linked with Inter.

United's other attacking options include Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Elanga.

Cavani joined United in October 2020 and signed a new one-year deal last year. However, he could depart on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Therefore, the Red Devils have identified Richarlison - who has two years remaining on his contract at Everton - as a potential target.

Manchester United are said to be assessing Richarlison's situation at Everton as the club's potential relegation could see him opt for a move away from Goodison Park this summer.

According to Goal Brazil, United have been keeping tabs on Richarlison for the last two seasons after being impressed with his goal return at Everton.

Richarlison has become one of Everton's biggest assets given his impressive goal scoring tally for the Toffees.

However, he has struggled for form this season - having scored just four goals in 22 Premier League appearances so far.

‘It’s hard to talk about leaving, because I have great affection for Everton, I have music, I have everything here.

‘It’s very complicated to talk about leaving, I’m not prepared for this moment, but the we never know tomorrow.

‘We have to be aware and prepared for everything. Let’s make this season there so that, in the next one, we can see what will happen.’

Arsenal 'will offer Marcus Rashford an escape route from Man United this summer' as Mikel Arteta prepares to make the England star his new striker after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford and out of favour with Gareth Southgate

* Marcus Rashford has endured a difficult season at Manchester United this term
* The striker has fallen out of favour under interim boss Ralf Rangnick in 2022
* His loss of form meant he was dropped from Gareth Southgate's England squad
* Arsenal are expected to try to sign the England international this summer

Arsenal will try to sign Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford this summer, according to reports.

Mikel Arteta's side are set to be short of attacking options at the end of the season as Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are both out of contract in June.

The two strikers have only scored one top-flight goal between them in 2022.

Meanwhile, Arsenal also allowed former captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Barcelona in January.

This has left them looking for alternatives to play up front, and the Gunners have identified Rashford as a suitable target, as reported by The Mirror.

Rashford has fallen out of favour in recent months at Old Trafford, starting just three league matches since the turn of the year.

He has only scored five goals in all competitions this term - some way down on the 21 that he managed in 2020-21.

Arsenal are interested in signing Marcus Rashford in the upcoming summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta may lose out-of-contract duo Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah this summer. Rashford has scored just five league goals this season and has struggled for minutes lately

His lack of game time has led to him considering his future at the club, and he was dealt a further blow when Gareth Southgate left him out of his latest England squad.

Southgate subsequently vowed to meet with Rashford to try to help the 24-year-old to rediscover his best form.

With the World Cup just eight months away, Rashford may decide that a change of scenery is needed to get his career back on track.

His current deal at United is due to expire in 2023, although the club do have the option to extend his contract by a further year.
