berita ini benar2 menyedihkan,
mudah2an musim ini kondisi Hargo membaik, kalaupun performanya tidak seperti dulu, setidaknya sembuh dari cedera.
kalaupun harus gantung sepatu, masih banyak tempat dan selalu ada tempat di United.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has expressed his 'concern' at Owen Hargreaves' ongoing knee problems.

The midfielder has suffered a succession of complaints, regularly finding himself forced under the knife in an effort to make a full recovery from tendinitis in both knees.

As yet, no long-term solution has been found and the England international is set to sit out the start of the 2010/11 campaign as a result of his latest setback.

Hargreaves has made only a handful of appearances over the course of the last two seasons, with his progress at Old Trafford restricted by lengthy spells on the sidelines.
Treatment

It appears as though he is set for further troubles over the coming months, with Ferguson having already revealed that he is unsure when the 29-year-old will be available again.

For now, Hargreaves is set to continue with his treatment in the United States, where he has spent much of the last two years, and will not return to England with the rest of his team-mates once United's pre-season tour of North America comes to a close.

Ferguson told MUTV: "He had a recurrence of the knee injury which is of great concern to us. He will remain there (America) until he is ready to come back and train.

"There is no point in leaving the people who are treating him and did the operation and we have to send him back again. It is pointless."

Owen Hargreaves told to stay in America to prove he has a future at Manchester United by Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson has cast fresh doubt over Owen Hargreaves’ chances of recovering from a career-threatening knee condition, admitting that Manchester United have ‘great concern’ over the England midfielder.

Canada-born Hargreaves was missing when United kicked off their pre-season tour with a 3-1 win over Celtic in Toronto after flying to Colorado to see Richard Steadman, the surgeon who operated on both his knees in an attempt to cure a chronic case of tendinitis.

Ferguson revealed that Hargreaves, a £17million signing from Bayern Munich whose only first-team appearance since September 2008 was 30 seconds as an injury-time substitute in the penultimate game of last season, will stay with Steadman until they have identified what lies behind his latest setback.
The United manager said: ‘He is back in Colorado with a recurrence of the knee injury, which is of great concern to us. He will remain there until he is ready to come back into training. There is no point in him leaving the people who have treated him and performed the operation, only for us to send him back again.’

There was better news for Ferguson on the pitch after goals from Dimitar Berbatov, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley.

‘The first game is never easy and always the one you want out of the way,’ said the United boss.

‘Over the years, all games with Celtic have been very competitive. The Scotland-England thing motivates both sets of players.

‘There was a little bit of boredom in training because the players had their seven days at Carrington, four days in Chicago and they were desperate for a game. One thing pre-season always brings on is that desire to get back playing.

‘The youngsters will eventually be the next United and we have a strong belief in their abilities. The important thing is it gives proper spirit in a football club to get young players through the way we do.’
