Fryers targets Reds return



Ezekiel Fryers is*already plotting his return to United’s first team, *just*a few hours*after his official Reds debut ended in victory over rivals Leeds at Elland Road.

The 19-year old defender, who was one of 11 changes made by Sir Alex Ferguson for the Carling Cup third round clash on Tuesday, put in an impressive shift against Simon Grayson’s side before leaving the action on 80 minutes with cramp.

And having enjoyed*a sample of first team duties, Fryers explained to MUTV why he is hungry for more: “It was really good to come up to the first team, it was a massive experience and it was great to play against Leeds at Elland Road.

“It was a massive night for me. It was quality and a massive step up, so I was happy to get 80 minutes in.

"I had to come off with a bit of cramp so now it’s all about working hard with the Reserves and*getting fitter so that*I’m ready for whenever these chances might come again.”

Fryers was joined at Elland Road by fellow debutants Larnell Cole and Paul Pogba, who both stepped off the bench to produce accomplished, steady performances against noteworthy Championship opposition which*was a*comforting point for the Reds' defender.

“It was good to have Larnell and Pogba alongside me when they came on," he added. "We have been playing together for a long time, so this was massive for all of us.”

maklum lah, dulu pas zaman waktu masih ada ASTRO MUTV .. masih bisa ngeliat pemain2 muda nya beraksi ... jd mungkin tau ..

Tinggi badan 183, yaaa sebenernya cukup sih jd CB, seperti Cannavaro, tp untuk ukuran liga inggris, riskan

Dy bisa berposisi di CB ama Fullback, mendingan dimaksimalin di Fulback nya aja kali ya,,,

cukup terkesan liat nih anak maen, bermain di elland road yg atmosfirnya cukup "panas" tapi dia mampu bermain baik sepanjang pertandingan sampai kakinya kram..sepertinya dia punya confidence yg tinggi, umpan kaki kirinya lumayan bagus karena dia mungkin awalnya LB ya jadi passingnya cenderung kidal...

pernah denger namanya tapi blom pernah liat permainannya.. penasaran nih.. apakah dia cukup menjanjikan untuk jadi pemain masa depan United ato tidak..

Nyari2 tapi nggak nemu juga. Dulu seingatku aku pernah posting komentar Ferdinand tentang pemaen muda United yang sumbernya dari tribalfootball. Diberita itu disebutkan klo Ferdinand bilang pemaen bertahan yang musti menurut dia punya masa depan bagus dan harus terus diikuti adalah Ezekiel Fryers.

Dulu aku nggak paham maksud dia coz di U-18 dia jarang maen rutin (klo dibandingin pogba, tunnicliffe, bahkan Thorpe) dan baru akhir2 ini sering maen di reserve. Hanya kini mulai sedikit tertarik setelah partai lawan Leeds. Dia dipilih dibanding Thorpe oleh Fergie padahal Thorpe kapten U-18 yang juara FA junior, sejak awal adalah CB plus postur yang lebih tinggi. Normalnya Fergie milih Thorpe tapi ternyata milih Fryers.

Moga partai kemaren jadi awal yang bagus buat dia... nggak hanya numpang lewat aja, amin...

katanya sih sering cedera om waktu dia di u18 jadi jarang maen...lini belakang lebih pada thorpe, mcginty..posisi naturalnya sih LB dan dia kidal banget wkwkwkwk...pengen liat thorpe maen di tim utama sama fryers...

Busy Fryers being tested


Warren Joyce has revealed the rationale behind fielding Ezekiel Fryers in three different teams already this season.

The 19-year-old made an accomplished debut in the Carling Cup against Leeds after starring for the Reserves this term and also appearing as an over-aged player in the Academy win against the Elland Road outfit.

The United staff were keen to improve Fryers' communication skills*as he develops into a leader at the back.

"You are just trying to improve them and develop them in all ways," Joyce told ManUtd.com. "Talking, particularly for defenders, is another skill in terms of organisation. You need to be good at that and it put the onus on him by playing him in the Under-18s with that in mind.

"He needed to talk more and move people into positions and could practise doing that. He then carried on with that in a couple of the Reserves' games.

"To be fair to the kid, he's played a hell of a lot of games already this season - 17 or 18 full games and probably three different teams in the space of two weeks."

Although Sir Alex revealed he perhaps sees Fryers first and foremost as a left-back, Joyce feels the teenager is just as adept in the middle.

"I don't like to pigeon-hole them at this age," he stated. "He can play in both positions and we want him to develop as an all-round footballer.

"He's certainly done well in all the pre-season games at centre-half. He's only had a few games at full-back, against Rochdale maybe, but he's done really well at centre-half against teams like Shrewsbury, Morecambe and Fleetwood in the friendlies and they are all doing well this season so it's been a good test."
