MANCHESTER UNITED'S GYM WILL FIX IT FOR DAVID DE GEA

MANCHESTER UNITED are ready to bulk-up new goalkeeper David de Gea for the physical challenge of the Premier League.

In paying £18million to Atletico Madrid for De Gea, 20, United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced he has signed the best young goalkeeper in the world to succeed the retired Edwin van der Sar.

Now, United plan to assess whether the slim-line keeper needs to go on a special fitness and diet programme to generate more muscle.

De Gea, therefore, could launch his career with the Premier League champs by pumping iron in the gym.

The Spanish starlet has been on holiday since helping his country win the European Under-21 Championships in Denmark last month.
