Manchester United vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Manchester United have slumped to another frustrating point this season as they crashed out of the UEFA Champions League without even reaching the knockout round for the first time since I can remember, and will be left with only the UEFA Europa League to contend for.

It is hard to believe that the second place team can seem so rocked, but between their dip in form since Wayne Rooney was sanctioned by UEFA and now this, it is worrisome to United fans to think they could suffer another form drop due to this embarrassment. On top of it all, Nemanja Vidic looks set for another long injury spell on the sidelines.

Wolverhampton meanwhile looked reinvigorated last week against Sunderland as Steven Fletcher returned to the lineup and was the brace scoring game winner for them after the Black Cats had taken the lead earlier on.

Match Prediction: Manchester United 2 - 1 Wolves

Predicted Manchester United Starting XI: David De Gea, Phil Jones, Rio Ferdinand, Jonathan Evans, Patrice Evra, Ji-Sung Park, Darren Fletcher, Anderson, Nani, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck

Predicted Wolverhampton Wanderers Starting XI: Wayne Hennessey, Stephen Ward, Christophe Berra, Roger Johnson, Richard Stearman, Stephen Hunt, Jamie O'Hara, Karl Henry, Matt Jarvis, Kevin Doyle, Steven Fletcher

Players to Watch: Javier Hernandez and Steven Fletcher

Manchester Utd v Wolves preview

Team news for Saturday afternoon's Premier League clash between Manchester United and Wolves at Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson is hoping Dimitar Berbatov recovers from an ankle injury to give United a much-needed lift.

Skipper Nemanja Vidic (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of the season and other long-term casualties include Javier Hernandez and Tom Cleverley (both ankle), Michael Owen (thigh), Anderson (knee) and Brazilian twins Rafael and Fabio, who were both hurt in the Carling Cup defeat to Crystal Palace.

Michael Carrick returns from suspension and should start in midfield, with Phil Jones reverting to a defensive position.

Wolves midfielder Karl Henry is available after serving a one-match suspension.

Henry was unavailable for the 2-1 home success over Sunderland last weekend after incurring five bookings this season.

Central defender Jody Craddock is rated doubtful to overcome a hamstring injury suffered against the Black Cats.

His likely absence could mean a recall for skipper Roger Johnson who was dropped against Sunderland after a run of poor form.

United (from): De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos, Evans, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evra, Jones, Fryers, Cole, Fletcher, Carrick, Young, Valencia, Park, Gibson, Nani, Giggs, Macheda, Rooney, Welbeck, Berbatov, Diouf.

Wolves (from): Hennessey, De Vries, Stearman, Zubar, Johnson, Craddock, Berra, Ward, Hammill, O'Hara, Hunt, Henry, Guedioura, Jarvis, Doyle, Doherty, Elokobi, Milijas, Edwards, Ebanks-Blake, Fletcher, Doherty.
