Saat ini team Reserve United (U-21) sedang bertanding menghadapi Sunderland U-21 di OT

Starting yg menarik nih (pasca kemenang 1st team United sehari sebelumnya) »
U21 line up. Amos. Janko. McNair. Vermijl. Shaw. Thorpe. Harrop. Anderson. A. Pereira. W. Keane. Januzaj.
Subs. O'hara. Pearson. Rothwell. Grimshaw. Weir.

@manutdreserves: I'm delighted to see LVG at tonight's game. To the best of my knowledge this is his first look at the U21s in person

18 mins. United take the lead. A good interchange with Keane leaves Januzaj to drive the ball into the net

22 mins. 2-0. Pereira gets on the end of a Shaw cross. Good first touch then left foot shot into the net

27 mins. 3-0. Januzaj gets a pass from Keane and very cooly scores. United looking rampant

HT 3-0 thanks to a great save from Amos with the last touch of the half

Old Trafford opportunity for Under-21s

Manchester United's Under-21s face Sunderland on Monday night (19:00 BST) with Warren Joyce's side obtaining another opportunity to play at Old Trafford.

With free admission* for all spectators, the club are hoping a sizeable crowd will take advantage of the fixture as the Reds look to build on the four points accrued from the opening two Barclays Under-21 Premier League.

Tom Lawrence, Guillermo Varela and Davide Petrucci are unvailable after securing moves and Joyce could have a headache over*the balance of his side due to a potential*shortage of out-and-out forwards and left-sided operators.

It is an issue Joyce has addressed superbly in the past by continuing to mould teams who play attractive football and also achieve success at this level.

"These are the problems of Reserves football all the time," he explained. "Regardless of what system we play, we have had problems before with no forwards. We’d like a left-sided centre-half and a left-footed wing-back and would have forwards in the team. We've been*playing with no forwards and there is an inbalance down the left-hand side. Taking that into account, I’ve been really pleased with the way we’ve passed the ball, some of the performances and new information they have taken on board."

Joyce has been pleased with captain Tom Thorpe and Marnick Vermijl, two of the most senior members of his squad and singled them out for praise after the draw at Anfield against Liverpool.

"Both over the course of in being in the Reserves or getting trips out on loan, you just see maturity through players*who are comfortable in their jobs," he explained. "They make the decisions as you would want them to make them. If I’m watching a game, I have a clear picture of what decisions*I want*players to make and they pretty much do it. They have had more work than the others and are further on in their development. There is talent there but there’s a lot of things that all the players have got to improve on."

Another outing at the Theatre of Dreams will be of huge benefit to the younger members of the group.

"It’s a great experience to play at Old Trafford," added Joyce. "It will be different again for us as*just the yardage is different. It’s a bit bigger and another test for us playing the new system and being able to cover the distances at Old Trafford because it is such a big pitch.

"So that’s another good experience for the boys. I expect Sunderland will put out a good team. They are a decent, well-organised and well-drilled side and always play a few older players. It will be a good test for us."

15/09/2014 - ManUtd.com, Adam Marshall
Under-21s: United 4 Sunderland 0

Manchester United's Under-21s*fielded a strong side against Sunderland at Old Trafford and were rewarded with a 4-0 triumph*as Adnan Januzaj bagged a hat-trick.

Lous van Gaal, who attended the clash, perhaps treated the game as more of a traditional Reserves fixture in order to improve the fitness of some of his players. Luke Shaw and Januzaj may still be eligible for this level but their senior status showed as they were joined by Anderson and Will Keane in the starting line-up.

Januzaj took less than two minutes to register a shot into the side-netting following a slide-through pass by Anderson and Maksymilian Stryjek was kept busy by Saidy Janko's cross and a deflected Anderson shot. The powerful Janko smashed a drive off target as a goal seemed increasingly inevitable.

It was supplied in the 19th minute by Januzaj, who was presented with the ball by Stryjek's poor clearance. The Belgian fed Will Keane and, when it was returned to him inside the box, he arrowed home with his left foot.

Andreas Pereira doubled the lead three minutes later when Josh Harrop passed to the overlapping Shaw and his cross from the left was met with instant control and a smart finish*from the Brazil Under-20 international. The Black Cats were in danger of being completely over-run as Will Keane displayed clever hold-up work when found by Shaw and Januzaj profited, illustrating his balance and composure with an assured finish for his second of the night.

Ben Amos had to be alert when Rees Greenwood threatened seconds later but United remained in control with Januzaj twice close to a hat-trick after being picked out splendidly by the rampaging Janko and when lashing into the side-netting following some spellbinding skills.

Amos kept out Carl Lawson's attempt and there was a change at the interval with Ben Pearson replacing Shaw. Although Januzaj and Will Keane had efforts, the sting went out of the Reds' play and Amos was again kept on his toes by Duncan Whatmore.

Anderson was inches away from a fourth when his strike beat Stryjek all ends up but came back off an upright but, to their credit, Sunderland battled on gamely and Liam Agnew was unlucky when firing wide. However, Januzaj had already stung Stryjek's palms when he managed to complete his treble by prodding in from close range*after Marnick Vermijl raided deep into Black Cats territory.

United: Amos; Janko, McNair, Vermijl, Shaw (Pearson 46); Thorpe, Anderson (Rothwell 72), A.Pereira, Harrop; Januzaj (Weir 83), W.Keane. Subs not used O'Hara, Grimshaw.

Adnan Januzaj scores hat-trick against Sunderland for Manchester United's Under 21 side... in front of the watching Louis van Gaal and Ryan Giggs

* The Belgium ace was in devastating form for United's development side
* Luke Shaw and Anderson also starred in Manchester United's win
* Louis van Gaal and Ryan Giggs were at Old Trafford to watch United
* Januzaj replaced Angel di Maria for the last eight minutes of Manchester United's emphatic 4-0 victory against QPR on Sunday

Adnan Januzaj staked a claim for being included in Louis van Gaal's side to face Leicester City at the weekend by netting a hat-trick for Manchester United's Under 21 team against Sunderland.

The Belgium youngster played just eight minutes of Manchester United's emphatic 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers at the weekend after coming on for summer signing Angel di Maria.

Januzaj will have to bide his time at Old Trafford over the course of the season following the arrival of Di Maria, Ander Herrera and Radamel Falcao - but showed his true quality in front of the watching Van Gaal.

Manchester United assistant managers Ryan Giggs and Albert Stuivenberg along with fitness coach Tony Strudwick were also at Old Trafford to witness Januzaj's impressive performance.

First team stars Luke Shaw and Anderson also played a part in Manchester United's victory in a bit to step up their fitness.

Shaw was denied the chance to make his Manchester United debut at the weekend as Van Gaal instead opted to start fellow summer signing Marcos Rojo at left back.

Anderson, on the other hand, was left out of the Dutchman's 18-man squad despite the fact fellow central midfielders Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini missed the game through injury.

Luke Shaw will be hoping to start Manchester United's next Premier League match against Leicester City

Manchester United forked out £30million to bring Luke Shaw to the club from Southampton

Andreas Pereira, who was an unused substitute against QPR at the weekend, grabbed the other goal in a convincing win for Manchester United.

Januzaj's opening goal came in the 19th minute when he played a one-two with Will Keane before placing the ball into the net with a low drive.

Pereira doubled the lead just three minutes later after getting on the end of a cross by Shaw before Januzaj added a third after neat play by Keane.

Januzaj completed the rout in the second half after he beat Sunderland goalkeeper Maksymilian Stryjek from close range.

Under-21s: Spurs 1 United 2

Manchester United's Under-21s won 2-1 with Tottenham Hotspur at Stevenage's Lamex Stadium in a game of few chances until a dramatic conclusion.

Adnan Januzaj's brilliant free-kick was worthy of winning any match but a controversial equaliser within a matter of seconds, by Nathan Oduwa, immediately cancelled it out. As the game moved into injury time, Januzaj turned provider to send over a corner for Tom Thorpe to head in the winner.

Warren Joyce fielded a strong side with plenty of firepower in Januzaj, James Wilson and Will Keane but the Reds struggled to test Luke McGee in the Spurs goal. Wilson did latch onto a Callum Evans pass inside two minutes and produced a dangerous centre that evaded Keane in the middle.

Spurs replied with a Oduwa shot over the bar and Cristian Ceballos' header wide but the play was congested in the midfield with both sides working extremely hard to limit time and space on the ball. Alexander McQueen was booked for a bad foul on Marnick Vermijl and there were plenty of sharp tackles being made all over the pitch.

It took almost half an hour for the Reds to register a genuine attempt and the visitors were unlucky not to score following a beautiful move. Januzaj fed the overlapping Evans and his cross was touched back intelligently by Wilson for Andreas Pereira to shoot but the ball deflected off target.

There was a similar incident at the other end when skipper Thorpe diverted an attempt by Emmanuel Sonupe following some lapse defending before Wilson lifted a rising shot well over the bar. The half ended with Josh Harrop forced off after sustaining an injury when blocking a cross and with neither keeper having a real save to make.

Unfortunately, Wilson was also withdrawn at the break after picking up another knock on his return from injury, Liam Grimshaw taking his place, but it was revealed to be a scheduled change. Anders Lindegaard was tested soon after the restart by Oduwa but dived to push the ball away to his right. However, there were still precious few chances being created, although Dominic Ball almost headed a Saidy Janko cross into his own net.

Januzaj floated a free-kick disappointingly wide from just outside the box as the match remained goalless as it entered the closing stages. Another set-piece opportunity would not be wasted by Januzaj from out on the right flank after Harry Winks fouled Janko. A superb shot arrowed past McGee and into the top corner with three minutes left.

Spurs retaliated and Lindegaard's poor kick was returned with interest but Oduwa threw up an arm in his aerial challenge with the keeper and it looked a clear foul. Incredibly, the referee allowed play to continue and, as the Dane appealed, the home forward smashed into an empty net for the equaliser.

It would have destroyed lesser teams but Joyce's charges are always made of stern stuff and, after Januzaj's shot deflected wide for a corner, he took the kick himself to cross for captain Thorpe, who made his first-team debut on Saturday against West Ham United, to leap and power home a winner that takes the Reds to the top of the table.

United: Lindegaard; Janko, Thorpe, Vermijl, C.Evans; Pearson; A.Pereira, Harrop (Rothwell 45); Januzaj; Wilson (Grimshaw 46), W.Keane. Subs not used: O’Hara, Tuanzebe, Weir.

Tottenham U 21 1-2 Manchester United U 21: Adnan Januzaj leads late goal flurry before captain Tom Thorpe seals last gasp victory

* Manchester U 21s defeated Tottenham U 21s 2-1 at the Lamex Stadium
* Adnan Januzaj opened the scoring with a curling free-kick after 87mins
* Nathan Oduwa equalised for Spurs only one minute later
* Tom Thorpe sealed the win with a header from Januzaj's corner on 90mins
* Januzaj had struggled to make an impression before the final few minutes
* Belgian is trying to convince Louis van Gaal to give him a starting berth
* Late drama sent United top of the Under 21 Premier League

Tom Thorpe’s thumping header in stoppage time gave Manchester United a dramatic win over Tottenham and sent them top of the Under 21 Premier League.

The United captain rose above a static Spurs defence to power home an Adnan Januzaj corner with just seconds left on the clock.

This was a contest that had meandered along for 87 minutes until Januzaj, seeking to persuade Louis van Gaal that he deserved a starting place in the first team with Wayne Rooney suspended until November, curled a breathtaking free-kick into the top corner.

Thorpe capped off a fine week after making his first team debut by scoring the winner

Januzaj (second left) is mobbed by his team-mates after curling home a free-kick to give United the lead

But straight from the re-start, United’s defence hesitated and the impressive Nathan Oduwa outjumped Anders Lindegaard in a 50-50 contest to win the bouncing ball and blast home from close range.

Yet the drama wasn’t quite over as Warren Joyce’s team, in classic Man United style, plundered victory in injury time at the Lamex Stadium through a captain's intervention.

Januzaj has threatened only sporadically prior to the last few minutes and put forward a weak argument that he should play ahead of Juan Mata or anyone else in the first team. But a moment of improvisation from the free-kick and an inch-perfect corner may yet persuade Van Gaal to throw him in against Everton on Sunday.

United coach Joyce fielded no less than six players with first-team experience: Januzaj and Lindegaard, of course, but also Saidy Janko, Marnick Vermijl, Andreas Pereira and James Wilson. All but the Danish goalkeeper in that half-dozen were involved in that horror night at MK Dons just over a month ago.

Januzaj was certainly the main attraction for the sizeable crowd assembled on a foggy night in Stevenage but his dazzling footwork was only seen in glimpses during a disappointing first-half.

The result took United to the top of the Under 21 Premier League

It took nearly 10 minutes to get the ball to the Belgian’s feet, only for his purposeful run to be halted by Nathan Oduwa.

We were approaching the half hour by the time Januzaj again had chance to burst forward, detecting and finding Callum Evans on the overlap. His cross found Pereira, whose shot from the edge of the box was bravely blocked by Spurs captain Milos Veljkovic.

29min Januzaj again has the opportunity to burst forward down the left, this time laying it wide to Callum Evans on the overlap. It leads to a chance for Andreas Pereira

70min After a quiet second half, Januzaj gets an opportunity with a set-piece 25 yards out but curls the ball wide

87min With the game heading for a stalemate, Januzaj bends in a superb free-kick from wide on the right. With the perfect pitch and loft, it flies over the head of goalkeeper Luke McGee and into the net.

90+1min Delivers the corner that is met by United captain Tom Thorpe to win the match
United’s only other chance of note came when Wilson, who memorably scored those two goals against Hull on his first-team debut at the fag end of last season, forced a save from Luke McGee after Janko’s mis-hit fell kindly for him.

Instead it was Spurs who looked more threatening and England Under 18 international Oduwa, powerful and omnipresent, was their stand-out performer.

On 11 minutes, he worked half-a-yard inside the box and curled a shot over the bar after Emmanuel Sonupe had picked him out from the right, and he seemed to have some kind of involvement in every Spurs attack after that.

Just before that, Harry Winks crossed left-footed and tall frontman Daniel Akindayini couldn’t direct a difficult header on target. Cristian Ceballos also sent a flicked header wide of the mark from an Alex McQueen as Spurs continuously profited down the right.

But Lindegaard wasn’t actually troubled until two minutes into the second half when Ceballos forced him into a save at his near post with a low drive. Two minutes later, he turned a vicious Oduwa shot round the post as Spurs continued to take the game to United.

Mauricio Pochettino, watching from the stands, would have been impressed with his team's application.

William Keane (R) of Manchester United and Joshua Onomah try and break the deadlock after the interval

Finally, United stirred. Dominic Ball was forced into a hasty clearance under pressure from Will Keane with McGee nowhere near it.

Januzaj at last started to make his presence felt after switching to the right but his best opportunity came from a dead ball rather than dancing feet, when he curled a free-kick wide from a good position 25 yards from goal.

It looked for all the world at that point we were heading for a stalemate, but the drama was just beginning.
