Re: The Future of Manchester United Academy Graduated under Louis van Gaal.
Manchester United plan to catch City super kids as youth academy overhaul is given the go-ahead to avoid falling behind rivals
* Manchester United academy has struggled to find quality in recent years * Owners would like to keep soul and identity of the academy at Carrington * But there is a growing sense of the need for change in order to compete * Nicky Butt replaced Brian McClair in charge of the Under 19s in February * 'Root and branch' review will aim to offer Butt administrative support * United have exited UEFA Youth League while Manchester City progressed Manchester United have ordered a complete overhaul of their youth academy over the next 12 months to avoid falling further behind rivals Manchester City. A system that produced United’s vintage Class of ’92 has struggled to meet expectations in recent years, even though Louis van Gaal has used Jesse Lingard (aged 23), Paddy McNair (20), James Wilson (20), Tyler Blackett (21) and, most recently, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (18) in the first team during his 17 months in charge. United bosses want to keep the soul and identity of the club’s academy at Carrington, but recognise the need for urgent change and have ordered what one senior figure described as ‘a root and branch’ review. Nicky Butt has been in charge since Brian McClair left in February to become the Scottish FA’s performance director, and it is understood that United want to appoint someone to help the former England midfielder with the administrative side of the job. Butt’s Under 19s emulated the first team’s Euro exit by going out of the UEFA Youth League last week after finishing third in their group. Despite winning the final tie against Wolfsburg, they could not recover from a disastrous 5-0 home defeat by PSV Eindhoven in the previous game. Meanwhile, City’s youngsters matched their first team’s success by topping their qualifying group. Indeed, United are concerned that City have taken over as the favoured destination for aspiring young stars, helped by their new £200million City Football Academy built next to the Etihad Stadium. Even before the state-of-the-art complex opened a year ago, it emerged that the sons of former Old Trafford favourites Robin van Persie and Phil Neville were training with United’s neighbours. More recently, United considered complaining to the Barclays Premier League and even boycotting youth games against City over what they claimed was an ‘over-zealous’ recruitment drive by their rivals, although it is understood that no action was taken in the end. Manchester City have benefited from the availability Kelechi Iheanacho in times of few options up front When the two clubs met over a number of different age-groups in September, City won every game apart from one draw — including a 9-0 win at Under 14 level. United have also lost key coaching and scouting staff to City, who offer better rates of pay, and one of the changes expected to be made is the appointment of full-time scouts for their academy. They will consider following City’s example by setting up their own academy stadium close to Old Trafford. At present, United youth teams play at a number of different venues besides Carrington. Despite winning the final tie against Wolfsburg, United could not recover from earlier defeats in the group stage Timothy Fosu-Mensah played in the 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg at the AOK Stadium in Germany last week Some games below Under 18 level have even been cancelled because players are being called up to the higher age groups and there are not enough left over to make up the numbers. There is a feeling within Old Trafford that the club needs to restock its talent pool, with not enough prospects of the calibre of Angel Gomes Sanches — a 15-year-old attacking midfielder playing for United’s Under 18s — coming through the ranks. They are currently in talks with Ajax youngster Juan Familia-Castillo, FC Zurich’s Nishan Burkhart and Matthew Olosunde of the New York Red Bulls. Code:

Setuju Om.. lebih riskan CB muda dibanding FB muda. Moga aja Smalling lekas sembuh dan nggak cedera lagi.

Re: The Future of Manchester United Academy Graduated under Louis van Gaal.
Mo pakai pemain muda nunggu banyak yg cedera dulu. Klo nggak ada yg cedera bisa siklus RLS ala Om @victory 2; bisa jadi berlanjut.
Tapi mending Van Gaal. Klo Fergie (di akhir2 masanya) pas ada yg cedera dan stok habis bisa jadi ngutak-atik posisi pemain. CM jadi CB, RB jadi winger, winger jadi CM. Intinya pemain senior yang main. Last edited by fredrian.seven; 18-12-2015 at 07:12 AM.. |

Re: The Future of Manchester United Academy Graduated under Louis van Gaal.
Bad luck seems to follow Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal... but Anthony Martial's injury saw a new star rise from the chaos
* Manchester United overcame early woes to secure victory at Old Trafford * Attacker Anthony Martial was ruled out for hosts following the warm up * That allowed 18-year-old Marcus Rashford to star in front of the supporters * Big-money signing Memphis Depay also turned on the style on Thursday One of the beauties of sport is its transience. What can seem so dreadful one day can appear an awful lot better the next. So it was that Manchester United supporters filed out of Old Trafford here talking not for once about the future of their manager Louis van Gaal but instead of what may lie ahead in the young lives of Marcus Rashford and Memphis Depay. Those who were here were shouting ‘Ole’ by the end as everything their team touched threatened to fly in to the back of the net while those who stayed away, those who left the top tier of the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand closed for business, will have sat at home and wished they had been in their usual match day seat. It looked as though Louis van Gaal's bad luck was going to continue when injury struck Anthony Martial It doesn’t matter that this was a game against poor opposition, nor that it was a match in a competition United supporters used to scoff at. A good day at the match is always a good day at the match and here United gave a manager and a set of supporters that have suffered a little this season something different to chew on. For once, the bad luck that seems to follow Van Gaal around turned out to be the best thing that could have happened to him, in terms of this tie at least. An injury to Anthony Martial in the warm up took United’s injury list to an incredible 16 players and meant that 18-year-old Rashford had to be thrust from the bench in to the team for his debut. Martial's injury opened the door for 18-year-old Manchester United youngster Marcus Rashford A little shy of two hours later, however, Rashford was celebrating two decisive goals and perhaps wondering why Ander Herrera hadn’t allowed him to take the penalty that could have brought him a hat-trick to match that scored by 18-year-old Wayne Rooney on his own debut here back in September 2004. Herrera’s decision was the right one, by the way. The score stood at 3-1 at the time and Midtjylland were only a single goal from getting back in to the tie. As such there was no time for any sentiment at that moment, even if there was plenty available on the whole here. Rashford brought us a really great story. The young lad from south Manchester may only have been on the field because United’s work in the transfer window left them a striker light this season but to dwell on that would be sour. Quote:
Depay, of course, is a totally different subject. The Dutch international was brought to Old Trafford for big money and with a big reputation in the summer and has flunked so badly that it has at times been hard not to wonder if PSV sold United his twin brother instead. Here, though, Depay was magical throughout. Sensing that he was simply too good for this limited opposition and aware perhaps that patience was beginning to wear thin with him at United, this was a performance brimming with purpose and style and – just as it should be – totally lacking in mercy. Watching on, it was hard not to feel sorry for the Danes’ right-back Andre Romer but crucially Depay did not. For Romer, the old ‘twisted blood’ analogy seemed appropriate. He will have seen Depay in his dreams last night but he still wouldn’t have been able to catch him. Van Gaal will still want to see more from Depay before this season is through. United’s injuries are such that Depay will have to fire like this in the Premier League and the FA Cup if any good is to come of this wretched season. United are at home to Arsenal on Saturday and that would be a good time to repeat this performance, or something like it at least. Confidence seems to count for an awful lot for a player like Depay, though, and maybe, just maybe, this night of prosperity will be enough to put some wind beneath those rather expensive wings. By the end, United had scored five. They had missed a penalty, too, and, earlier, had fallen behind. This was some night indeed. Manchester United are not totally dead to the beauty of sporting joy, after all. Code:

Yang ini masih okelah, kalo dilihat dr sudut pandang penggunaan pemain muda ya, lebih memilih punya skuad minim spy tim muda bs dapet kesempatan ketika hantu cedera berdatangan. walo LvG sempet mengeluhkan banyaknya cedera pemain senior, tp dia msh bs bersyukur pemain mudanya lgs tune in LvG pun jg pernah melakukan hal yg sama sih, Carrick di CB, Blind di CB, Valencia dan Young di FB, Mata di RW, Rooney pernah jadi #6 , ataupun Fellaini di #9 kacau tp ngeliat yg skrg lebih enak, pemain di posisi yang seharusnya bukan yg sekedar melengkapi starting 11 (walo masih ada Carrick dan Blind di lini belakang sih ) |
