The opposition
Yokohama F･Marinos were originally formed as Nissan Football Club in 1972. Since 1993 (the year the J.League was introduced), the club has won three league titles - 1995, 2003 and 2004 - with Marinos becoming the first club to win back-to-back titles in '03 and '04. The club clinched the Emperors Cup in 1992 and won the Nabisco Cup in 2001. A number of Marinos players, including Shunsuke Nakamura and Yuji Nakazawa, are full Japanese internationals with World Cup experience.

Head coach
Yasuhiro Higuchi played for Marinos when it was Nissan Football Club. After retiring as a player, he started his career as a coach at Nissan Football Club School. He later became manager of its Academy and first team. He went on to manage Montedio Yamagata (2006), Omiya Ardija (2007) and Yokohama FC (2009), before returning to Marinos as a coach in 2010. He took over the managerial reins in 2012.

Star man
Shunsuke Nakamura. The captain and the team's main man. Since making his debut in 1997, Nakamura has scooped a number of individual awards, including the J.League Player of the Year prize. After excelling in his homeland early on in his career, he left for Europe in 2002. Japanese midfielder played in Europe for eight years - Reggina (2002-05), Celtic (2005-09) and Espanyol (2009-10) and claimed the Scottish PFA Players' Player of the Year in 2006/07. Nakamura, who was involved in the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, has been a key member of the Marinos squad since returning to his former club in 2010.

Last season
The J.League runs from March to October. The club finished fourth last season and currently lie in third place this term.

Did you know?
Shunsuke Nakamura netted Celtic's late winner in the Champions League group game against United in November 2006 at Celtic Park. He also scored a brilliant free-kick in the Scottish team's 3-2 defeat at Old Trafford two months earlier.

ManUtd.jp's Yumiko Yasugi recalls United’s last visit to Japan and anticipates a huge welcome this year…

It’s nearly five years since Manchester United last visited Japan, for the Club World Cup triumph over Liga de Quito in Yokohama in 2008.

I still remember the passion of Japanese supporters during the Reds’ stay. Hundreds came to Narita airport (though it's almost two hours from the centre of Tokyo) to welcome the heroes they had been dying to see.

And that was just the beginning. They were outside the team hotel every day, if only to say "good luck" or "you guys are the best" and glimpse the Reds getting on and off the bus. It was during a freezing mid-winter but fans were so happy to see the players in person, even for a second, as so many are unable to fly over to Manchester to watch matches.

The Reds seemed impressed by the support and respect Japanese supporters showed and signed many autographs, before going on to win the prestigious tournament in spite of a tough domestic schedule in December.

The players were incredible off the pitch, too. Lucky schoolchildren who won a competition saw the team training in Yokohama, after which the Reds stayed to sign autographs. Wayne Rooney stayed until the last, signing as many autographs as he could even as he was being called to board the team bus back to the hotel.

It is not difficult to see how excited Japanese supporters are to welcome the team back – this time in mid-summer for Tour 2013 presented by Aon. What’s more, we have a Japanese player this time in Shinji Kagawa.

All tickets for the matches in Yokohama and Osaka were sold out very quickly, leaving many more supporters disappointed. But they still have the rare opportunity to see the team at open training sessions in both cities.

Summer in Japan is hot and the temperature will rise further when the champions of England touch down. It’s sure to be an unforgettable week for the millions of Reds here.

Berharap Januzaj & Lingard tetap bermain ngotot & bagus seperti dua pertandingan sebelumnya.

Carrick cedera, mungkin Jones akan main ditengah backup Carrick. Kalau Evans belum cukup fit, Michael Keane semoga bisa main dan menutup kesalahannya dimatch sebelumnya.

Ashley Young and Chris Smalling have arrived in Japan to join the Manchester United tour party.

The duo flew out to Yokohama on Sunday for the remaining three games of Tour 2013 presented by Aon.

David Moyes confirmed earlier this week that the pair, both recovering from injuries sustained last season, had been making good progress back at the Aon Training Complex. They will now continue that work with their team-mates in Asia.

Shinji Kagawa has also joined the squad in his homeland, having been given some extra time off following his exertions for Japan in the recent Confederations Cup.

Carrick doubt for Yokohama

Michael Carrick is the only doubt for Manchester United ahead of Tuesday's match against Yokohama F·Marinos in Japan, with the squad now approaching full strength.

Although Wayne Rooney (hamstring) returned home before the first game in Bangkok and Nemanja Vidic (sciatica) has yet to join the tour, David Moyes' options have been extended by the arrival of Shinji Kagawa, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young in Japan.

The Reds boss could also have Alex Buttner and Jonny Evans back from the minor ailments which caused them to miss Saturday's impressive 5-1 win over the Foxtel A-League All Stars in Sydney.

"Michael Carrick has a tight groin," reported Moyes at Monday's pre-match press conference.

"I expect Jonny Evans to be okay and Alex Buttner to be okay. On the main, we're very close to full strength.

"The three lads [who joined the squad today] probably won't start this game but they'll definitely be involved. Certainly Young and Smalling have been training very hard before flying out here.

"Shinji has mainly been on holiday but he has trained for a few days. We'll get them involved this week."

David Moyes hopes to get his first glimpse of Shinji Kagawa on Tuesday evening when Manchester United take on Yokohama F•Marinos in the Kagome Re:Generation Challenge.

Kagawa rejoined his Reds team-mates for the first time since May on Monday as United jetted into Japan on the third stop of Tour 2013 presented by Aon.

And while Shinji isn't expected to start on Tuesday (he was granted an extended holiday following his involvement for Japan in last month's Confederations Cup), Moyes told reporters that he's "looking forward to working with" the 24-year-old.

"I know a little about him as a player," David explained. "Sir Alex spoke in glowing terms about Shinji and how good a player he is. I've just met him today, so we're getting to know each other. I'm trying to learn Japanese and he's trying to understand my Scottish!

"It was his first season in the Premier League last year. He's a young player so we hope his development continues. I look forward to working with him and hopefully he has a really good season coming up."
