Re: Memandang Masa Depan Manchester United
Why Manchester United Have the Foundation for Another Decade of Dominance
Since the early 1990s, Manchester United have been the elite club in British football. Under the guidance of Sir Alex Ferguson, the Red Devils have won 12 of a possible 20 Premier League titles and could very well be set for their lucky 13th this year. Fans of other sides may decry United's domestic dominance, but Fergie and his ever-revolving cast of talented footballers have truly perfected the art of winning. This article will argue that the club is set to maintain its superiority over the next 10 years. The future is bright, or, the future is red. Winning Mentality The winning mentality instilled in the players will remain long after Sir Alex Ferguson retires. Manchester United are a club built on success. Finishing first is the only option for the Red Devils—second is unacceptable. Even when Manchester United have gone through down periods or seasons, they have bounced back with a vengeance within a very short amount of time. Players come to Old Trafford to win trophies—goalscoring extraordinaire Robin van Persie can attest to this fact. Manchester City full-back Pablo Zabaleta addressed this Wednesday, stating "United have built a winning culture over the last 20 years, while City’s project is at the start" (via The Express). The Glazers would have to hire a complete dead fish when Fergie eventually passes on the reins to eradicate this vast legacy. Sir Alex's Legacy Following on from the previous slide, it is Sir Alex Ferguson whose legacy and obsession with winning already haunts the halls at Old Trafford. When he retires, the Scotsman will not pass gently into the night. In an interview with twentyfour7 Football magazine earlier this month, Fergie revealed that he has plans to take an upstairs role at the club when he ceases to be manager (h/t ManUtd.com). "There’s no getting rid of me. I’ll probably become a director." Referring to his eventual successor, he said "with the structure we have here, it can't be an impossible job." He will play a role in finding a successor, as well as keeping the tradition of excellence alive at Manchester United. Ability to Attract the Best On Wednesday, Robin van Persie revealed "United could be my last club" (via BBC). "You have a number of clubs in Europe where older players can find it good, where they are valued," he said. "So who knows how long I will stay at the club." The world-class forward's decision to move from Arsenal to Old Trafford this past summer drew plenty of criticism, but the move only served to highlight the Red Devils' undiminished pulling power in the transfer market. The Premier League may not be as highly rated as it has been in previous years, but a club with the history and tradition of United will always attract the world's best. Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the two best footballers on the planet, has spoken of a desire to one day play for United again (via Goal.com). Who can argue with CR7? Commitment to Youth Talented youth will always have a place at Manchester United. The Busby Babes and the Class of '92 are just two examples of the Red Devils' exceptional youth academy and dedication to developing burgeoning footballers. On Wednesday, the Daily Mail revealed the clubs in Europe who have fostered the most players from its own ranks into the starting XI. The Red Devils have produced the joint-fourth most top-flight players in recent seasons across the continent and currently have nine academy graduates in the first-team squad. The likes of teen stars Nick Powell, Adnan Januzaj and Mats Daeli will serve the team in fine stead going forward. The same policy exists regarding the transfer market as well—bringing in young prodigies from other clubs is equally valued. Global Brand Manchester United currently sit atop Forbes' annual rich list, ranked as the most valuable club in all of sports ahead of Real Madrid and the New York Yankees (via Yahoo). Though the club's owners debt has been highly publicized, the Glazers have made funds available for Sir Alex to spend every summer in the transfer market. The Red Devils are a massive draw wherever they go—empty seats are very rarely seen at Old Trafford while games are played. Sean Wheelock, the BBC's North America football correspondent, once said "United are undoubtedly the most popular, the most recognised and best supported foreign team in the United States" (via The National). Wheelock could just have easily been talking about the club's worldwide popularity. With such an income and popularity as theirs, it would be incredibly difficult to stop the juggernaut that is Manchester United from maintaining their dominance in Britain. Code:

Re: Memandang Masa Depan Manchester United
Who Should Manchester United Cut Loose This Summer?
Manchester United find themselves in a very curious position in that their season is virtually over at the beginning of April. Now I say that with the greatest respect as the way they have gone about regaining what they consider as rightly theirs has been both brilliant and brutal. Of course, the season is not over, and Sir Alex Ferguson and his side will have designs on a 100-point Premier League finish—or failing that—by bettering Chelsea's 95-point record haul set in 2004/05. But again there is no FA Cup and there is no Champions League, and at a stage where the games should be coming thick and fast, United now face a casual meander towards lifting a 20th top-flight title at home to Swansea City on May 12. Never one to rest on his laurels, Ferguson will already be plotting the defence of the Premier League crown, and with ample time to reflect and review on where this season has gone right and wrong, there are a few players he will be viewing with extra scrutiny. Monday's FA Cup Sixth Round elimination at Stamford Bridge did few favours to a couple of players, and if the Reds are to perennially progress as the Scot demands, then new blood will arrive with deadwood set adrift. I've cast my eye over five players potentially in the firing line, but as ever, I want your feedback and analysis on who should stay or go. Anderson We're coming to the conclusion of Anderson's sixth season at Manchester United, and the Brazilian midfielder has still yet to fully establish himself in the side. For the past couple of years there has been speculation as to whether Sir Alex Ferguson would cut his losses, but the Scot has kept faith without being particularly rewarded. There have constantly been glimpses of his class, but they are too few and too far between, and a sketchy injury record doesn't help the player to find any prolonged consistency. The former Porto protege has appeared in just 17 games this campaign and has only turned out for United 162 times since arriving in 2007. He is held in high esteem on the terraces of Old Trafford and the norm for fans is to grant their favourites a stay of execution, but has Anderson had one too many, and will he ever deliver the goods? Central midfield is an area where United will need to strengthen, and if Anderson can remain fit and get a run of games, he could be the solution rather than the cause to the problems. But that's been said for the past few seasons without conclusion, so should the Reds cash in before his contract dwindles along with his potential transfer fee? Antonio Valencia Antonio Valencia has been steadily on the decline since an explosive first season in 2009/10, and his performances have been heavily criticised by sections of the Reds support over this campaign. An nasty ankle injury suffered in September 2010 curtailed his progress for United, and it's fair to say the Ecuadorian has never been the same player since. On his day his pace and penetration made him a real handful, and few regularly get the better of Ashley Cole in the manner Valencia did in his pomp. But that heyday seems well off now, and the former Wigan Athletic man is more adept as an emergency full-back as opposed to an energetic winger. Valencia's versatility down the right make him a useful squad player to have around, and if he can recapture some of his former glories then he may well be worth keeping. But a lack of confidence and a series of niggling injuries hav limited his value to the United cause, and he's another who's value will only decline past this summer. Ashley Young It might be a bit harsh to put Ashley Young up for the chop because of "second season syndrome," but Sir Alex Ferguson must weigh up what his third year is likely to entail. The England winger stepped up to the plate after a switch from Aston Villa in June 2011, and eight goals in 33 games during his first term was a commendable return. Aside from the goals, Young zipped around the flanks with a menace and vibrancy you'd expect from a United wide man, but that same threat has been lacking over the course of this campaign. He's yet to score, and plenty of his 21 appearances have been erratic and ineffective. None of the Red Devils wingers have particularly shone across an ultimately successful season, and the flanks will certainly be one area Ferguson will look to replenish. Young should get opportunities between now and the close to earn himself a stay at United, but he'll have to prove there are more strings to his bow than cutting back onto his right foot and whipping balls in. Another who's 28 in the summer and could still command top dollar if he's sold. Nani Nani is the third and final one of Manchester United's wide midfielders I've put under the microscope, and he's probably got the strongest case for both being kept and sold. His contribution this season has been has been limited having featured in just 10 Premier League games and making 17 appearances overall. He's still capable of moments of magic, but that is interlaced with large periods of infuriating inconsistency. Has the prodigious talent signed from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 made the sort of advancements Sir Alex Ferguson would expect? Nani is no longer a talented kid making his way, and if United are to make strides again in Europe, they do need more from the wings. Similarly to Anderson, it's hard to argue United have seen the full potential on their investment over six years at Old Trafford, and questions need to be asked as to whether the Portuguese international can step up a level or produce more of the same? His transfer value would be high and there would be no shortage of suitors for his services, so would Ferguson be better off keeping him or cashing in and using the funds to replace? Wayne Rooney The most contentious of my picks and the one likely to spark most debate amongst the Manchester United fans. His 16 goals in 30 appearances this season is still a decent return, but the England man has played second fiddle to Robin van Persie all campaign and his standing at the club is not what it once was. He also seems to have lost some of the spark that made him one of the most feared strikers in world football, and Sir Alex Ferguson will need to consider whether that is due to a deterioration in his physical or mental strength—or both. If Rooney can be restored to his former powers, he can still be a vital asset for the Reds. If the decline is terminal, however, Ferguson will have no hesitation in cashing in whilst he can command a sizable sum. Sights of the brilliant, bullish Rooney of old have been scarce this season, and I for one will watch with anticipation as to how he performs in Monday's derby—if selected. It's worth remembering that Rooney has scored exactly 100 times in the past three-and-a-half seasons, but it's what he can do rather than what he has done which will determine his future. I, personally, suspect he'll be off. Code:

Re: Memandang Masa Depan Manchester United
Why Shinji Kagawa and Robin Van Persie Will Have Better Seasons Next Year
Despite winning the Premier League title at a canter this season, Sir Alex Ferguson still thought that it was right to state that Manchester City's campaign has been slightly disappointing overall. Ferguson wrote in his programme notes before Manchester City’s arrival at Old Trafford in April: Quote:
It’s hard to argue with his assessment. In early March, treble talk was all the rage in the red half of Manchester. But less than a month later this dream had disappeared. Even though they were on the cusp of claiming their 20th league title, fans couldn’t help but ponder what might have been had Nani not been sent off against Real Madrid or had United held onto their first-half advantage over Chelsea at Old Trafford in the FA Cup. But there are still plenty of positives to take from Manchester United’s title victory. This triumph saw David de Gea, Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa and Robin van Persie claim their first Championship medals, and this honour will raise their confidence to an almost arrogant level. But for Kagawa and van Persie, this is just the beginning. Both arrived in the summer under a tidal wave of hype and expectation. They’ve each shown that they have the skills and attributes to flourish on Old Trafford’s hallowed turf, and next season you can expect to see them improve in leaps and bounds too. Shinji Kagawa Kagawa has already cemented his place in English Premier League folklore after notching a hat-trick against Norwich in March, becoming the first Asian player to achieve this feat. Before those goals, he had struggled with a knee injury that sidelined him for three months, but once he made his return to the team, Kagawa began to show the composure and skill that made him one of the most coveted players in Europe last summer. His influence on the team has started to be so great that it added weight to the theory that Wayne Rooney might leave Old Trafford in the summer. Kagawa has a European style to his play, and he often manoeuvres around the pitch unnoticed, subtly influencing the game with his touches and vision. He has already proved that he has the strength and guile to flourish in the Premier League and constantly shows that he picks the right pass at almost every opportunity. The Japanese international will be looking to add more goals and assists next season and will be praying that he can stave off the injuries that have blighted his first year in England. Sir Alex Ferguson has already stated in a post-game interview, “He’s going to be a good player. Next season he’ll be far, far better too.” Whether that will be alongside Rooney—as they’ve both linked up sumptuously at times in 2013—or in place of him remains to be seen. But United fans are well aware that a ready-made replacement for the Liverpudlian forward is already in their ranks if Rooney does decide to depart. Robin van Persie There is not much more you can say about Robin van Persie that hasn’t been said already. The Dutchman’s prowess and awareness in front of goal are staggering, and against Aston Villa, his hat-trick not only led United to the Premier League title but also showed he can score a variety of goals with aplomb. So what can he improve next season? It would be harsh to criticise van Persie’s barren run in front of goal between February and April, especially when you consider how deadly he was for the opening months of the season. He has also claimed eight assists thanks to his deadly free-kicks and corners that are whipped in with such pace and precision that even Patrice Evra has turned into a goal-scoring machine because of his service. There have been some disappointments, though. Van Persie’s most lacklustre contribution of the campaign came against Real Madrid, where he failed to make an impact and missed two glorious chances at the Bernabeu to claim further away goals for United that could have seen them through. Even against United’s closest title rivals, Manchester City, he was fairly anonymous. Yes, he scored the last minute free-kick at the Etihad, thanks to a huge deflection and pathetic wall, which helped to claim the most important three points of the season for the Red Devils, but Rooney’s goals had already given United the lead. At Old Trafford, van Persie struggled against the physical threat of Vincent Kompany and Matija Nastasić. Van Persie will use his prolific first season as a starting block for his tenure at United, and he’ll be fuelled by his desire to claim more trophies, having not won enough in his career for a man of his talents. Re: Memandang Masa Depan Manchester United

Re: Memandang Masa Depan Manchester United
