MANCHESTER - Jelang leg pertama perempatfinal Liga Champions melawan Chelsea, Sir Alex Ferguson membuka kembali memorinya. Pelatih Manchester United mengaku terkenang dengan mantan anak didiknya, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ya, pertemuan duo Raksasa Premier League kali ini mengingatkan pada laga final Liga Champions di Stadion Luzhniki, Moskow, pada 2008 lalu. The Blues harus merelakan trofi jatuh ke tangan The Red Devils melalui drama adu penalti, setelah sempat bermain 1-1 di waktu normal dan babak tambahan.

Kamis (7/4/2011) dini hari WIB, Wayne Rooney dkk akan menyambangi Stamford Bridge guna melakoni leg pertama perempatfinal. Ferguson mengungkapkan, perbedaan laga kali ini dengan final tiga tahun lalu terletak pada kehadiran Ronaldo, yang kala itu masih berstatus bintang Setan Merah.

“Hanya satu perbedaan utama, yakni tidak ada Ronaldo,” cetus Ferguson. “Dia memang pemain fantastis,” pujinya, seperti dilansir Tribalfootball, Rabu (6/4/2011).

Pada 1 Juli 2009, Real Madrid resmi membajak Ronaldo dari United dengan kesepakatan nilai transfer tertinggi sepanjang sejarah sepakbola, 80 juta poundsterling. Teranyar, winger 26 tahun menyempurnakan kemenangan 4-0 El Real atas Tottenham Hotspur, pada leg pertama perempatfinal Liga Champions di Santiago Bernabeu, dini hari tadi.
