BERBATOV PRAISE FOR HIS GAFFER

SIR Alex Ferguson will celebrate his 900th league game as Manchester United manager against Wolves tonight.

And striker Dimitar Berbatov believes the presence of Ferguson is a massive boost for any player wanting to improve his game.

The Bulgarian said: “The manager is so many years in charge of this great club that of course you are going to learn things.

“If you want to develop, this is the place to be.

“He is the type of manager who always protects his players.”

Berbatov, 28, joined United from Spurs last September for £30.75m and he will be hoping to add to his total of four goals this season when he faces Wolves tonight.

He said: “I try to give my best for the team to win things. “I think I did that in my first season.

“We won the championship and I think everybody was happy about that.”

Berbatov is enjoying life at Old Trafford and said: “I am happy here. I love it.”

The striker is poised to start alongside Wayne Rooney, while Paul Scholes, who was suspended for Saturday’s defeat by Aston Villa, is set to return tonight.

Rafael da Silva has been declared fit and is likely to play at right-back.

Manchester - Laga melawan Wolverhamton Wanderers cukup istimewa bagi manajer Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson. Itulah kesempatan dia melakoni partainya yang ke-900 di ajang Liga Inggris.

MU akan menjamu Wolves pada Selasa (15/12/2009) malam waktu setempat. Bagi 'Setan Merah' laga tersebut cukup krusial lantaran mereka perlu meraih kemenangan guna membangun momentum positif di akhir tahun setelah menelan kekalahan dari Aston Villa di akhir pekan lalu.

Namun, selain pentingnya tiga angka yang bisa diraih pertandingan yang akan digelar di Old Traford itu juga memiliki makna yang spesial bagi Fergie. Pria asal Skotlandia itu akan menjalani partai yang ke-900 di liga.

Fergie memang merupakan sosok yang cukup kawakan di kompetisi kasta tertinggi di negeri Ratu Elizabeth tersebut. Menangani MU sejak tahun 1986, dia tercatat sebagai manajer terlama yang masih aktif di Liga Inggris.

Para pemain The Red Devils pun siap untuk mempersembahkan yang terbaik bagi sang manajer di hari yang spesial itu.

"Si bos telah berada cukup lama di klub ini dan tentu saja kami dapat belajar sesuatu darinya. Dia merupakan tipe manajer yang selalu melindungi pemainnya," ujar penyerang Dimitar Berbatov di Daily Star.

"Saya akan mencoba memberikan yang terbaik bagi tim untuk memenangi sesuatu," sambungnya
