BARCELONA, KOMPAS.com - Mantan arsitek Barcelona, Josep 'Pep' Guardiola, kerap disebut sebagai sosok paling berjasa atas kesuksesan "Blaugrana" merebut serangkaian trofi selama empat tahun belakangan. Tetapi bagi Pep, ternyata ada sosok lain yang dianggap paling bertanggung jawab atas kesuksesan Barcelona menjadi salah satu raksasa Eropa.

Sosok yang dimaksud Pep tak lain adalah Johan Cruyff, eks penggawa Barcelona yang juga menjadi direktur La Masia, akademi sepak bola milik klub Catalan tersebut.

"Cruyff yang memulai semuanya. Ia adalah figur paling berpengaruh di Barcelona," kata Guardiola pada El Tiempo. "Semua orang mampu melakukan hal-hal tertentu, tapi aku tak akan bisa membangun sesuatu dari awal seperti yang dilakukan Cruyff," jelas pelatih yang musim depan akan menukangi Bayern Muenchen ini.

Pep, yang mempersembahkan 14 gelar bagi Blaugrana selama periode kepelatihannya ini, lanjut memuji Curyff dengan menyebut pria Belanda tersebut sebagai tempatnya belajar.

"Aku banyak belajar dari dia. Dua puluh tahun lalu aku tak pernah membayangkan Barcelona tanpa upaya dari Cruyff. Semua orang yang datang setelah Cruyff selalu memberikan sentuhan personal, tapi aku akan selamanya berterima kasih padanya," ujar Pep.

Semasa aktif bermain, Cruyff pernah memperkuat Barcelona selama lima musim dari 1973 hingga 1978, dan melatih klub tersebut pada tahun 1988.

BARCELONA, KOMPAS.com — Pemain legendaris Belanda, Johan Cruyff, mengindikasikan masih menyimpan rasa dendam terhadap Presiden Barcelona, Sandro Rosell. Ia pun mengaku tidak akan pernah menginjak Camp Nou jika Rosell masih berstatus sebagai presiden skuad Blaugrana.

Pernyataan Cruyff tersebut mengacu pada sengketa keuangan organisasi amal miliknya. Barcelona, menurutnya, berutang kepadanya karena tidak memenuhi kewajiban kontrak sejak Rosell mengambil alih kursi kepresidenan dari Joan Laporta pada 2010.

Mantan pemain Ajax Amsterdam itu menilai Rosell menolak untuk menandatangani dokumen kontrak oraganisasi amal miliknya. Meski bisa saja mengadukan kasus tersebut pengadilan, ia mengaku tidak ingin melibatkan klub karena menilai itu adalah masalah personal antara dirinya dan Rosell.

Cruyff sendiri merupakan salah satu legenda Barcelona. Ia pernah menghabiskan karier di Camp Nou sebagai pemain pada periode 1973 hingga 1978 dan pelatih pada 1988-1996.

"Saya tidak akan ke Camp Nou jika Rosell masih menjabat sebagai presiden di Barcelona. Jadi, saya juga tidak akan menghadiri pertandingan Barcelona melawan Ajax (di Grup H Liga Champions)," ungkap Cruyff.

Ketika ditanya perihal siapa yang akan keluar sebagai pemenang pada pertandingan tersebut, Cruyff mengatakan, "Tentu saja saya berharap Ajax bisa memenangi laga tersebut."

Barcelona berada di Grup H Liga Champions bersama Ajax, AC Milan, dan Glasgow Celtic. Lionel Messi dan kawan-kawan pertama kali akan menjamu Ajax di Camp Nou pada 18 September mendatang.

Mantan manajer Barcelona, Johan Cruyff, mengatakan dirinya berharap bisa merekrut Carles Puyol, kapten Barcelona, yang akan mundur pada akhir musim ini.

"Puyol adalah pemain yang sangat berpengalaman. Mudah-mudahan saya bisa memanfaatkannya dalam bentuk apa pun. Saya bersedia membantunya dalam bidang apa saja," kata Cruyff seperti dikutip kantor berita Spanyol EFE.

"Akan sangat disayangkan bila kemampuan dan pengalaman Puyol tidak dimanfaatkan," kata manajer asal Belanda yang sekarang melatih tim sepak bola Catalonia di Spanyol tersebut.

Puyol pada hari Selasa (04/03) mengumumkan mundur dari Barcelona meski masih memiliki sisa kontrak dua tahun.

Keputusan ini tak lepas dari gangguan cedera lutut yang dialaminya, yang membuat pemain berusia 35 tahun tersebut hanya bermain lima kali di kompetisi liga sejauh ini.

"Saya sudah jelaskan situasinya kepada klub dan kami setuju untuk membatalakan sisa kontrak dua tahun," kata Puyol.

Puyol dikenal sebagai salah satu pilar Barcelona dan telah membantu klub raksasa Spanyol ini menyabet 21 piala.

Ia telah bermain 493 kali untuk Barcelona, rekor yang hanya bisa dikalahkan oleh Xavi Hernandez.

Johan Cruyff Didiagnosa Kanker Paru-paru

DEN HAAG, Kompas.com - Legenda sepak bola Belanda Johan Cruyff, yang disebut-sebut sebagai salah satu pemain terbaik dunia sepanjang masa, didiagnosa menderita kanker paru-paru. Demikian menurut tim manajemennya pada Kamis (22/10/2015), ketika pesan-pesan untuk mendukungnya terus berdatangan.

"Pada beberapa pekan terakhir Johan Ctuyff menjalani tes medis di rumah sakit Barcelona. Ia didiagnosa menderita kanker paru-paru," kata Carol Thate dalam pernyataannya.

"Untuk menghormati privasi Johan serta keluarganya dan karena belum selesainya tes, tak ada informasi lebih lanjut yang akan diberikan untuk fase ini," tambah Thate.

"Informasi lanjutan akan diberikan saat pemeriksaan telah usai."

Cruyff, yang menjadi kapten Belanda saat mereka melaju ke final Piala Dunia 1974 dan merupakan salah satu pendiri filosofi total football, telah keluar-masuk rumah sakit selama beberapa pekan terakhir karena masalah kesehatan.

Sepanjang kariernya sebagai pemain internasional Belanda, Cruyff yang operan-operannya dan penerapan taktiknya sering membuat para lawan kebingungan, mengoleksi 33 gol sebelum pensiun pada 1977. Pria 68 tahun ini pun tiga kali memenangi penghargaan Ballon d'Or, setara dengan pencapaian ketua UEFA saat ini Michel Platini dan mantan penyerang Belanda Marco van Basten.

Setelah itu, ia menikmati karier manajerial yang cukup sukses dengan Ajax Amsterdam dan raksasa Catalan, Barcelona, serta saat ia mengasuh Club Deportivo Guadalaraja di Meksiko.

Pada masa awal menjalani karier sebagai pelatih, Cruyff merupakan perokok berat dan sering terlihat merokok dari tepi lapangan. Ia berhenti merokok setelah dua kali menjalani operasi bypass pada 1991.

Saat itu ia dilaporkan menghisap setidaknya 20 batang rokok per hari. Ia kemudian terlihat dalam iklan untuk departemen kesehatan Katalan, di mana ia menimang-nimang (juggling) sebungkus rokok dengan kakinya sebanyak 16 kali, sebelum kemudian menyepak benda itu.

"Sepak bola telah memberikan segalanya bagi saya," kata Cruyff dalam iklan itu, yang masih dapat dilihat pada situs Youtube. "Tembakau nyaris merenggut segalanya."

Sementara itu, pesan-pesan "semoga cepat pulih" terus tertuju kepada Cruyff, termasuk dari Barcelona, klub yang ia perkuat dari 1973 sampai 1978 dan dilatihnya pada 1988 sampai 1996.

Amsterdam - Legenda hidup sepakbola Belanda, Johan Cruyff, menyatakan pengunduran diri sebagai penasihat di klub Ajax. Kekecewaan, dan bukan kesehatan, menjadi alasan.

Baru bulan Oktober lalu pria 68 tahun itu diketahui terkena kanker paru-paru. Tetapi bukan hal itu yang menjadi alasan pengunduran diri Cruyff dari posisinya di Ajax.

Pria yang dalam karier bermain maupun melatihnya itu identik dengan Ajax dan Barcelona merasa percuma saja lanjut menjadi penasihat de Godenzonen dalam program pembinaan pemain muda karena selama ini nasihatnya diabaikan.

"Saya mundur. Selama bertahun-tahun saya melihat bahwa inti dari visi saya di Ajax tidaklah dikembangkan," tulis Cruyff dalam kolomnya di De Telegraaf dan dilansir Soccerway.

"Selain itu saja juga merasa bahwa hal tersebut dilakukan dengan sengaja dan saya tidak lagi memiliki peranan," lanjutnya.

Keputusan Cruyff ini muncul tak berapa lama setelah Wim Jonk juga mundur, atas kesepakatan bersama, dari posisinya sebagai pimpinan pengembangan pemain muda menyusul sebuah ketidaksepahaman dengan direksi Ajax.

Cruyff, who won three European Cups and eight Dutch titles with Ajax, was diagnosed with lung cancer last October.
In February, he released a statement insisting that treatment was going well and that he believed he would make a full recovery.
It read: 'After several medical treatments I can say that the results have been very positive, thanks to the excellent work of the doctors, the affection of the people and my positive mentality.
'Right now, I have the feeling that I am 2-0 up in the first half of a match that has not finished yet. But I am sure that I will end up winning.'
Cruyff's son Jordi, who had a spell with Manchester United between 1996 and 2000, paid tribute to his father last Saturday – Father's Day in Spain – via Twitter.
'In Spain it's father's day! Thanks for being who you are & teaching me life's values, my role model @JohanCruyff.'
Cruyff is regarded as one of the greatest footballers in history and was the leading star of the Dutch team that introduced 'Total Football' to the world.
Under the strategy, players pass the ball frequently to seek advantage, and switch positions seamlessly to adjust to the flow of play. Latin American admirers referred to the orange-clad Dutch national team as 'The Clockwork Orange'.

Cruyff was the personification of a total footballer, playing deep or shallow as the moment required, as deadly from the wings as from his assigned position in the centre. He was among the first to see defenders as part of the attack.
Cruyff captained Holland at the 1974 World Cup, at the height of his playing career, and led the Dutch to the final.
Despite winning Holland an early penalty, which Johan Neeskens converted, Cruyff and Holland were left disappointed as they lost 2-1 to West Germany.
Cruyff's career at Ajax ran in parallel to manager Rinus Michels implementing the highly successful Total Football system. Michels went to Barcelona in 1971 and Cruyff followed two years later.
A prolific goalscorer, and a great creator for others, Cruyff even had his own trick, famous and still used to this day.

The 'Cruyff turn' was perfected by its inventor, who finished his playing career in Holland with spells at Ajax and Feyenoord.
A sought-after football thinker, he managed Ajax from 1985 to 1988, and then, just as in his playing career, Cruyff was lured away by Barcelona.
At the Nou Camp he won the European Cup, in 1992, and four league titles among a raft of trophies. During his time at the club he underwent major heart surgery in 1991, which prompted him to stop smoking.
He was sacked by Barcelona in 1995 but remained influential at the club for the rest of his life.
Cruyff was also a three-time winner of the Ballon d'Or award, taking the award in 1971, 1973 and 1974. At the time, the award recognised the best player in Europe, rather than being a worldwide award as it is today.
The death of Cruyff stunned football. The Dutch football association (KNVB) wrote on Twitter: 'With great sadness we have learned of the death of Johan Cruyff. Words are not enough.'

The former Liverpool striker Ian Rush wrote: 'Very saddened by the passing of Johan Cruyff - a dear friend, unbelievable player and a national hero!!'
Ossie Ardiles, the former Argentina and Tottenham midfielder, added: 'Johan Cruyff. Extraordinary player. One of the best ever. Had the privilege to play with him twice. RIP'
Clubs and players from across Europe paid their own tributes, and Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos made his own fond tribute.
While Barcelona and Real Madrid are fierce rivals on the pitch, Ramos said: 'Goodbye to one of the all-time legends of football. Player and coach ahead of his time. RIP Johan Cruyff.'
Manchester City's Yaya Toure wrote: 'Shocked by the sad news about Johan Cruyff. RIP'

Former United States international Alexi Lalas saluted the lasting impact made by Cruyff.
He wrote: 'RIP Johan Cruyff. He made the beautiful game more beautiful.'
Ajax issued a short statement that read: 'Johan Cruyff has died in Barcelona at the age of 68. The greatest Ajax player of all time had suffered with lung cancer since October last year.
'Ajax share in this great loss and wish the families much strength.'

The football world has come together to pay tribute to Johan Cruyff after the Holland legend passed away on Thursday at the age of 68 after losing his battle with cancer.
Cruyff, who was synonymous with Ajax and Barcelona both as a player and manager, was considered one of the greatest footballers ever and even had the 'Cruyff turn' named after him having first pulled off the stunning piece of skill at the 1974 World Cup.
Ajax and Barcelona shared a mutual grief.
Ajax issued a short statement that read: 'Johan Cruyff has died in Barcelona at the age of 68. The greatest Ajax player of all time had suffered with lung cancer since October last year.
'Ajax share in this great loss and wish the families much strength.'
The initial reaction from Barcelona, for for whom Cruyff starred for between 1973 and 1978 before managing the club from 1988 until 1996, was succinct.

The Gunners posted images of Cruyff alongside Gunners legend and compatriot Dennis Bergkamp as well as a picture of the Dutch icon appearing at Highbury during his playing days.
Liverpool, meanwhile, tweeted 'Rest in Peace, Johan Cruyff' alongside an image of a quote about the club from the Dutchman.
Manchester United took to Twitter to say: 'Everybody at Manchester United is saddened to hear of Johan Cruyff's passing – he was a true football legend,' while Chelsea tweeted: 'Rest in peace Johan Cruyff. Football has lost a legend.'

Red Devils manager and compatriot Louis van Gaal told the official Manchester United website: 'It is a very sad day for the footballing world, to lose one of the true legends of the game. My thoughts are with Johan's family at this difficult time.'

Manchester United is saddened to hear that Johan Cruyff, a true football legend and father of former Reds player Jordi, has passed away at the age of 68.

Cruyff came to fame as a creative star in the Ajax and Holland teams of the early 1970s, helping the Amsterdam club to win three consecutive European Cups and the Dutch national side to reach the World Cup final of 1974. He was also a three-time winner of the European Footballer of the Year award, the accolade scooped by United's George Best, Denis Law and Bobby Charlton in the 1960s and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.

After starring with Ajax, Cruff dazzled on the pitch with Barcelona before successfully coaching the Catalan team to four La Liga titles from 1991 to 1994. Cruyff also guided them to a European Cup Winners' Cup final meeting with United in May 1991 but Alex Ferguson's men emerged victorious in Rotterdam.

Alex signed Johan's son Jordi five years later after the attacking midfielder had impressed when playing in England for Holland at Euro '96. The new arrival from Barcelona was given the no.14 shirt at United, the number associated with his father.

Jordi, who is now a sporting director at Maccabi Tel-Aviv, tweeted on 19 March: "In Spain it's father's day! Thanks for being who you are & teaching me life's values, my role model @JohanCruyff."

On hearing today's news, United manager Louis van Gaal told ManUtd.com: "It is a very sad day for the footballing world, to lose one of the true legends of the game. My thoughts are with Johan's family at this difficult time."

The Reds' goalkeeping coach, Frans Hoek, tweeted: "Johan thanks for everything. RIP."
United ambassador Sir Bobby Charlton, speaking via the Laureus World Sports Academy, said: “I was proud to have known Johan. He was one of those great, great footballers that made you excited whenever he got the ball and began to play. There was always expectation in the crowd when Johan was on the pitch. There wasn’t a negative thought in his head. He loved the game, he loved sport and he loved life.

“He was one of the greatest footballers I have ever seen, you would put him in the same class as Pele, Di Stefano and Maradona. The kind of football he played changed the game and still has an impact today.”

Reds winger Memphis is currently in Cruyff's birthplace of Amsterdam, preparing for the Netherlands' friendly match against France on Friday night. He commented: "Recently I heard someone say, 'When I'm abroad and tell people I'm from Holland, they say the country that's famous for its tulips and for Johan Cruyff.' That's something that will always remain the same. A true legend, who's no longer with us. It's a sad day."

Peter Schmeichel, one of Jordi Cruyff's former team-mates at United, tweeted: "Terrible news that Johan Cruyff has passed away. One of the greatest players ever, a true giant in our game, he will be sadly missed. RIP."

Two former United and Holland strikers, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Robin van Persie, also used social media to express their sentiments.

Van Nistelrooy tweeted: "RIP Johan Cruyff. Thanks for everything you gave us, on and off the pitch. #Forever14 #Icon ."

Van Persie posted: "RIP Johan Cruyff. The best ever Dutch player we had and will have! The man who changed the game we all love! You have been a big inspiration in my football life Johan! Thank you & may your soul rest in peace!"

Staff at Manchester United send their sincere condolences to Jordi and Johan's other family members and friends.
