It may have been forgotten amongst all the news regarding Hillsborough, but this past weekend saw Liverpool fail to win again, stretching their winless start to the Premier League campaign under Brendan Rodgers.

The 1-1 draw away to Sunderland on Saturday means the Reds have not won any of their previous five league games dating back to the final day of last season. This latest result leaves Rodgers side hovering just outside the relegation zone with only goal difference keeping them above QPR.

The key problem for Liverpool is goals, or the lack of them to be precise, because although they may be more attractive on the eye this term they are just as ineffective in front of goal as they were under Kenny Dalglish.

Just three goals plundered in four games is not a record that will strike fear into the hearts of any defence and it looks even worse when compared to the ten goals that Manchester United have already scored in their opening matches.

While their great rivals have struggled early on, Man United have surged to second place in the table on a sea of goals, despite losing to Everton on the opening weekend.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side were heavily questioned after that defeat on Merseyside when they looked creatively poor, but their response has been typical. A pair of 3-2 wins over both Fulham and Southampton in enthralling encounters got them on their way and just a few days ago Wigan Athletic received their annual Old Trafford thumping as United showed what they are capable of.

As we all know though, form can quite often go out of the window when it comes to derby games and Liverpool will be buoyed from the knowledge that they have won four and drawn one of the past five games between the two sides at Anfield.

In the cold hard light of day, however, Liverpool would appear to be up against it this weekend and the Brendan Rodgers revolution could well have to be put on hold for another week.

Liverpool and Manchester United discuss Hillsborough tribute at Anfield

Liverpool and Manchester United will talk about a tribute to the Hillsborough victims and their families for Sunday, not how to prevent distasteful chanting, in preparation for an emotionally-charged occasion at Anfield.

United are Liverpool's first opponents at Anfield since the Hillsborough Independent Panel revealed the extent of the establishment cover-up over the loss of 96 lives in 1989. A meeting between the north west rivals is always charged but the timing of Sunday's game, the anti-Liverpool chants from a minority of United supporters against Wigan Athletic on Saturday and the ill-feeling between Luis Suárez and Patrice Evra has added to the scrutiny on their latest encounter.

Despite the controversy generated at Old Trafford on Saturday Liverpool have no plans to treat United's visit differently to any other high-profile home fixture. There will be a standard meeting between the clubs this week, warnings about offensive behaviour to all supporters and players reminded of their responsibilities before kick-off.

The only extraordinary measures being taken for the game by Liverpool relate to the findings of the Hillsborough panel. Anfield officials are liaising with representatives of the Hillsborough family groups and an announcement on a tribute to the victims, and those who fought for 23 years to expose the truth, will be made closer to the game. A mosaic on the Kop is one idea under consideration while Liverpool players may again wear tracksuit tops emblazoned with 96 on the back, as they did at Sunderland on Saturday. Relatives of the Hillsborough victims will be invited to take part in a tribute and United are expected to pay their own respects before kick-off.

Both Sir Alex Ferguson and Brendan Rodgers appealed for supporters to cease chanting about tragedies suffered by United and Liverpool following the panel's findings last week. A repeat could be made before Sunday in light of some United supporters ignoring Ferguson's request.

As for Suárez and Evra, Liverpool are confident there will be no repetition of February's controversy at Old Trafford when the Uruguay international refused to shake the United defender's hand before kick off. Suarez was made acutely aware of Liverpool's anger the following day by managing director Ian Ayre and then manager Kenny Dalglish and issued his own apology for events at Old Trafford.

The referee for Sunday's Premier League meeting at Anfield, meanwhile, has been confirmed as Mark Halsey.

Soal Tragedi Hilsborough, MU Akan 'Dukung' Liverpool

Manchester, detiksport- Liverpool dan Manchester United akan berjumpa akhir pekan ini di Anfield. Sir Alex Ferguson pun akan sepenuh mendukung rivalnya itu pasca terkuaknya kebenaranya dari kasus Tragedi Hillsborough.

Pekan lalu jadi momen membahagiakan bagi 96 keluarga korban Hillsborough yang selama 23 tahun mencari keadilan ketika mereka dipersalahkan atas terjadinya insiden di stadion milik Sheffield Wednesday itu.

Penyelidik akhirnya menemukan bukti jika insiden itu murni kelalaian dari petugas keamanan yang tak bisa mengantisipasi membludaknya penonton. Permintaan maaf pun dari Pemerintah Inggris serta FA sudah meluncur.

Tak hanya itu, simpati untuk keluarga korban pun muncul dari klub-klub di Inggris termasuk rival berat Liverpool, Everton dan Manchester United.

Terkhusus Sir Alex Ferguson, yang timnya akan bertemu The Reds akhir pekan ini, ia menjanjikan jika timnya akan mendukung dan menghormati seremoni apapun yang dilakukan lawannya itu selama dan sebelum pertandingan. Apalagi itu adalah laga kandang pertama Liverpool pasca terkuaknya tabir kebenaran dari tragedi tersebut.

Namun, weekend lalu di Old Trafford diisukan terjadi kejadian memalukan di mana segelintir fans MU menyanyikan chant yang isinya diduga mencemooh korban Hillsborough. Hal ini kemudian yang ditakukan akan terjadi lagi saat Liverpool dan MU bertemu, Minggu (23/9) malam WIB besok, dan Fergie pun tak menginginkan itu terjadi.

"Akan jadi hari yang sangat emosional. Kami akan mendukung mereka dengan segala cara yang kami bisa. Kami mendukung Liverpool," tukas Fergie di BBC.

"Saya tidak mendengarya hari Sabtu lalu (soal chant yang mencemooh korban Hillsborough), tapi mungkin yang lain mendengar, khususnya yang berada di boks direktur. (Chief Executive) David Gill sangat kecewa," lanjut Fergie.

"Itu adalah chant baru yang baru dimulai usai kejadian Suarez. Saya kecewa mendengarnya. Itu hanya minoritas. Tapi di sini kaum minoritas ingin didengar."

"Kami mengerti apa yang dirasakan para keluarga tersebut ketika mendapat laporan soal tragedi Hillsborough," pungkas Fergie.

semoga fokus ke hillsborough cepet2 lewat, sorotan media selalu aja ke suporter united, pake bawa2 chant yang sebenernya nggak ada sangkut pautnya sama hillsborough. pfft.

pilih evra apa büttner? buat gw sih saat ini evra dulu yang maju, gimanapun juga büttner blum ada 1 bulan gabung sama united dan fergie sendiri masih bilang 'still raw with too many rough edges'. buat match yg hampir pasti selalu pana, rasanya pengalaman evra jauh lebih dibutuhkan walaupun performanya nggk sebagus saat dia prime dulu.

kedua klub masih underperform di awal liga, walaupun liverpool jauh lebih gawat karna blm pernah menang. tapi kok ya kita nggak pernah menang akhir2 ini klo main di anfield? main sampah lawan tim lain, eh gila klo ketemu united.
