Re: [EPL] Man City 0-0 Man Utd
Manchester City vs Manchester United, Player Rating
MEN Edwin van der Sar - 6 A Tevez free-kick aside, the Dutch veteran hardly had a shot to save such was the control United's defence exerted Rafael - 6 Brazilian youngster may be young in years but revelled in white-hot atmosphere even squaring up to Tevez after one exchange Patrice Evra - 7 Left-back had City flapping on more than one occasion when he ventured forward before being forced off through injury Nemanja Vidic - 8 Reds skipper has looked vulnerable of late at times but was right back to his commanding best when it mattered most Rio Ferdinand - 7 Provided the perfect counter-foil with Vidic and never looked threatened on what was a comfortable night's work Darren Fletcher - 7 The rock-solid heartbeat in the Reds engine room the Scot never stopped working from the first minute to the last Nani - 6 Took some heavy knocks early on which perhaps explains why all too often he was guilty of squandering possession away Michael Carrick - 9 Geordie showed just why he is back in Fergie's good books with a superb display oozing in poise, precision and passion Park Ji-Sung - 7 Maintained the high-octane form that brought him two goals at the weekend. At the centre of much of Reds' best work Paul Scholes - 8 Trademark booking showed that the derby still means so much. More than a match for City's packed midfield ranks Dimitar Berbatov - 8 Jekyll and Hyde striker showed positive side of his nature with some moments of sublime skill and always worried City Substitutes Wes Brown - 6 (for Rafael 48) Veteran defender slotted in seamlessly at the back and ventured forward in support whenever possible John O'Shea - 6 (for Evra 67) Had one nervous moment when he was beatn in the Reds box but otherwise solid and steady throughout Javier Hernandez - 6 ( for Berbatov 77) No super-sub heroics from the Mexican this time around though he never stopped looking for way through

Re: [EPL] Villa 2-2 Man Utd
Aston Villa vs Manchester United, Player Rating
MEN Edwin van der Sar - 6 One excellent save from Downing rest of time spent clearing back passes Patrice Evra - 5 It was an unusual toil against the dangerous speed and trickery of Albrighton Nemanja Vidic - 8 Captain's performance at the back and up front just when Reds needed it Rio Ferdinand - 7 Couple of wobbly moments but generally his usual calm defiance Wes Brown - 5 Never really succeeded in putting the brake on the Downing threat Michael Carrick - 5 Villa's youthful engine room were on top of him Darren Fletcher - 5 Couldn't fault the effort but unable to impose himself on young Villa engine room Nani - 7 Took him a long while to really get into swing of things but made difference when he did Park Ji-Sung - 5 The Korean was all energy but very little impact Dimitar Berbatov - 5 A disappointment. Unable to hurt Villa in any way Javier Hernandez - 5 The Mexican never had anything to get his teeth into Substitutes Chris Smalling - 6 (sub Park, 86) Not much time to mark Gabriel Obertan - 6 (sub Hernandez 73) Lively effort Federico Macheda - 6 (sub Berbatov 73) Well struck goal

Re: [EPL] Man Utd 2-0 Wigan
Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic, Player Rating
MEN Edwin van der Sar - 6 A comfortable afternoon for the Dutchman Patrice Evra - 7 His enterprise paid off with his breakthrough header on half time Rafael - 7 Hardly troubled defensively but provided inviting crosses a highlight Rio Ferdinand - 6 Nothing to seriously ruffle his feathers Nemanja Vidic - 5 Started shakily and never looked like his usual robust and stubborn self Darren Fletcher - 5 Unable to boss the midfield and lift the Reds Michael Carrick - 5 Never managed to get on top of Wigan's engine room Park Ji-Sung - 5 Direct running at Wigan caused some problems and a couple of yellow cards but it was sporadic Nani - 5 One of those days where nothing really happened for him Gabriel Obertan - 5 The French winger didn't cause Latics any serious problems Federico Macheda - 5 Frustrating lone front man on day when nothing created for him Substitutes Paul Scholes - 6 (sub Park 56) Livened up midfield Wayne Rooney - 5 (sub Macheda 56) More needed to win back fans Javier Hernandez - 6 (sub Carrick 65) Hit and miss

Re: [EPL] Man Utd 7-1 Rovers
Manchester United vs Blackburn Rovers, Player Rating
SkySports Edwin van der Sar - 6 Could have enjoyed an afternoon at the Christmas markets he had so little to do Patrice Evra - 7 Effective link up with Park down left caused Rovers problems Rio Ferdinand - 7 As cool as you like on rare occasions he was called upon Nemanja Vidic - 7 Blackburn had nothing in their locker to trouble the skipper Rafael - 7 Frustrated El-Hadji Diouf with a solid defensive effort and dangerous in attack Nani - 8 Two assists and a goal for himself was a destructive effort Park Ji-Sung - 7 Well taken goal was the highlight of a positive display Anderson - 8 The Brazilian looked leaner and was certainly quicker than he's been in a long while Michael Carrick - 7 Neat and tidy in everything he did as Reds dominated midfield Dimitar Berbatov - 10 Brilliant from start to finish. Clinical in box, marvellous touches and devastating vision Wayne Rooney - 8 If he'd scored this would have been almost as good as he was last season Substitutes Jonny Evans - 5 (sub Vidic 64) Out-jumped for Rovers goal
