Re: [FA] Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic
FA Cup preview: Manchester United v Wigan
How can I follow the game? Sunday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie kicks off at 16:00 GMT and will be broadcast live in the UK on BBC One. MUTV subscribers can see all the build-up in Match Day Live from 15:00 GMT and then watch highlights on ManUtd.com or the full game on MUTV at midday on Monday. Fans can also follow the action as it happens via ManUtd.com's live blog and the club's official Twitter account, @ManUtd. Set the scene for me… After reaching the final of one competition on Thursday night in the EFL Cup, the Reds are now aiming to continue the defence of the FA Cup, which began with a 4-0 victory over another Championship team in Jaap Stam's Reading earlier this month. Despite booking a Wembley date with Southampton after a 3-2 aggregate success against Hull City, United will be looking to bounce back after seeing the impressive 17-game unbeaten run come to an end at the KCOM Stadium. And a familiar face returns, right? Yes, former United Reserves coach Warren Joyce will make his first return to Old Trafford since leaving last November to take over the managerial reins from Gary Caldwell at Wigan. The 52-year-old will undoubtedly receive a warm welcome from United fans, having helped to nurture several current first-team players during his eight years working in the youth set-up, such as Marcus Rashford. Joyce, who guided our Reserves to the league title last term, said he wasn't surprised the draw threw up a reunion with the Reds and is looking forward to coming back to his old club. Any team news? The Reds have a clean bill of health and Eric Bailly may return to the squad after his exploits at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast. Jose Mourinho has confirmed Anthony Martial and Sergio Romero will play, with David De Gea rested. The boss, who made five changes for the game against Hull, has stated he will field a strong line-up on Sunday, with Luke Shaw in contention to make his comeback from injury. Meanwhile, new Wigan signing Jamie Hanson, who joined on loan this week, is ineligible having already featuring in the competition for his parent club Derby County. Joyce also confirmed the game will come too soon for Alex Gilbey and former United defender Reece James. How have Wigan fared lately? The Latics have found the going tough so far this season and have spent most of it in the Championship relegation zone. But they have found some form in recent weeks, winning three games in a row after losing six of the previous seven, a run which has moved them out of the bottom three on goal difference. After beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the third round of the FA Cup, the 2013 winners will be desperate to keep their cup run alive when they visit the Theatre of Dreams for the first time since September 2012. Any other United connections in the Wigan squad? As well as manager Joyce, three Latics players have also represented the Reds in the past. James and Ryan Tunnicliffe were regulars for the Reserves under Joyce but only made two first-team appearances each, while the currently sidelined Nick Powell made nine appearances for United, with his only goal coming on his debut against Wigan in 2012. Another former United midfielder, Ravel Morrison, has also been training with the Latics recently. What about our previous meetings? The Reds have won all but one of the sides' 18 competitive encounters since 2005, including the 2006 League Cup final, but this will be the first time the teams have met in the FA Cup. United's only defeat to Wigan came in a 1-0 reverse in the Premier League in April 2012, while the Reds encountered the Latics last summer in a friendly at the DW Stadium, as goals from Academy graduates Will Keane and Andreas Pereira gave Jose Mourinho a 2-0 victory in his first game in charge. Any other trivia? United, who can move ahead of Arsenal as the most successful side in FA Cup history by lifting the trophy for a 13th time, are seeking to reach the fifth round of the competition for the fourth time in the last five seasons. The game represents the Reds' 56th consecutive televised FA Cup tie, while Mourinho has won all of his four previous competitive matches against Wigan as a manager. What are this weekend's other FA Cup fixtures? The Reds are one of 13 Premier League teams who are still in the competition and bidding to reach the fifth round. Here’s the lowdown of all the ties to be played this weekend, starting on Friday night… Friday 27 January (15:00 GMT unless stated)Derby County v Leicester City (19:55) Saturday 28 JanuaryLiverpool v Wolverhampton Wanderers (12:30), Blackburn Rovers v Blackpool, Burnley v Bristol City, Chelsea v Brentford, Crystal Palace v Manchester City, Lincoln City v Brighton, Middlesbrough v Accrington Stanley, Oxford United v Newcastle United, Rochdale v Huddersfield Town, Tottenham Hotspur v Wycombe Wanderers, Southampton v Arsenal (17:30) Sunday 29 JanuaryMillwall v Watford (12:00), Fulham v Hull City (12:30), Sutton United v Leeds United (14:00)

Re: [FA] Manchester United vs Wigan Athletic
Mourinho's team news update for Wigan tie
Sergio Romero and Anthony Martial will start for Manchester United in Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie at home to Wigan Athletic, manager Jose Mourinho has revealed. The boss has confirmed he will rest no.1 David De Gea for the Old Trafford clash against Warren Joyce’s Latics, providing Argentina international Romero the chance to make his sixth appearance of the season, with recent loan returnee Joel Pereira set to be named on the bench. Martial, meanwhile, will come back into the side after missing the last two games and Mourinho has challenged him to keep his place for next Wednesday's Premier League encounter against Hull City. Speaking after Thursday’s EFL Cup semi-final aggregate victory over the Tigers, Mourinho said: "This is the second match for us in the FA Cup and I want to do it in a serious way. We have to play with a very good team; the only player that is out is De Gea – I’ll give him a few days off. "I will play Romero, I will put Joel on the bench and apart from that I go with a good team because we want to try to beat them. Anthony will play on Sunday and if he plays magnificently, he will play against Hull in the next match – it’s simple." Continuing on the theme of team news, Mourinho stated: "I will make some changes – that’s obvious. We play Hull again three days after Wigan but I’m going to play a good team with the responsibility to give fans a good performance at home and with the responsibility to try to win against Wigan." Former Reserves coach Joyce makes a quick return to Old Trafford, having ended his eight-year spell with the Reds to take the reins at Wigan in November. "We know the difficulty to play against Championship teams," Mourinho told reporters. "We played Wigan already in pre-season and now they are with Warren, who knows us well and will come with special motivation to play against his old club. "I worked at the club with him for a few months but it was enough to know he’s a very nice man, a very passionate football man. He took the risk, accepted the challenge and left a good situation at this club. "His team will be very aggressive, very well organised defensively and also emotional, like the manager is emotional, so it will be a difficult match."

Semoga Romero bisa tampil baik menjaga gawang United untuk membuktikan bahwa meski sebagai kiper kedua dirinya layak diperhitungkan

MOURINHO OFFERS MORE STARTING XI CLUES
Jose Mourinho has provided more clues to his team selection for Sunday's Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie with Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford. After already confirming Sergio Romero and Anthony Martial are set to be named in the starting line-up, the boss has suggested Luke Shaw and Wayne Rooney will also feature in the XI. Both England internationals were on the bench for Thursday's EFL Cup encounter at Hull City, with skipper Rooney coming on in the second half. The manager was also asked about Bastian Schweinsteiger's possible involvement against Warren Joyce's Championship side, as the Reds look to follow up clinching a place at Wembley in the EFL Cup final next month with a smooth passage into the fifth round of a competition won last May. "I play Romero, I play Shaw," Mourinho told reporters for Sunday's national newspapers. "I play Anthony Martial, I play Wayne Rooney. "I played Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard [at Hull]. In the game before, I played Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. In the next match, I will play Martial. They have to fight and win positions in relation to their performances. "I have to read the situation and decide [about Schweinsteiger]. We don't have many midfield players - I played three [on Thursday]. Marouane Fellaini was on the bench and Basti stayed in Manchester so, normally, he comes into the squad." HTML Code:
