Jakarta - Anda penggemar film sekaligus pecinta Manchester United? Tentunya, 'The Class of 92' tak boleh dilewatkan.

Dari judulnya, jalan cerita dari film dokumenter ini tentu bisa ditebak; 'The Class of 92' akan fokus pada awal karier dari David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, hingga Gary dan Phil Neville di klub yang membesarkan nama mereka itu.

'The Class of 92' akan menyorot periode 1992-1999, dengan klimaks saat United memenangi Liga Champions. Film ini akan memaparkan bagaimana enam anak muda berusia 14 tahun dari latar belakang yang berbeda, datang ke satu klub untuk bermain sepakbola.

Butt, Scholes, dan Phil Neville akan ikutan tampil di film arahan sutradara Ben dan Gabe Turner ini. Selain itu, akan ada juga wawancara berisi testimonial dari Zinedine Zidane, Tony Blair, Eric Cantona, Danny Boyle hingga pemain bass dari band 'The Stone Roses', Mani Mounfield.

“Saya senang dapat mengumumkan peluncuran film dokumenter ‘The Class of 92 ‘, yang akan tayang pada tanggal 1 Desember. Itu sebuah film yang fantastis untuk bisa kembali lagi dengan para pemain lainnya dan itu merupakan sebuah kenangan fantastis waktu kita sama-sama di United,”

"Waktu yang aku lewatkan bersama mereka di Manchester United adalah masa paling spesial dalam karierku. Kami datang dengan latar belakang berbeda, tumbuh seperti keluarga bermain sepekbola bersama, semua menginginkan kesuksesan," ucap Beckham seperti dilansir Digital Spy, Rabu (6/11).

"Pada akhirnya, yang kami raih melebihi impian terliar kami." tambahnya.

Giggs menambahkan, ketika ia setuju untuk terlibat, ada kesempatan baginya untuk berpikir semua yang telah dilalui. Tak hanya dalam kariernya, tapi keterlibatan teman-teman dekatnya itu.

“Ketika saya didekati untuk ikut bermain difilm ini , itu memberi saya kesempatan untuk memikirkan kembali semua kejadian saya dan juga semua pemain yang terlibat di film ini. Semoga Anda melihat betapa personal film ini untuk kami. Di sini, kami masih teman baik semua, dan siapa yang bisa menolak bermain film dengan teman-teman terbaikmu,” kata pria yang masih bermain sebagai gelandang, sementara rekan-rekannya yang lain sudah pensiun, tersebut.

'The Class of 92' yang diproduksi Universal Pictures akan tayang di bioskop Inggris pada 1 Desember mendatang. Belum jelas apakah film ini akan tayang di Indonesia atau tidak.

Sayang banget kalo cuma film dokumenter menurut ane, coba dibikin film pake cast kayak film UNITED dulu, bakalan lebih seru tuh. Tapi tetep penasaran banget pengen nonton, secara ini narasumbernya langsung dari para pemain

The Class of '92 Documentary Set for December Release

First we knew them as Fergie's Fledglings. Now they're eponymous subjects of a new documentary titled The Class of '92.

The documentary, which tells the story of a golden generation of young Manchester United players, is set for cinema release in the UK and Ireland from Dec. 1. It will also be available on DVD from Dec. 2.

But you can see a trailer of the film today. All you have to do is watch the clip above.

The Class of '92 chronicles the rise of six young players at Manchester United—David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Phil Neville, Gary Neville and Nicky Butt—starting in 1992. Those players became the core of a side that won several trophies, including the 1999 UEFA Champions League.

In the documentary, the players reunite to discuss their rise from youth team players to world-beaters. Others interviewed include Zinedine Zidane, former Prime Minister Tony Blair and Manchester United legend Eric Cantona.

In a Facebook post announcing the project, Beckham wrote: "It was fantastic to get back with the boys again and go through all those fantastic memories of our time at United. I hope you like it as much as we enjoyed making it."

The film was directed by brothers Gabe and Ben Turner.
