Manchester United and Chelsea 'set for £100m summer transfer battle over Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho'

* Jadon Sancho has been linked with a whole host of top Premier League clubs
* It has been reported that Chelsea and Manchester United are set for huge battle
* After stunning start to life in Dortmund, there is a £100m price tag on his head
* Chelsea would have to get rid of some senior stars to create room for winger

Jadon Sancho is set to be the subject of a mammoth £100million summer transfer battle between Chelsea and Manchester United, according to reports.

Sancho is one of the hottest talents in world football after a stunning spell with Borussia Dortmund, and he has been consistently linked with a return to England.

The Sun report that Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are both keen, with their clubs set to go head-to-head in a bidding war for the player at the end of the season.

Jadon Sancho is reportedly the subject of a mammoth Premier League summer transfer battle. Chelsea and Frank Lampard are one of the clubs said to be involved in the transfer chase

Chelsea boss Lampard is reported to have been keen in January, and the Blues have already explored the possibility of bringing the 19-year-old England winger back to his home country.

United, with Solskjaer in charge, had a similar issue and failed to stump up the funds alongside their purchase of Bruno Fernandes for £55m.

It is also understood that Chelsea would have to offload some of their senior players in order to fund a deal for Sancho, and it would require a lot of summer movement.

Sancho has netted 11 goals in his last 12 matches and is thriving alongside the likes of Erling Haaland in the Bundesliga.

The London-born winger started his career at Watford before joining Manchester City in 2015.

He spent two years at the Etihad before signing for Dortmund in a deal worth around £8m, and has now turned into perhaps the most exciting young prospect in Europe.

Default Re: Jadon Sancho

Now LIVERPOOL want Jadon Sancho: Reds tell Borussia Dortmund they'd like to sign England winger this summer - and hope Jurgen Klopp's relationship with his former club will help them pip rivals to £100m man

* Borussia Dortmund are expected to demand £100million for Jadon Sancho
* Premier League leaders Liverpool have now joined the race for the teenager
* Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man Utd are all interested
* Reds hope Jurgen Klopp's connections at Dortmund could help them land a deal

Liverpool have informed Borussia Dortmund of their desire to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, with the German club expected to demand at least £100million for the 19-year-old England forward.

Manchester City are also expected to bid for Sancho, who left the Etihad for Dortmund in the summer of 2017, while Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also interested.

Liverpool are about to enter into a club-record kit deal with Sancho's sponsors Nike, and will hope manager Jurgen Klopp's connections with Dortmund, who he led for seven years, will work in their favour in pursuit of the Londoner.

Sancho is also good friends with Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jordan Henderson. And he is close to Rhian Brewster, on loan at Swansea from Liverpool, the pair having helped England win the Under 17 World Cup in 2017.

Klopp admitted in January it would be 'very difficult' to improve on his squad, but he has also been open about his admiration for Sancho.

Speaking last February, Klopp praised his former club for their shrewd £8m capture of Sancho and said they had an advantage because England's big clubs rarely do business with each other.

He said: 'Buying English players is a smart idea because we would never have a chance to get Sancho. We are not blind — we saw him, we liked him and then we think, "Can we get him?" No. Because English clubs don't sell to other English clubs.'

Since moving to Germany, Sancho has become one of world football's most exciting young attacking talents and broken into Gareth Southgate's senior England squad.

Jadon Sancho is set to be a man in demand this summer and Liverpool have joined the race. The 19-year-old England international is also a target for former club Manchester City. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has previously praised Dortmund for signing Sancho

He is in outstanding form, with 12 goals and 14 assists in just 19 Bundesliga games this season. Last month he became the youngest player to reach 25 Bundesliga goals.

Meanwhile, Klopp will hold talks with Mohamed Salah after Egypt declared they want to pick him for this summer's Tokyo Olympics.

Salah would miss Liverpool's pre-season and the start of the campaign if he were to feature in the Olympic football tournament, which runs from July 23 to August 8. The final decision on Salah's involvement will be left to the player.

Manchester United 'confident of winning race to sign Jadon Sancho' but 'need Champions League qualification' to seal £120m deal

* Manchester United are confident of winning the race to sign Jadon Sancho
* The 19-year-old has emerged as European football's most in-demand player
* Borussia Dortmund will allow the starlet to leave in a huge £120million deal
* United are aware Champions League football is necessary to pull off the move

Manchester United are reportedly confident of winning the race to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Jadon Sancho this summer - but there is a catch.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are set to head a long list of clubs competing for the signature of Europe's most in-demand attacking player.

However, the Red Devils know their optimism rests on the need to secure a top four Champions League place this season, as report Sky Sports.

United are able to meet Dortmund's financial demands for the player, while having the power to match any rival's lucrative wage offers.

Dortmund have already made clear their willingness to allow the youngster to leave, though will demand a £120million fee in order to sign off on a deal.

As things stand Solskjaer's men currently sit four points adrift of the top four places, and made up serious ground recently with victory over rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues have also been linked with Sancho, who grew up supporting the club as a child in Kennington.

Frank Lampard is able to offer the England international guaranteed first team football, though has his work cut out to ensure his side are among the Champions League elite next season.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are also among the Premier League's interested parties, and sit as favourites with bookmakers to get the deal done.

Sancho has 13 goals and 13 assists to his name this season, after 26 Bundesliga games played.

He recently held a starring role in Dortmund's European triumph over Paris Saint Germain, in which Erling Haaland scored twice during a 2-1 comeback.

Manchester United 'leading the race to buy Jadon Sancho for over £100M and make him the record Premier League signing' despite Liverpool interest

* Borussia Dortmund are willing to let Jadon Sancho leave in the summer window
* Manchester United are leading the race to sign the England winger
* Liverpool are keen but United are ahead of the pack as they look to sign the star

Manchester United are at the front of the race to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer, according to reports.

The England winger will be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season as they look to make a huge profit on a player who cost them just £8million on arrival from Manchester City.

And United are leading the charge for a player who will cost more than the £89m United spent on Paul Pogba four years ago, making him a record Premier League arrival.

Manchester United are at the front of the race to sign Jadon Sancho in the summer window. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants the winger in as he looks to rebuild his squad at United. The England winger will be allowed to leave Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season

According to the Telegraph, it will not be difficult for United to agree personal terms for Sancho that are expected to top £200,000 a week if they come to a fee, which is likely to top £100m.

Sancho has 14 Bundesliga goals and 14 assists this season and is attracting interest from Liverpool, while Manchester City have the right to match any bid.

Liverpool are likely to add new attackers in the summer but United are reported to be clear at the head of the pack.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a new right winger as he rebuilds the squad at United while he is also keen on Jack Grealish at Aston Villa.

Dortmund are thought to be actively looking for replacements for the coming transfer window with Sancho's value likely to rise if he stars for England at the European Championship.

Sancho refused to be drawn on his future when he was asked about it at the weekend. He score the only goal of the game as his side beat Freiburg to stay in the title hunt.

'I don't really look at all them things,' Sancho said. 'I just concentrate on my team and take it game by game.

'That's the most important thing for me now.'

Jadon Sancho might be 'the greatest talent in Europe' and may push to leave Borussia Dortmund, the club's CEO has admitted.

Hans-Joachim Watzke hailed the 19-year-old winger as as one of the best under the age of 21 he has seen.

The starlet has been linked with a host of Europe's top clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid after lighting up the Bundesliga.

Watzke told RMC Sport: 'Jadon is a great, great talent, maybe the greatest talent in Europe currently of players under the age of 21.

'In my opinion, he has the potential to become one of the two or three best players in the world in the years to come.'

The German businessman, 60, said Dortmund have a good relationship with Sancho and will try to hold on to him for as long as possible.

Manchester United are understood to be winning the race to sign him and were expected to have to part with around £100million.

He has also netted 17 goals and had 19 assists in all competitions this season for Dortmund.

The Bundesliga giants have slapped a £100million price tag on the winger, but the steep fee looks unlikely to deter Premier League clubs.

Manchester United 'confident of winning race to sign Jadon Sancho THIS SUMMER' with Old Trafford club hopeful of agreeing £120m deal for winger

* Jadon Sancho is widely expected to leave Borussia Dortmund in transfer window
* Manchester United are interested and willing to spend big to secure winger
* Englishman could move for £120million but a number of clubs are in the hunt

Manchester United 'lead the race to sign Jadon Sancho for £120million' this summer.

The Borussia Dortmund winger is widely expected to leave the Bundesliga side this summer and a host of top sides are interested.

According to the Mirror, United are front-runners and willing to part with £120m to secure the talented Englishman.

Sancho only joined Dortmund from United's rivals Manchester City back in 2017 and has seen his value skyrocket.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona and Juventus are among the other sides understood to be interested.

But the £120m price tag is regarded as too high by some, putting United in control of the situation.

United believe the £120m still represents solid value for the age and ability Sancho could offer the side.

Jadon Sancho is one of the most sought-after young players in European football. Ed Woodward could sanction a £120million move for the Borussia Dortmund star. Sancho has been phenomenal for Dortmund this season but looks to be on the move. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Sancho as a key transfer target but a number of clubs are interested

It would shatter the previous club transfer record with the £89m paid for Paul Pogba still the most they have spent on a signing.

The Old Trafford club also tried to recruit Sancho last summer and their long-held desire to sign the 20-year-old could stand them in good stead.

They are said to be encouraged by the noises coming from the youngster's camp and are optimistic about their chances.

Sancho had 16 goals to his name in all competitions this term before coronavirus brought a suspension to play.

'All clubs are running on sight - even in England!': Jadon Sancho's asking price is scaring the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea away given the coronavirus crisis, says Dortmund chief

* Dortmund are hopeful they can convince Jadon Sancho to extend his contract
* Manchester United and Chelsea are both in the race to sign the England winger
* Sporting director Michael Zorc says the club remain calm about the situation
* He insists they are more concerned with the immediate impact of Covid-19

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insists the club are 'totally relaxed' about the future of coveted youngster Jadon Sancho and have bigger concerns at this present time.

The 20-year-old is the subject of major interest from Premier League giants like Manchester United and Chelsea after another stunning season in the Bundesliga.

Sancho netted 14 goals and provided 16 assists in his 23 Bundesliga matches this season before it was shut down due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The Englishman, who is approaching the final two years of his current deal, has been offered a huge wage rise by Dortmund and Zorc says the club are more concerned with other matters at present.

Zorc said: 'There is no new stance. At the moment, all clubs are running on sight - even in England!

'I cannot and do not want to lean too far out of the window with forecasts because the situation is changing daily. We will see what happens.

Borussia Dortmund say they are relaxed about the future of young star Jadon Sancho. Sporting director Michael Zorc says the club have bigger concerns than Sancho right now

'We have a long-term contract with Jadon Sancho. This will not change now. We are totally relaxed about it.

'The most important issues that are currently occupying us are rather: what is the way forward? When do we play again?

'It would be of paramount importance for all of us to be able to finish the season.'

The Bundesliga is hoping to return on May 9 with spectator-free matches.

The German Football League (DFL) is determined to finish the current season with its 36 professional clubs meeting on Thursday to discuss a restart of the season next month.

However, Germany's football authorities still face some huge questions before they get the green light to resume football in the country behind closed doors.

Real Madrid have entered the race for Manchester United and Chelsea target Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

Borussia Dortmund winger Sancho has been heavily linked with a £100million transfer to Manchester United, while the Blues are also said to be interested.

And now LaLiga giants Real have joined the competition for the 20-year-old's signature, but they are relying on other teams not swooping for him this summer, according to AS.

Zinedine Zidane's outfit reportedly cannot afford to splash the cash on Sancho in a few months but it is unquestionable that the England international is on the radar as the Frenchman looks to overhaul his attacking options.

Sancho has underlined his quality once again this season with an incredible 17 goals and 17 assists in 27 Bundesliga games for Dortmund - including a hat-trick in the 6-1 victory at the weekend at Paderborn.

Since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus in 2018, Real's attack has lacked the same number of goals with the Portuguese star gone and the likes of Luka Jovic and Gareth Bale have fallen down Zidane's pecking order.

Eden Hazard arrived in the summer from Chelsea but has had an injury-hit start to life in the Spanish capital while Vinicius Jr has struggled to develop at the same pace Sancho is in Dortmund

Sancho is one of the hottest properties in world football after impressing in Germany. He notched 12 goals and provided 17 assists in 34 league matches last campaign and has bettered that this time round.

The youngster, a product of Manchester City's youth academy, has established himself as one of the Bundesliga's leading stars following his departure from the Etihad two years ago.

He made his England debut in October 2018 as a substitute in the 0-0 draw with Croatia and has 11 caps to his name.

While he was compared to five-time Ballon d'or winner Ronaldo by former Manchester United defender Wes Brown this week, current team-mate Axel Witsel was equally gushing in his recent comments.

'I think he's one of the best of his generation. He still has a lot to improve, to progress, because he is really young,' Witsel told Bundesliga.com after the win over Paderborn at the weekend.

'But I'm sure in his position, as a winger, he will be one of the best.'
