Manchester United suffered a major blow to their hopes of landing a fourth successive title after losing to arch rivals Chelsea.

Goals from Joe Cole and Didier Drogba put the visitors firmly in control before United staged a brave rally in which substitute Federico Macheda produced a late reply.

United are now two points behind Chelsea with just five Premier League matches remaining. It all made for frustrating viewing for the injured Wayne Rooney who was watching from a private box at Old Trafford.

The result could be decisive in the championship race and it remains to be seen whether it has any damaging effect on morale for Wednesday's Champions League quarter final against Bayern Munich with the Germans holding a 2-1 lead from the first leg.

Cole opened the scoring after 20 minutes, punishing slack United cover by flicking home a cross from Florent Malouda.

United were poor in the first half when both sides could have been awarded penalties. Yuri Zhirkov was fortunate to escape when he caught Ji-sung Park right on the edge of the penalty area, but referee Mike Dean ignored the penalty claims. At the other end Gary Neville appeared to barge Nicolas Anelka.

The Reds improved after the break but were stung when Salomon Kalou set up Drogba with 13 minutes left although the Chelsea man was clearly in an offside position.

Drogba had barely been on the field a matter of minutes and an inspired substitution by Sir Alex Ferguson paid immediate dividends when Federico Macheda bundled in three minutes after Chelsea's second goal although there was a suspicion of handball.

United could have snatched an equaliser in the final moments but Dimitar Berbatov scorned a good opportunity set up by Neville.

iya bener tuh.. gw juga ntn streaming, tapi emang keliatan nya gol nya si macheda itu bersih pake dada, justru malah gol nya drogba tuh yg bener2 murni offside sampe komentator nya aja bilang itu offside kan..
