Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian set for exit as Napoli chief confirms loan offer for outcast

* Napoli have submitted a loan offer to Manchester United for Matteo Darmian
* The defender is keen to leave United this summer due to footballing reasons
* Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed an offer has been made for him
* Jose Mourinho is happy to sanction the deal despite a shortage of fit right-backs

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed the club have opened up negotiations with Manchester United over a potential loan deal to sign Matteo Darmian.

The Serie A side launched an official bid for the wantaway defender this week, which is a season-long loan offer with a view to a permanent transfer.

Darmian has serious intentions to leave United this summer due to footballing reasons and Jose Mourinho is not prepared to stand in his way should an offer meet the club's valuation.

Matteo Darmian (middle) is set to leave Manchester United after Napoli make loan offer

United will still consider the loan bid from Napoli despite it not being an up front cash deal, but will first look to ensure a provisional fee is agreed for the signing to be made permanent at the end of the season.

AC Milan, Juventus and Inter have also expressed an interest in bringing Darmian back to Italy, but Napoli are now the frontrunners to land his signature after making the first move.

De Laurentiis told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli: 'We have asked for Darmian on a loan with a right to sign next summer.'

It is understood Mourinho is happy to sanction the deal despite his shortage of fit and available right-backs for the start of the season.

Antonio Valencia and summer signing Diogo Dalot are both currently sidelined and are not expected to recover from their injuries anytime soon.

The United boss has expressed his discontent at the club's lack of transfer activity this summer and may demand a replacement is brought in for insurance before Darmian is allowed to leave.

Juventus plot sensational move to re-sign Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba and are 'ready to cash in on Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani to make it happen'

* Juventus are ready to sell four of their star players to sign France star Paul Pogba
* The Serie A club have made initial contact with his representative about a deal
* Man United may be willing to listen amid his bad relationship with Jose Mourinho
* Juve will sell Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani to fund a move

Juventus are 'plotting a sensational move to bring Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba back' to Italy this summer.

The Serie A club have made initial contact with Pogba's representative, Mino Raiola, and have informed him that they are exploring the possibility of re-signing the midfielder they sold to United for £89million two years ago.

It is understood United may be willing to listen to an offer from Juventus amid Pogba's fractious relationship with manager Jose Mourinho, which developed towards the back end of last season after the France star was dropped from the side.

Juventus are 'ready to sell star players' to finance a move to re-sign midfielder Paul Pogba

Their awkward relationship was emphasised by Mourinho's comments over the past week regarding the Frenchman's performances at the World Cup.

Instead of complementing his player, Mourinho took the opportunity to make thinly-veiled suggestions that Pogba needs to up his game to a similar level for United.

He said: 'I don't think it's about us getting the best out of him, it's about him giving the best he has to give.'

Man United may be willing to listen to Juve amid Pogba's poor relationship with Jose Mourinho. Their relationship deteriorated last season after Mourinho dropped Pogba for several games. Mourinho emphasised the unease between them by hinting Pogba must improve for United

This will not have gone unnoticed by Pogba - who is currently on holiday in LA after helping France win the World Cup - and may make a Juventus return seem all the more tempting.

The logistics of a deal to sign Pogba will not be simple, though, with Juventus short on funds after splashing out in excess of £85million to bring Cristiano Ronaldo to the Allianz Stadium.

However, according to The Mirror, Juventus have conjured up a plan to combat that and are prepared to cash in on Miralem Pjanic, Gonzalo Higuain, Daniele Rugani and Mattia Caldara in a bid to finance the kind of offer that would test United’s resolve.

Juve are ready to exploit the situation and sell Gonzalo Higuain and Miralem Pjanic to sign him

They are also prepared to sell Daniele Rugani, who Chelsea are pushing to sign this summer

Juve boss Max Allegri has envisioned teaming Pogba up with Ronaldo as they look to turn their unrivalled domestic dominance into a challenge for the Champions League this season and is confident he can persuade him to re-join the club to make that a reality.

They got the ball rolling by offering Manchester City Pjanic as an alternative option after the Premier League champions missed out on Fred and Jorginho.

The Italian side value the Bosnian playmaker at around £90m and have made it clear they have no intention of selling for any less.

Chelsea are also reportedly pressing ahead with deals to sign Higuain and highly-rated defender Rugani for a combined fee in the region of £95m and plan to send officials to Italy next week to broker a deal.

Everton interested in signing Marcos Rojo from Manchester United in £30m deal as Marco Silva plots reunion with player he coached at Sporting Lisbon

* Marco Silva worked with Marcos Rojo when pair were at Sporting Lisbon
* Everton manager has made central defender one of his priorities this summer
* Silva knows Rojo well and wants to play him on the left side of a back three
* United received inquiry from Lyon for Victor Lindelof but knocked back interest

Everton are interested in signing Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo in a £30million deal.

New Everton boss Marco Silva, who was coach of Sporting Lisbon when Rojo left the Portuguese club for Old Trafford in a £16m transfer four years ago, has made signing the Argentina centre-back one of his priorities this summer.

Silva knows the 28-year-old well and wants him to play on the left side of a back-three.

United are aware of Everton’s interest but have yet to receive a formal offer.

Rojo went on holiday to Mexico after the World Cup and returned to Manchester last week instead of joining his United teammates on tour in the US.

He was said to be carrying a knock from the tournament in Russia, but the main reason was to discuss his future after learning that he was the most likely of United’s five centre-backs to be sold to make way for a new signing.

United have also received an inquiry from Lyon for Victor Lindelof, who only moved to Old Trafford from Benfica a year ago, but they knocked back the interest from the French club.

Jose Mourinho is desperate to sign a new centre-back before the transfer window closes on August 9, but United are being frustrated in their efforts to prise England defender Harry Maguire from Leicester.

Maguire is thought to be keen on a move, but Leicester don’t have to sell and are reluctant to do so after allowing Riyad Mahrez to join Manchester City.

Jose Mourinho believes he will only secure 'one, not two' of his transfer targets before window closes

* Manchester United manager has spoken of desire to sign two new players
* Jose Mourinho accepts every manager wants more and cannot always have it
* Portuguese said: 'I'm confident I'll get one, but I think I'm not going to get two'
* He thinks lack of 'commercial' distractions helped Paul Pogba at World Cup

Jose Mourinho believes he will secure one of his two targeted signings before the transfer window closes.

The Manchester United boss admitted he always wants more but accepts that one new addition may have to suffice.

When asked whether he is confident of sealing deals for both targets, Mourinho told BeIn Sports: ': 'No, I'm confident I'll get one, but I think I'm not going to get two, which is not a drama.

'I think in every pre-season it is probably the same with every club. The manager wants more, it is our nature, it is our way of being, you always want more.

'But club decisions are different and you normally don't get what you want. So if I get one player until the end of the marker, that's fine.

United are keen on both Harry Maguire and Yerry Mina but £52million Fred is United's only major addition this summer so Mourinho is clear on his side to start the season.

'I more or less know my best starting team, it's not going to be very different, we have basically the same players. One transfer is a cover goalkeeper and the other a 19-year-old kid, so the one new player is Fred.'

Jose Mourinho believes he will be able to sign one, not two of his Manchester United targets. Harry Maguire is a target for the United boss but Leicester are playing hardball. The Portuguese accepts that every manager always wants more in the transfer window

And despite the lack of transfer activity, the 55-year-old is happy for the early closure of the window this year.

'I'm not a fan of some players starting the Premier League with one club and a couple of weeks later. What I don't agree is that the Premier League starts now, you look to other countries, countries with lots of players who played at the World Cup, they start later,' he added.

And Mourinho also remarked on Paul Pogba's impressive World Cup campaign, interestingly pointing out that the midfielder thrived without commercial and personal distractions in Russia.

'The World Cup takes one month and for the month the players are in the closed camp, isolated from the external world, isolated from commercial compromises and every possible influence.

'When they get to the knockout stages and they think they can win the World Cup it becomes a closed shell and they just think about football,' he concluded.

His initial focus though is on convincing Jose Mourinho to select him for United's opening Premier League fixture against Leicester City.

Victor Lindelof and Phil Jones are joining up with training this week but Mourinho is short of full-back options as he is without the injured Antonio Valencia and Diogo Dalot while Napoli are trying to sign wantaway Italian Matteo Darmian.

Manchester United eye Yerry Mina deal with the Barcelona defender not keen on possible Everton transfer

* The 23-year-old has moved up Manchester United's list of possible signings
* They view the likes of Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld as overpriced
* Everton are thought to have offered £26million for him but he may not be keen

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of a deal for Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina.

The 23-year-old Colombia international has been moved up United's list of options as Leicester's Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld of Tottenham are considered over-priced.

Barcelona want around £30million for Mina and have interest from Everton though the player is reluctant to go to Goodison just months after joining Barcelona.

Manchester United are looking into a possible move for Colombia defender Yerry Mina

The Old Trafford side view other options, like Harry Maguire, as overpriced by their clubs

Should he leave he wants to join a Champions League club. Lyon have also expressed interest but fear Mina is holding on for United to make an offer.

United returned on Wednesday from their tour of the USA while Barcelona were in Dallas. However, a United delegation is expected to meet up with Barcelona officials in Spain on Thursday to go over the possible figures.

Jose Mourinho wants a dominant centre-back yet while initial reports on Mina at Palmeiras were promising, his form was very erratic for Barcelona last season.

That prompted the club to upgrade to Sevilla's Clement Lenglet, ironically a player scouted by United last season.

Jose Mourinho is keen to bring another dominant central defender to United this summer. Everton are also keen on Mina and are understood to have offered Barcelona £26m for him

United may yet offload Marcos Rojo to Everton to help offset their spending, though talks on that move are still in the early stages, but many within the club don't see Mina as being any better than the defenders they already have.

Everton are understood to have offered £26m for Mina and, while Barcelona officials have heard of United interest, they had not considered it to be serious.

He made just six appearances for Barcelona last season after joining for £11m in January.

United play Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Sunday in their final warm-up game before beginning the Premier League season with a Friday night home game against Leicester on August 10.

Manchester United offered chance to sign £50million-rated Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich as they hold talks with Barcelona over Yerry Mina

* Manchester United offered chance to sign £50million-rated Jerome Boateng
* United have also held discussions with Barcelona over defender Yerry Mina
* Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld is another option to strengthen at centre back

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign £50m-rated Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich. United have held talks with Barcelona for defender Yerry Mina but are considering other options.

Matt Judge, United's head of corporate finance, was at their London offices on Thursday but is understood to have held talks with Barcelona over 25-year-old Mina, who also has interest from Everton and Lyon and is valued around £30m.

Barcelona also need to sell the Colombian to make room on their non-EU quota for Arturo Vidal who is poised to join from Bayern Munich for £27m.

Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Jerome Boateng from Bayern Munich

The 29-year-old Boateng saw a move to Paris Saint-Germain stall this week and Bayern are open to selling the Germany international.

Boateng did not enjoy a good World Cup and age is against him as United consider Bayern's asking price of £50m.

Similar logic applies to Toby Alderweireld at Tottenham with the London club wanting over £50m for the Belgian while Leicester insist Harry Maguire is simply not for sale.

United continue to look at options to offset their spending with Marcos Rojo a target for Everton, Paris St Germain and Zenit St Petersburg.

While Anthony Martial has been floated as an option for Bayern, he is not a player they wish to pursue at this stage.

United keeper Joel Pereira, meanwhile, has completed his move to Vitoria Setubal on loan.

Leicester City have made an enquiry for Adnan Januzaj. The 23-year-old Real Sociedad winger is valued around £15m and Manchester United have a buy-back option.
