Man United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka was carrying back injury that ruled him out of England's upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers

* Aaron Wan-Bissaka was forced to withdraw from England squad with back issue
* Sportsmail understands the Man United defender had been carrying the injury
* United will have to manage his fitness after he suffered a recurrence of injury

Manchester United must manage Aaron Wan-Bissaka's fitness over the coming weeks as it emerged he was already carrying the back injury that ruled him out of England contention.

The £60million summer signing withdrew from the squad for the games against Bulgaria and Kosovo on Tuesday due to the back problem and Sportsmail understands the right back was already suffering with the injury going into his debut senior international get-together.

He suffered a recurrence of the problem during Tuesday's session and after being examined by England medical staff it was decided keeping him at St George's Park was not worth the risk.

Manchester United will have to manage Aaron Wan-Bissaka as he was carrying a back problem. The defender had to withdraw from the England squad ahead of their qualifiers this week

Wan-Bissaka has returned to Old Trafford for treatment and will be monitored over the next few days before deciding whether he can play against Leicester on Saturday week.

Wan-Bissaka has had a positive start to his career at Old Trafford and will be desperate to be available for the clash against the Foxes.

Meanwhile, England manager Gareth Southgate is keen to secure Tammy Abraham's international future and will consider an international call-up for the Chelsea star next month.

The Nigerian Football Federation has made another attempt to convince Abraham to play for them but it is understood the striker, who has scored four goals in two games, remains committed to trying to break into Gareth Southgate's senior squad.

Abraham has made two appearances for England under Southgate in friendlies against Germany and Brazil, but he is yet to make his competitive debut which would end Nigeria's hopes of securing him.

The 21-year-old narrowly missed out on the squad for Saturday's game against Bulgaria and next week's visit of Kosovo, but will be firmly on Southgate's radar for the Euro 2020 games Czech Republic and Bulgaria next month.

Diogo Dalot makes visit to 'miracle doctor' in China as Manchester United defender aims to get to the bottom of his long-term injury problems

* Portuguese full back Dalot had travelled to China to address a hip problem
* The 20-year-old spent time with Shanghai SIPG physio Eduardo Santos
* French media had nicknamed Santos the 'miracle doctor' for his past work
* David Luiz quickly recovered from hamstring tear due to Santos' methods

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has spent time in China with a 'miracle doctor' in an attempt to address a persistent hip problem.

The 20-year-old is yet to feature this season and boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had confirmed that Dalot would be ruled out until at least the international break.

But according to AFP, Dalot had spent 10 days with Shanghai SIPG physio Eduardo Santos to help shrug off the injury sooner than expected.

Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has spent time in China to meet a 'miracle doctor'. The 20-year-old is yet to feature for United this season after picking up the hip injury

Dalot is believed to have flown out to meet Santos on August 29 and spent just over a week with the man dubbed a 'miracle doctor'.

The Chinese champions had posted a picture of Dalot at their training ground and confirmed he had spent a short spell with them.

Santos earned his nickname from the French media in 2015, after the Brazilian had helped then Paris Saint-Germain centre back David Luiz recover from a serious hamstring tear in just a matter of days.

Former Tottenham midfielder Mousa Dembele, ex-Manchester City centre-half Eliaquim Mangala and Colombian frontman Radamel Falcao had all sought Santos' treatment in the past.

When questioned about this choice of methods, Santos told AFP: 'What we do is not a miracle. I do science, and of course the results that I have are really, really good.'

The Chinese side had posted a picture of Dalot at their training ground during the ten days. Dalot is believed to have met Santos on August 29 and spent just over a week in Shanghai

Dalot is yet to feature for the Premier League giants this season, but was labelled by former boss Jose Mourinho as 'the best young full back in Europe' after his 2018 switch from Porto.

However, rumours in the summer suggested that he could have been axed after the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka - but it is believed that Solskjaer appreciates the player's versatility.

Dalot has also featured for United in a more advanced role, including the club's infamous Champions League victory in Paris, and could be in contention for a return to top-flight action this month.

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly targeting November return despite being ruled out until Christmas with knee injury

* Eric Bailly underwent knee surgery in this summer's pre season in Shanghai
* Early treatment has gone well and the Ivorian could return in November
* Bailly's return will come as a welcome boost to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
* Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial also have fitness concerns

Manchester United's Eric Bailly is hoping to make a return to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side having missed the start of the season with a knee injury.

The defender picked up the problem during a pre season friendly with Tottenham Hotspur in Shanghai. United boss Solskjaer had ruled out a return for the Ivory Coast international until December at the earliest.

However, according to ESPN, Bailly is targeting an early return to the fold after early treatment is reported to have gone well for the 25-year-old.

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly could return early from knee injury. Bailly has not played competitively since April when he limped off in a draw against Chelsea

The former Villarreal player hasn't completed a competitive appearance for United since April this year owing to a knee injury he suffered in a 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Bailly's return will come as a boost to Solskjaer, who looked to shore up his defence over the summer. Victor Lindelof and new signing Harry Maguire have looked relatively settled in United's central defensive pairing.

Meanwhile, the fitness of Aaron Wan-Bissaka may be of concern to the United boss after his starting right back withdrew from the England squad.

Luke Shaw has been ruled out for a month with a hamstring injury while Anthony Martial missed the Southampton game with a thigh problem.

Marcus Rashford suffers groin injury against West Ham as Manchester United's striker crisis deepens

* Man United's striker crisis deepened after Marcus Rashford suffered groin injury
* The 21-year-old was forced off against West Ham after pulling up in second half
* Rashford's injury leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer without a fit and available striker
* He will have a scan on Monday but Solskjaer expects him to be out for a while

Marcus Rashford's opportunity to stamp his authority as Manchester United's leading striker was cut short on Sunday as he limped off with a groin injury.

The 21-year-old, who was United's only fit senior forward at the start of the day, appeared to be struggling with his fitness in the first half against West Ham and eventually pulled up on the hour mark.

It looked innocuous with Rashford going down after making a run forward and United confirmed on Sunday the striker sustained a groin injury.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was forced to throw on midfielder Jesse Lingard in his place with the United boss without a fit and available striker on his bench.

Anthony Martial is currently out with a thigh problem while Mason Greenwood, who scored in midweek in their Europa League group opener against Astana, was ruled out with tonsillitis.

Rashford's injury further depletes United's attacking ranks, which had already been cut down to the bare bones in the summer following the sales of Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez to Inter Milan.

Rashford received medical treatment from the physio but was unable to continue playing. Rashford's injury leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer facing an injury crisis and without a fit striker

The extent of Rashford's injury will become clearer when he goes for medical scans on the problem on Monday.

Solskjaer revealed the striker is set for a period out on the sidelines but will be boosted by the expected returns of Martial and Greenwood.

After the 2-0 defeat at West Ham, Solskjaer told MUTV: 'We'll do a scan tomorrow to see how badly he's (ashford) injured. I don't know how long he'll be out, I'm not a doctor. But he'll probably be out for a little while.

'Hopefully Mason and Anthony will be back for the Arsenal game and at least one of them for Rochdale.'

Marcus Rashford ruled out of crunch Arsenal clash by groin injury as problems mount for Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

* The striker was forced off in the second-half of Sunday's 2-0 defeat at West Ham
* Solskjaer hopes he can work his way back to fitness ahead of international break
* Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes could be back for trip to AZ Alkmaar next week

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has been ruled out of Monday's Premier League clash against Arsenal.

Rashford suffered a groin injury and was forced off in the second-half of Sunday's 2-0 defeat at West Ham at the London Stadium.

The Red Devils are already without Anthony Martial who is suffering with a thigh injury, while Romelu Lukaku or Alexis Sanchez have been farmed out on loan to Inter Milan.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes the England international can work his way back to fitness ahead of the international break in October.

‘He’s recovering,’ Solskjaer said before United were taken to a penalty shootout by lowly Rochdale after a 1-1 draw in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

‘He’s not very, very bad so we hope to see him before the international break.’

Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes were also missing against Rochdale and also likely to miss the league meeting with Arsenal but they could be in contention for next Thursday’s Europa League tie against AZ Alkmaar.

‘They’re injured,’ Solskjaer added.

‘They haven’t trained the last couple of days unfortunately. Hopefully they can be back for Alkmaar next week, that’s what we’re hoping.’

Injury scare for Manchester United ahead of crunch Liverpool clash as David De Gea limps off during Spain's draw in Sweden

* David de Gea limped out of Spain's Euro 2020 qualifier against Sweden
* The goalkeeper was forced off by a suspected hamstring injury in 60th minute
* Manchester United face Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday

Manchester United face an anxious wait to discover the extent of the injury suffered by David de Gea while playing for Spain on Tuesday night.

The goalkeeper was forced off after he appeared to pull a muscle in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Sweden.

De Gea appeared to suffer the injury while after clearing a backpass on the hour mark.

Goalkeeper David de Gea was forced off by a suspected groin injury on Tuesday night

In an innocuous-looking incident, De Gea immediately grabbed his muscle.

The 28-year-old sat on the ground in his six-yard box before being replaced by Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping the injury is not serious, with a huge game against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Spain coach Robert Moreno said of De Gea's withdrawal: 'He had pain in the groin muscle but he received treatment at half-time and wanted to keep playing. He gave us his word, but in the end he couldn't continue.'

De Gea appeared to suffer the injury while taking a goal kick just after the hour mark

A stoppage-time strike by substitute Rodrigo Moreno cancelled out Marcus Berg's opener for Sweden and gave Spain the draw they needed to qualify for Euro 2020 in a Group F game that finished 1-1 on Tuesday night.

Spain dominated the opening 20 minutes and looked set to easily book their berth in next year's finals but Sweden goalkeeper Robin Olsen pulled off a string of superb saves as his side grew into the game.

Striker Berg put Sweden in front early in the second half after his initial header was saved, as was Emil Forsberg's shot, but Berg nodded home from close range at the second attempt to give his side the lead.

De Gea left the fray injured on the hour mark and, despite plenty of possession, the Spaniards had to wait until stoppage time before Rodrigo finally found a way past Olsen, firing home to send his group-leading side to the finals.

SOLSKJAER'S UPDATE ON UNITED'S INJURIES

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave a brief update on several injured players after our 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

The boss told reporters in his post-match press conference that he hoped a number of first-teamers would return for our upcoming run of fixtures, which begins with a trip to Serbia to play Partizan Belgrade on Thursday.

While David De Gea was passed fit to play against Liverpool, Aaron Wan-Bissaka was welcomed back and Anthony Martial made his long-awaited return as a substitute on Sunday, Solskjaer has a new injury concern after Axel Tuanzebe pulled up with a hip problem in the warm-up.

“I don’t know how Axel is but hopefully Jesse [Lingard] is back soon,&rdsquo; said Ole, when asked how our treatment room was looking.

“Anthony will be able to play more,” he added.

Paul Pogba was again missing from our line-up for the visit of the Merseysiders after failing to recover from an ankle injury, but the manager hinted there could be news on the France midfielder in the coming days.

“We’re going to have a test on Pogba tomorrow and see where he’s at and how long it’ll be until he’s back,” Solskjaer said.

Luke Shaw, who hasn’t played since coming off injured during the Crystal Palace match in August, could join Lingard - who is recovering from a hamstring issue - in returning to the fray.

“Luke is not too long [away],” reported Ole. “So, it’s looking brighter and that’s a big plus as well.”

Phil Jones, who has been missing since the Rochdale game at the end of September, was fit enough to be named as a substitute against Liverpool when Tuanzebe pulled out, but the manager has revealed that Nemanja Matic is facing a spell on the sidelines.

“He’s played on with a little problem and we decided he couldn’t play on any more with that. So I don’t know how long he’ll be out.”

Ole will provide a further update on Wednesday, when he sits down to address the press prior to the Partizan match the following day.

Manchester United star Luke Shaw heads to Dubai after hamstring injury setback with Nemanja Matic joining team-mate for warm weather training

* Luke Shaw is heading to Dubai after setback in recovery from hamstring injury
* The Manchester United star will be joined by injured team-mate Nemanja Matic
* Paul Pogba used Transform Altitude Performance Center's facilities last week
* Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expects Shaw and Matic to return this weekend

Luke Shaw is heading to Dubai to step up his rehabilitation from injury following a setback in his recovery.

The Manchester United left back has been out since August with a hamstring injury in his right leg and was initially expected to be out for six weeks.

He returned to light training as part of his recovery programme but suffered a setback and is expected in Dubai this week to see if he responds better under warm weather training conditions.

Shaw, who has been out since United's defeat by Crystal Palace on August 24, is heading for the Transform Altitude Performance Center in Dubai which is fast becoming the go-to place for Premier League players.

The 24-year-old's injured team-mate Nemanja Matic is also due in Dubai on Tuesday having seen Paul Pogba take advantage of the facilities there last week.

Matic and Shaw are expected back at United at the weekend.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has seen his threadbare squad stretched to the limits with a number of injuries this season which has hindered United's progress.

Luke Shaw is going to Dubai for warm weather training to aid his recovery from injury in August. Nemanja Matic has also had some injury problems and will be joining Shaw in Dubai

'Luke is not too long [away],' said Solskjaer. 'So, it's looking brighter and that's a big plus.' However, on Matic he added: 'He's played on with a little problem and we decided he couldn't play on any more with that. So I don't know how long he'll be out.'

Concerns have been raised among staff by the number of soft tissue injuries suffered by United players this season and Solskjaer last week pointed out that Liverpool went through a similar phase four years ago when Jurgen Klopp attempted to transform their intensity levels in training.

Solskjaer has been eager to upgrade his squad's fitness after studying their drop in performance levels towards the end of the last campaign and is recruiting physio Tim Williamson from Celtic.

United face FK Partizan in the Europa League on Thursday with Axel Tuanzebe a doubt after being ruled out of Sunday's game against Liverpool with a hip injury prior to kick-off.

Paul Pogba was back at Old Trafford on Sunday but is still wearing a protective boot on his right foot. He is due for further scans on Monday to assess his progress.

'We're going to have a test on Pogba tomorrow and see where he's at and how long it'll be until he's back,' Solskjaer said.
