Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev admits the 'unprecedented resources' of British clubs means selling players like Anthony Martial is unavoidable.

The principality club were knocked out of the Champions League play-offs recently, lost 3-0 to Paris St Germain in Ligue 1, and then saw talented forward Martial depart for Manchester United in a world-record fee for a teenager at £36million.

The summer of 2014 saw a similar story involving big-name players, when James Rodriguez was sold to Real Madrid and Radamel Falcao went to United, who have benefited from the Premier League's enormously lucrative TV deals.

With pressure building on the pitch this season, the market dealings have seemingly attracted, by Vasilyev's own admission, a measure of criticism from Monaco's fans.

However, Vasilyev said on the club's website: 'We really wanted to keep (Martial) on the team, but Manchester has made an incredible offer, almost the close of the market, an offer that neither the club nor the player could refuse. That's football.

'(It is) evident that certain clubs - especially the British - have unprecedented resources, and it is hard to resist.'

Martial leaves Monaco with 70 appearances and 15 goals to his name, with Vasilyev adding: 'Of course I'd like to keep our players for longer but we must be realistic about the power of these clubs.

'The operations of James Rodriguez and Anthony Martial are the two biggest transfers of the French championship. Our challenge is to remain competitive athletically and have confidence in the decisions we have taken.'

Monaco were unable to make headway into the Champions League this season after Valencia knocked them out, meaning they will play in the Europa League.

Having finished third in the 2014-15 league, Monaco's start to the current Ligue 1 campaign would suggest further struggles - they have just one win from four games - especially with Martial's exit.

But Vasilyev feels further sales will have to be made if Monaco are to build their financial base towards silverware, saying: 'Our revenue has increased, but we must be realistic - (we are) not yet up to a club that wants to play the European Cup.

'Here's one reason why we need to sell players, this allows us to maintain a budget that face our sporting ambitions. When we are financially stronger and have more income, it will be easier to reject some important deals.'

The striker is married to childhood sweetheart Samantha and the couple have an infant daughter named Toto. They are currently expecting their second child.

Martial's transfer fee, which could rise to £58m with bonuses that include him being named European Footballer of the Year, made him the most expensive teenager in history.

Mrs Martial posted a pictured of her husband with a Manchester United shirt on Instagram, saying: 'A new life begins in England ... we will never forget Monaco ... thank you all for your support.'

She has already been making WAG connections in England, within hours of flying to the UK.

Mrs Martial was told to 'step on it' by Aston Villa midfielder Jordan Veretout's partner on Instagram.

The United star's wife replied saying she had already arrived and posted a laughing emoji, along with two umbrellas.

The Welshman will now be coaching Martial, as he assistant manager at Old Trafford.

Martial made three appearances in Ligue 1 for Lyon and 49 for Monaco, scoring 11 goals.

His fee has been met with astonishment in France but Louis van Gaal recognises something in the starlet who was recently called up by his national team. Time will tell if it was money well spent.

Anthony Martial is training with France's senior side for the first time this week. After checking his new Bleus shirt for size, he has the Manchester United No 9 waiting for him. Still only 19, he ought to be toasted across France by those brimming with national pride and optimism for his stellar journey ahead – but some are confused.

The shocking transfer fee, of roughly €79million (£58m), has left some French outlets in disbelief and disillusion.

France Info, part of the country's public service Radio France, is still shaking its head. It said the 'amazing and even delusional' sum for a player 'certainly talented, but little more than promising' is unbelievable.

France accepts Premier League clubs are flushed with cash, to a much greater and more liberating extent than the teams in Ligue 1. Clearly, the newspaper accepts this is easier said than done. They've referenced Christophe Dugarry's nightmare season under the Dutch manager in 1997-98 at Barcelona, when the Frenchman saw him as 'foul, pedantic... I used to leave training with tears in my eyes'.

Their article pay off is simply: 'Anthony Martial has been warned.'

But ultimately, it's money which talks loudest. Laurent Davenas, former president of the FFF's ethics council, has suggested – as most of us have concluded - the fee shows football's nothing but a business.

'You can compare this to Zidane, but his name was sold on 100,000 shirts at Real Madrid in one year,' he said.

Gilles Dumas, from sports marketing agency Sportslab, said United's risk-taking is 'amazing', but welcomed the fact it was on a young, relatively unproven talent.

'Putting as much money on a young player is to hope for a huge return, and that's extremely important [for a player]. English TV rights have exploded, so therefore the financial means of English clubs are not disproportionate.'

For Club Omnisports des Ulis, the amateur side where Martial began his career, they're once again on the map. Both Thierry Henry and Patrice Evra were also shaped at Les Ulis, and the seventh-tier club are set to pocket €600,000 (£440, 955) from the sale. Since it totals roughly three-times their typical annual budget, it's certainly a good news story. And like most, virtually smothered.

Paris - Kepindahan Anthony Martial dari AS Monaco ke Manchester United ikut menguntungkan CO Les Ulis, sebuah klub amatir di Prancis. Les Ulis kecipratan dana transfer dalam jumlah yang sangat besar bagi mereka.

Nilai transfer Martial kabarnya mencapai 36 juta poundsterling (sekitar Rp 785,6 miliar). Angka tersebut menjadikan penyerang berusia 19 tahun itu sebagai pemain muda termahal sepanjang sejarah.

Tak semua uang hasil penjualan Martial masuk ke kantong Monaco. Ada sebagian kecil yang menjadi hak Les Ulis yang merupakan klub pertama Martial.

Mengikuti aturan FIFA 'Training and Solidarity Mechanism', Les Ulis berhak mendapatkan bagian sebagai balasan atas jasa mereka dalam melatih dan mendidik Martial.

'Training and Solidarity Mechanism' berlaku saat pemain berusia 12-23 tahun. Sementara itu, Martial menimba ilmu di Les Ulis sejak 2001 dan meninggalkan klub tersebut pada 2009 saat usianya baru 14 tahun. Dia selanjutnya bergabung dengan Lyon.

Les Ulis akan menerima kompensasi atas pelatihan Martial selama tiga tahun, yang berjumlah 0,75 persen dari nilai transfer si pemain ke MU. Jika dihitung-hitung, nilai kompensasi itu mencapai 270 ribu poundsterling atau sekitar Rp 5,8 miliar. Bagi Les Ulis, uang sebesar itu ternyata sangat berarti.

"Itu akan menutupi anggaran kami untuk empat atau lima tahun," ujar pelatih Les Ulis, Mamadou Niakate, seperti dikutip Daily Mail.

"Kami selalu kesulitan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan. Uang ini akan membantu kami mengamankan pekerjaan yang ada dan memperbarui peralatan kami. Di sekolah sepakbola, kami memakai seragam tanding dan seragam latihan yang sama selama empat tahun terakhir," kata Niakate.

Les Ulis, klub yang berbasis di barat daya Paris dan berkompetisi di divisi enam Liga Prancis, juga merupakan tempat Thierry Henry dan Patrice Evra memulai kariernya. Mereka sebelumnya juga pernah kecipratan dana transfer saat Evra berganti klub.

"Thierry baru berusia 11 tahun saat dia pergi. Jadi, kami tidak mendapatkan apa-apa karena mekanisme solidaritas tidak berlaku jika si pemain meninggalkan klub sebelum ulang tahun ke-12-nya," jelas Niakate.

"Namun, dia kemudian membuatkan sebuah lapangan artifisial untuk klub," tambahnya.

"Untuk Evra, kami menerima sekitar 38 ribu euro. Namun, ini bukan cuma soal uang. Kepuasan utama kami adalah seseorang dari Les Ulis bisa bergabung dengan klub bergengsi seperti Manchester United," kata Niakate.

dari sekian banyak berita, gw sih lebih percaya bahwa 36jt pound itu ga tunai alias dicicil/ada add ons-nya. yang pernah gw liat sih uang tunainya sekitar 22jt pound sisanya add ons smpe ke angka 36jt pound, lalu bs bertambah lagi ke angka 58jt pound.

Jarang ada sih pemain muda dengan bandrol fantastis bisa langsung onfire & bebas dari tekanan apalagi di klub sebesar United, bahkan Falcao & Di Maria ga bisa hadapi tekanan itu. Januzaj, Perreira, McNair & Willson juga yang digadang sbg wonderkid the next yang di next-kan malah masih struggle hingga sekarang. Bukan pesimis namun hanya melihat pengalaman yang sudah- sudah, syukur kalau setidaknya bisa seperti Shaw sekarang, tapi itu di musim kedua juga.
