Re: [LC] Manchester United vs Liverpool
Angry Rooney urges United to dish out Capital punishment against rivals Liverpool
Wayne Rooney has criticised Manchester United’s sloppy defending in the weekend hammering at neighbours City and called on his team-mates to put things right against Liverpool in the Capital One Cup. The centre forward was the only United player to come out of Sunday’s game with any credit, scoring his team’s late consolation in their 4-1 defeat at the Etihad Stadium. Now Rooney has spoken passionately about one of the worst United defeats of recent times. He said: ‘It is not good enough. We know we have to improve on that and stop giving these sloppy goals away and try to capitalise on some of our good play, which I thought there was even if it was too late in the game. Frustration: Rooney has criticised the sloppy defending by his United team-mates ‘Fair enough, City deserved the victory. We gave sloppy goals away. As I said before, it is not good enough. ‘It is nice to score but it means nothing. It is a bad day for us but we have another big game against Liverpool on Wednesday. We will forget about this now and try to move on in that one. It is the ideal game. Any game against Liverpool is a big game, whether it is a friendly or Capital One Cup or Premier League. It is still massive.’ Consolation: Rooney scored United's sole goal in the 4-1 derby defeat from a free kick Captain Nemanja Vidic has also vowed that United will recover against Liverpool, even though he and fellow central defender Rio Ferdinand are expected to be rested for the game. Vidic said: ‘The most important thing that the new manager and the old manager said was that you have to bounce back and win the next game. ‘It hurts. You don’t want to lose derby games in this way and trust me no-one will want to remember this.’ United’s frustration boiled over at half-time at City as player-coach Ryan Giggs confronted fourth official Mike Oliver and told him: ‘Man up and do your job.’ It is understood United were upset at some of City’s tackling but they will now face Oliver again on Saturday as the official is set to referee their Barclays Premier League game at home to West Bromwich. Across town, meanwhile, Manuel Pellegrini’s team are reflecting on the second drubbing of United in two years. This result followed on from their 6-1 win at Old Trafford in October 2011. Defender Pablo Zabaleta admitted last night that thoughts of another six-goal tally entered City’s minds when the score stood at 3-0 at the weekend and suggested that Rooney’s pre-match assertion that games against Liverpool are still bigger motivated them. Zabaleta said: ‘When we scored the third goal, everybody thought that it could be another chance to do it. Just for a moment I thought about the game we won 6-1. But after we scored the fourth goal we lost a bit of intensity. ‘This result has helped the manager, his staff and all the new players. Winning like that gives you confidence. It has helped the team to play much better collectively than we have done. Playing in the way we did against United, we have a lot of chance to fight for the title. ‘I saw Rooney. He was one of their main players. He tried more than anyone else in the Manchester United team. Probably it proves this game is just as important to him and United as Liverpool.’ City’s star man on Sunday was arguably Samir Nasri, the player castigated last season for ducking out of the way of a Robin van Persie free-kick that gave United a 3-2 win at the Etihad. Nasri said: ‘This was a big statement. We have sent a message to our rivals. It’s a different feeling from last year and a different feeling for me as well. Last year I was involved in the third goal in a bad way, so this was a little revenge.’ Code:

Re: [LC] Manchester United vs Liverpool
De Gea Valencia ferdinand vidic evra/buttner Zaha carrirck/cleverley fellaini nani Rooney RVP/Chicarito Seandainya RVP masih belum fit ane lebih suka liat hernandez atau kagawa yg main. Di bandingkan wellbeck. Coba maenin nani n zaha deh... Truss back kanan valencia aja. Smalling vs city terlihat begitu kesulitan apalagi kalau berduel dgn winger lawan yg punya kecepatan kyk nasri. |

Re: [LC] Manchester United vs Liverpool
Manchester United: How the Team Should Line Up Against Liverpool
Sunday's defeat at at the Etihad was a stark reminder of just how difficult things will be for David Moyes and his side in these seasons immediately following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson. Fortunately or not, as the case may be, Manchester United can get right back on the horse this Wednesday with a Capital One Cup clash at Old Trafford against Liverpool. Although the tournament is hardly a major priority for either club, a reaction to Sunday's drubbing is essential. Ferguson's sides always responded well to adversity, time will tell how his successor fares. Liverpool are coming off the back of their first defeat of the season and Brendan Rodgers will also be looking for a response from his team. Luis Suarez is likely to figure for the first time this season, having finally completed his 10-match ban for biting. Ferguson spearheaded the trend of blooding youngsters in the League Cup, even prompting criticism in parliament after his young side lost 3-0 at home to York in 1995. Nowadays, such a practice is commonplace among the biggest teams in the country, but Moyes would be wise to field a stronger team than he might otherwise have considered. A win is a must against one of United's fiercest rivals, whatever the status of the competition. Suarez will certainly be up for the occasion, and the home side ought to be, too. Saturday's home game against West Brom, though by no means a foregone conclusion, is a game the champions would expect to win. For this reason, Moyes can afford to field a stronger lineup than if the following fixture was a difficult away game. There is the possibility that Ben Amos will start in goal, but it's usually best to let goalkeepers get a run of games under their belt early in the season, so, in all like likelihood, it will be David De Gea. Neither of the veteran centre-backs should start a Capital One Cup match. In place of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic, expect the likes of Jonny Evans and Chris Smalling in the centre of defence. Young players with a point to prove are likely to be an asset in a game such as this. Patrice Evra plays almost every game, so it is vital he be rested, presumably replaced by Alexander Büttner at left-back. On the right, there is a chance we might see Fabio, fresh from a year on loan at QPR. In midfield, perhaps we will see Ryan Giggs. He has rarely featured this season, and his experience could prove useful in what is likely to be an extremely young side. With any luck, Shinji Kagawa will also figure. The fans are desperate to see the Japanese midfielder given a run of games, and this seems an ideal opportunity to impress. After Ashley Young's dreadful performance on the weekend, it would be refreshing to see Wilfried Zaha start again at Liverpool, or even Nani, hopefully revitalised from the signing of a new contract. Tom Cleverley must also be in with a chance, having only played 40 minutes against Manchester City. Up front, there seems little doubt that Javier Hernandez will start given his lack of playing time so far this term, but Moyes would be sensible to field Wayne Rooney too. He's been in fine form in recent weeks, and he tends to relish battles with Liverpool. Wednesday's game is by no means one of the season's biggest matches, but timing is everything and United desperately need a win. Hopefully Moyes sees it the same way. Code:

Sangat berharap tradisi COC jadi ajang/ kesempatan pemain lapis dua & muda tetap terjaga walau lawannya Pool sekalipun.

Re: [LC] Manchester United vs Liverpool
Manchester United vs. Liverpool: Key Battles to Watch in Capital One Cup Clash
This week’s League Cup meeting between Manchester United and Liverpool promises to drudge up some of the fiercest bad blood two Premier League clubs have ever shared. With David Moyes’ Red Devils reign still under severe scrutiny and Brendan Rodgers’ team having already beat United once this season, this is the closest the local rivals have been for a number of years. Looking ahead to the pair’s Wednesday night fixture, read on to find out which individual struggles might make the difference. All statistics courtesy of Squawka. Marouane Fellaini vs. Steven Gerrard With Philippe Coutinho out with a shoulder injury, there’s more of a responsibility with Steven Gerrard to perform a more offensively orientated role against United. Over the weekend, Iago Aspas did his best to plug the hole in behind Daniel Sturridge at times but was largely unsuccessful and just didn’t provide the same creative impetus. If Gerrard is to move up the pitch slightly, the Red Devils will need an equally destructive force to ensure the Anfield legend’s influence is limited. Enter Marouane Fellaini. This is the kind of occasion the towering Belgian was brought to Old Trafford for in the first place, and while that didn’t quite go to plan against Manchester City last weekend, the 4-1 drubbing may have been exactly what United needed. Fellaini did manage to win all tackles and headed duels attempted in the derby defeat, but he will be coming up against one of the English top tier’s most successful servants during midweek. Nemanja Vidic vs. Daniel Sturridge The brightest light in Liverpool’s season so far has undoubtedly been Daniel Sturridge, who has shone in Luis Suarez's absence. With no guarantee that the Uruguayan will start after coming back from his 10-match suspension, Sturridge should continue to deputise up top for the visitors. If that’s the case, it will be up to Nemanja Vidic to ensure that the Englishman’s aerial presence is minimal and that Liverpool is forced to play on the floor. If Coutinho’s absence in attacking midfield is made clear and Liverpool lack the finishing touch up front, Manchester United can consider their opponent’s attacking threat close to nullified. The 1-0 loss to Southampton was the first time this Premier League season that Sturridge had failed to hit the back of the net, and it’s Vidic’s duty to see that trend continue. Nani vs. Kolo Toure Having signed a five-year contract extension at the Theatre of Dreams, Nani certainly would appear to be in David Moyes' long-term plans. The Portuguese winger could come back into the fray after Ashley Young completed just 53 percent of his passes in the loss to Manchester City and was largely unnoticeable, or at least not noticeable in a good way. Nani has played just 28 minutes of Premier League football this term but could have an easy task on his hands this week; that’s if Kolo Toure is the one lined up opposite him. The former Arsenal and Manchester City stalwart isn’t long back from injury and should fill in for the injured Glen Johnson at right-back. If that does prove to be the case, Nani can expect to use speed and direct dribbling very much to his advantage against the Ivorian bruiser. Code:
