The latest instalment of the phenomenally successful Football Manager franchise is less than a month away and it is jam-packed with exciting new features.

Football Manager 2017, released on November 4, will be the 13th instalment of Sports Interactive's best-selling football management simulation game.

And the franchise are pulling out all the stops to make this the most immersive and realistic version of the award-winning series so far.

The new edition of best-selling franchise Football Manager will be released on November 4

Director Miles Jacobson promises new animations, improved AI decision-making and enhanced visuals in 'not just the best looking, but most intelligent we've ever made'.

The latest instalment includes a new camera angle, low down behind the goal and close-up so you can follow the goal-mouth action easily.

Ball trajectory and team shape are easier to follow, to help you out if you want to make in-game changes.

The 3D pitch also includes graphic improvements, from lighting and shadows to the grass receiving a polish.

There are more than 1,500 new motion capture elements, with players moving more fluidly around the pitch.

The latest rule updates have been added, with referees' vanishing spray getting its first outing and the new one-player kick-offs included.

Away from the pitch, the game is keeping up with the trends of the modern game with a new dedicated social feed tab.

Players can keep abreast of fan opinions and what the media and other clubs are saying on the hot topics, and about your own performance.

Dealing with transfers and contracts is more authentic with the addition of pre-contract conversations for players. And you have the chance to sell your club to a new player.

A version of your face can now be added directly to the game by loading a picture of yourself

Outline your vision, but remember that the promises you make you will be expected to keep, with players and agents holding more power in the transfer market than ever before.

The managerial avatar, a new feature for FM 2016, has been improved. Your face can now be added directly to the game by loading a picture with the aid of some fancy technology.

Scouting new talent has never been easier. You can now receive highlights packages of a transfer target in action and you can access a more detailed breakdown of their strengths and weaknesses.

Football Manager 2017 Review: Sports Interactive have produced the best version of the cult game in years

* Sportsmail have spent 137 hours on the new Football Manager beta game
* The full version of the new game is released on November 4
* FM17 is a vintage game that will enthuse regulars and a new generation

We’ve all been there. You’re on a winning run, five, six games in a row without dropping a point. But you know, sooner or later, you’ve got to change things, lest injuries strike or opposing managers work out your tactical plans.

Do you stick with what you know until it goes wrong? Or make that tactical tweak ahead of time at the risk of unbalancing a winning formula?

So it must be for Football Manager creators Sports Interactive. How do you improve on a game year in year out, when the franchise is already so universally popular?

Sportsmail's Jonny Singer has invested 137 hours into the Football Manager Beta so that you don't have to

Make too many changes and you’re in danger of killing the golden goose, of making a game which is already complex that bit too much so, and alienating your userbase.

But leave it alone and there are accusations of going stale, of complacency, of milking your fans for money.

There is, of course, a balance. Keep what is good, but freshen things up. It’s an exceptionally tough balance to strike, but it can be done.

And this year, the men and women at Football Manager have done it.

I’ll freely admit that I wasn’t a big fan of Football Manager 2016. Too many of the changes felt cosmetic, the truly innovative features were hidden, and it was, in many ways, just too difficult to use.

Like any edition of FM, it was still much better than its rivals, but it was far from a vintage year – so far, in fact, that I barely played it after Christmas, returning to the much more satisfying 2015.

The new 'behind goal low' camera is ideal for replays on the new version of the game

Tactics are more responsive than ever, giving you more control and more options

This year it’s different. I was barely 10 hours into a my first save on the Beta version – and yes, it is only a Beta at this point, with the full game and all its updates coming on November 4 – when I sensed, for the first time, that this year’s game was going to be a classic.

From aesthetics to gameplay, it all just feels right. This might just be the best iteration of Football Manager this decade.

What’s so good? Well let’s start with the big fixes.

Last year saw the introduction of avatars, so you could see yourself in the game. As I wrote at the time, this was, in my view, a mistake.

It’s still not a feature I like, but, the introduction of photo-recognition technology means that it is now a mistake that need only occupy you for about two minutes, once, rather than taking up a substantial part of your life.

Much more important is the tweak to the inbox system. With the game getting more and more complicated, there have been times, in recent editions, that Football Manager felt too much like having a second job. A fun one, sure, but one which required a fair bit of admin, and had too many boring days.

Simplified scouting reports are now much clearer straight in your inbox

Suddenly, this year, while there are more clever features than ever, they are all much more accessible, with almost everything you need brought directly to your attention by a helpful assistant.

It’s a subtle tweak to the game that makes a huge difference, and veteran players will find themselves able to do much more, much more quickly, without sacrificing attention to detail.

Nowhere is this more apparent than with the introduction of data scientists. The new role (part of a backroom staff revamp that is generally excellent) is pretty basic, and there is no evidence yet that who you appoint matters at all.

But the advantage of having one is that before every fixture all that clever statistical data that was introduced last year but was far too complicated for the average user to find useful, is delivered, in bitesize chunks, to your inbox. No more need to go looking for it – it comes to you.

The introduction of data anaylists means comprehensive stats and graphics, without having to spend time searching around the game

The tweaks to the match engine, and this greater accessibility of statistical data like pitch maps and touch analysis, means you feel like you have more control over the result than in any previous year. You can see your team instructions happening out on the pitch more than ever – whether they produce results or not.

That alone makes this year’s game immensely playable, but there plenty of other good new features, including the social feed, which gives you an insight into fan and media thinking.

In truth, this feature – in the Beta at least – is a little half baked. The same items appear far too often, with every injury greeted with the same three messages.

Your striker pulls his hamstring? One fan thinks he’s too soft. Your goalkeeper breaks his leg? One fan thinks he’s too soft. Your left back loses an eyeball? Yep, there’s a fan who thinks he’s too soft.

In fact, the social feed feels a little bit like press conferences when they were first introduced – a good idea, but getting boring very quickly. But playing the press has become part of the game, and I’m sure social media will grow too. It’s a great thing to have, even if it’s far from perfect.

As ever, there is the fact that, despite SI’s insistence that the graphics in the match engine are much improved, they are still dreadful at times.

The social feed has the makings of a good feature, but is a little repetitive for now

Goalkeepers move like Subbuteo figures, the referees give penalties from a position in the centre-circle, and two-footed tackles are still comically animated.

But that’s not really what the game is about (in fact a large part of me still wishes the games were still only available in 2D pitch mode) and anyway, there are some steps in the right direction, including the new behind the goal low camera which is a must for goal replays.

As with any Football Manager game, there are too many new features to discuss them all, but if you like Fantasy Draft as an idea, and don’t have 30 mates available to join you every night, the AI gamers are a really good addition.

Every FM player, like ever football manager in real life, does things in their own, unique way, so there’s a chance that some will prefer last year’s game, or another old version, to this.

But, to my mind, this is the best Football Manager Sports Interactive have made in years, a vintage game that will enthuse regulars and bring in a new generation of fanatics.

Inside Football Manager: From the managers using it to train to the Porto employee who got his big break thanks to the game... Sportsmail speaks to one of FM2017's creators

* Sportsmail spoke to Sports Interactive's Tom Davidson about FM 2017
* He spoke about his favourite innovations on the new edition of the game
* Davidson revealed that the company work with the LMA for training

Speak to the wrong person and Football Manager will conjure up a certain image in their minds. It's a video game and has all the associations that come with that. The dark room, the bright screen and the unfortunate person who has become addicted to it.

That is not the case. Sports Interactive's constantly evolving magnum opus has moved beyond computer screens and into the real world. Clubs trust it as an initial source of information when it comes to signings. Andre Villas Boas, famously, loved the game before he became part of the database. Every year a new story comes out about a job that has been secured in football with Football Manager playing at least a small part in the recruitment process.

The newest edition of the game is, as the creators would inevitably claim, the best edition yet. Sportsmail sat down with Tom Davidson of Sports Interactive to discuss why that is the case. Immediately it was obvious that he was both an enthusiastic maker and enthusiastic player.

Sports Interactive's Tom Davidson spoke to Sportsmail about the new edition of the game

Davidson discussed his preferred tactics on the new edition and how he has adapted

As much as Football Manager has began to inform football, football still informs the game, and every season it tends to follow the trends seen around the world. He explains some of those changes.

'We looked at the top five European leagues and looked at every result. The big thing now is that possession does not win you matches, it's all about having counter-attacking and what they call penetrative movement into the final third,' he said.

'That's been replicated in the game as well. The AI is more adept at dealing with you going out attacking, they are going to hit you on the counter more easily than before.'

Think Leicester last season or Jurgen Klopp's table-topping Liverpool side. In fact, Davidson himself has taken inspiration from the German: 'I tried to replicate Klopp's style of play, fluidity, players dropping and moving. Lots of closing down. Playing very narrow as well. Getting the wing-backs to bomb forward. It's just goals. I can't put my finger on it. It doesn't quite work - we either win, or last night in the Europa League I got absolutely battered.'

The nature of how people play Football Manager has followed real world trends

Not that he sticks rigidly to that idea. He continued: 'As real football's moved on, even the best teams change. Guardiola's Man City… the way they play against Barcelona in Europe is completely different to the way they play against Southampton in the league. They are tweaking it based on the opposition.

'Although they have a week of real life time to prepare for a game, you have the same tools as them - scouts, data analysts, backroom advice. Use it.'

The game has changed in other ways. The idea of an Alex Ferguson coming into a real life club and staying for 20 years seems like it belongs in the realms of fantasy. Football Manager has tried to adapt to reflect that: 'In terms of the way the game works, we've seen a trend. It's always been set up to enable you to (move around) - you're not tied into one club, you have every feature set available to you no matter the length of reign.

'Once people get beyond their first three or four seasons, when you get newgens (players the game generates) coming through - once they have done that once, they want to do it again because it gives you a whole new challenge. It gives you a whole new perspective. We can see, to an extent, how people play the game and you can see a lot more hopping around.'

Davidson highlighted some of his favourite challenges - including Mario Balotelli's Nice

For Pep Guardiola or Klopp it was about the new challenge and the idea of a new country. Even the most experienced Football Manager player can take inspiration from a new environment.

Picking where to move can often be a problem, however, and Davidson has some advice as to where it might be best to manage next.

'Nice is a great challenge this year. They're doing so well in Ligue 1 but they've got characters like Balotelli, Dante's there. You've got players who are notoriously difficult to manage. You've not only got the challenge of trying to get the best out of them, but also the challenge of expectations and hitting the same level you're doing in real life,' he said.

'There are some really big teams in Europe's second divisions. There's Leganes in La Liga, Eibar as well who are defying expectations. There's Elche who were cruelly relegated. Take revenge - there's always a story there. Do a bit of research and look at their history and what appeals to you.'

He also highlighted the fact that the LMA will use the game to train managers and other staff

It's no longer a mystery that clubs use the data to begin recruitment processes or use it to analyse their own talents, but there are fascinating alternative uses of the game within the game.

Davidson spoke about the LMA using Football Manager as a 'Pass Plus' to follow up the formal UEFA qualifications. He recalled: 'When we say, "show us what you can do", they are confused as to how the game will work. When we take control and they just tell us what they want, they play it in a completely different way to the way you or I would play.

'A League Two club's head of recruitment, the first thing he did was say, "Defender? He has to be 6 foot 2." I went, "why's that?". He said in that league you have to win headers.

Davidson spoke about his favourite stories of clubs hiring players of the new game

'That will then determine how lower league clubs (in the game) will look at players. If you look at lower league clubs and the conference, you might see teams who may want to sign a talented left winger who is 5 foot 6 but their priority is to get some physical presence at the back.'

And when the opposite occurs, when a fan of Football Manager becomes employed by a club, it's no longer a huge surprise. Davidson has his own favourite story: 'We had one guy who was our researcher for Porto. He was just hanging around again, training ground, stadium, reserve matches, youth team matches… every week of the year.

'Eventually they were like "what are you doing, why are you always here?"

'He told them he was researching for Football Manager, built up a relationship and eventually he was telling people who they should sign, who fits into the team, what role they should play, who should get the armband. Eventually they offered him a job as a scout. That's one of the biggest clubs in Europe.'

While he did not reveal which players to sign, he did discuss how to approach the market

Our conversation concluded with the question on everyone's lips - which young players should be signed? Sports Interactive have one rule - don't answer that question. It ruins the fun of the game, as far as they are concerned. But Tom himself has a word or two of advice: 'A lot of the old guard - wonderkids from two or three years ago - they're not old, they're still good.

'It's about using your real world knowledge.

'The players you see breaking through in real world football, have a look in the game.

'It's a lot easier to find them (than before). We almost don't need to tell you where they are.'

Edan! Mereka Main Football Manager Sampai Ratusan Musim
Muhamad Imron Rosyadi - detikInet

Rekor Terlama Main Football Manager: 221 Musim!
Muhamad Imron Rosyadi - detikInet

Bersama Lech Poznan, ia berhasil merengkuh 207 trofi Polish Ekstraklasa (kompetisi tertinggi sepakbola Polandia), 161 kali juara Polish Cup, 184 piala Polish Super Cup, 45 gelar Champions League, 34 trofi European Super Cup, serta 42 kali menjuarai World Club Championship.

World Team of The Year. Itu merupakan pencapaian yang besar," katanya menambahkan. (fyk/rou)
