[10/11] FA Cup
setelah 2 hari lalu FCUM berhasil menang 3-2
partay berikutnya nih _______________________________ Dover and Tamworth secure upsets ESPN - November 6, 2010 Dover caused the upset of the day in the FA Cup as they dumped former manager Andy Hessenthaler's Gillingham out in the Kent derby. Blue Square South side Dover clinched a 2-0 win at Priestfield, with Adam Birchall scoring the opener and then having a hand in the second as Luke I'Anson pounced from close range before the Gills had John Nutter sent off. Tamworth also knocked out League Two opposition with a 2-1 victory at home to Crewe. Alex Rodman's first-half strike and Danny Thomas' stunner put them in control before Ashley Westwood's late consolation. Accrington Stanley pulled off a major coup by dumping Oldham Athletic out of the FA Cup at the first-round stage with a thrilling 3-2 victory at the Crown Ground. Stanley, who are currently a lowly 18th in League Two, raced into a 3-0 lead before the visitors launched a late fightback. Dale Stephens' 75th minute penalty made for a nail-biting finale but Stanley repelled some desperate, last-ditch attacks to claim a morale-boosting victory. The Latics' defeat means they have suffered first-round exits in all three knockout competitions for the second consecutive campaign. There were to be no FA Cup heroics for Kent League side Hythe Town as they were cut down to size by an impressive Hereford. Richard Rose put the League Two outfit ahead after only seven minutes, driving into the bottom left corner from just inside the area. Prior to the match, Scott Porter was adamant his side could cause a major upset but, despite having a fully-fit squad to choose from, he could only watch as their opponents ran them ragged. Robert Purdie put Hereford 2-0 up from a similar position following good work by Tyler Weir. Gary Micklesborough gave the visitors hope by pulling a goal back in the 26th minute but their respite was short-lived as Mathieu Manset finished off a fine move with a glorious finish to put them two goals to the good. A header from Manset made it 4-1 before half-time and there was simply no way back for the minnows. Swindon Supermarine edged past a gritty Eastwood Town side by a 2-1 scoreline to book their place in the next round. Entering the game unbeaten in six in all competitions, Swindon made a fast start and were 2-0 up inside half an hour. Ashan Holgate coolly slotted home from close range to settle any nerves and Ben Wells fired low into the corner to double the lead. Lee Stevenson gave the visitors hope just after half-time but Supermarine stood firm to throw their name into the hat for the second round. Barnet deservedly ground out a goalless draw with Charlton to earn a financially rewarding replay. Charlton were widely expected to thrash their Football League opponents but Barnet, who came into the match on the back of a dreadful run of form, rose to the occasion to thwart the League One club. In the day's late kick-off, Cambridge United played out a 0-0 draw with League One side Huddersfield to set up a replay at the Galpharm Stadium.

Re: [10/11] FA Cup
United drawn against Liverpool
ESPNsoccernet - November 28, 2010 Manchester United have been drawn against Liverpool in the FA Cup. They will meet at Old Trafford in the undoubted tie of the third round. The teams have met twice in the competition since Eric Cantona's late winner decided the final in 1996. United won 2-1 in the fourth round in their Treble-winning season of 1999, and Liverpool won 1-0 in the fifth round at Anfield in 2006 before going on to lift the trophy. Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson said: "I think it will be a good game and it is one we will look forward to. In many ways it is a shame to see two Barclays Premier League teams face each other so early on in the competition, but it will be a difficult game for them as well as for us." Meanwhile, Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson will be given the chance to face former club Manchester City at the Walkers Stadium, while Arsenal host Championship side Leeds, who secured a memorable upset at Old Trafford in the third round last season. Holders Chelsea have a home tie against Roy Keane's Ipswich, while Tottenham will play either Charlton or Luton. Stevenage play Newcastle in a repeat of the famous fourth round clash of 1998. The winners of the replay between FC United and Brighton at Gigg Lane will be rewarded with a home tie against Portsmouth, while minnows Dover travel to League One side Huddersfield. Conference National team York have an away day at Bolton. The ties will be played on January 8 and 9. Quote:
