Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd
Arsenal have publicly expressed an interest in signing Schwarzer this summer and the goalkeeper has gone as far as submitting a transfer request at Craven Cottage
ESPN.SOCCERNET.

Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd
Fulham (Possible, 4-4-1-1): Schwarzer; Pantsil, Hangeland, Hughes, Konchesky; Davies, Etuhu, Murphy, Duff; Gera; Zamora.
Manchester United (Possible, 4-4-2): Van der Sar; O’Shea, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Scholes, Fletcher, Nani; Rooney, Berbatov. Referee: Peter Walton. Matches: 27. R: 4.Y: 67. Tale of the game Mark Hughes, the former Manchester United striker, makes his home bow as Fulham manager following last week’s 0-0 draw at Bolton. As Manchester City manager, Hughes faced United three times and lost all three games. Last season, Fulham recorded one of the most surprising results of the campaign when they won this fixture 3-0 with goals from Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora and Damien Duff. That was their second successive home win over United. Fulham test Mark Schwarzer, who missed the draw at Bolton with a back injury. Left-back Paul Konchesky, absent at the Reebok Stadium, could also return. United are still without Rio Ferdinand, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves but could decide to include Michael Owen, left out of the squad that beat Newcastle 3-0. Ji-Sung Park and Fabio da Silva, could also be involved. Last season: Fulham 3 United 0, United 3 Fulham 0

Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd
awal musim...ga perlu menang dengan cara Chelsea kemarin...sampai 6 - 0 lawan WBA...
yang penting permainan meningkat terus sampai Desember...Januari-Mei tinggal mempertahankan performa... kemarin musim sudah diawali dengan baik...penguasaan bola sempat mencapai 70%...dan 2 gol tercipta...mudah2an penampilan tim terus meningkat... ayo Berbatov buat gol lagi...mudah2an Rooney juga... |

Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd
20/08/2010 08:09 - ManUtd.com, James Tuck
Match Pack: Fulham After a comfortable if unspectacular opening-day win over Newcastle, a tricky test awaits United in west London this weekend… Form guide Sir Alex will be satisfied with the 3-0 win over Newcastle at Old Trafford on Monday, even though he felt his side should have scored more. Fulham’s league season began with a low-key goalless draw at Bolton, where they had stand-in goalkeeper David Stockdale to thank for their point. But the Cottagers are a different proposition at home and United have lost this fixture for the last two seasons, without scoring a goal. Ins and outs Goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer and defender Paul Konchesky, who both missed the trip to the Reebok Stadium, are rated doubtful for Sunday’s game. Diomansy Kamara, Andrew Johnson and new signing Philippe Senderos are long-term absentees, but Belgium international Moussa Dembele arrived this week and could be plunged straight into action. United are still without long-term knee victims Rio Ferdinand, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves, while Patrice Evra should be fit despite hobbling off in the dying stages of the Newcastle win. Paul Scholes gave a masterclass against the Magpies but may not start his second game in a week, and it’ll be interesting to see whether Sir Alex is tempted to give Chicharito a first league start. Star man You’d have to say it’s a toss-up between striker Bobby Zamora, whose pace and movement provide a different dimension to Fulham’s attack, and cultured USA international midfielder Clint Dempsey. Zamora was Fulham’s top scorer last season with 19 goals, including one in the 3-0 win over United in this fixture in December. Manager It’s good to see Mark Hughes back in the managerial big-time following his ignominious exit from Manchester City last season. But the former Old Trafford favourite faces a tough task to emulate the achievements of his predecessor Roy Hodgson, who led the Cottagers to seventh place in the table two years ago and last year's Europa League final. Referee Northamptonshire’s Peter Walton is the man in the middle on Sunday. He refereed United five times last season – Wolves (h) in the Carling Cup, West Ham (a), Aston Villa (a), Wolves (a) and Blackburn Rovers (a), sending off Fabio in the Carling Cup and Nani at Villa Park. Could be an eventful afternoon…

Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd

Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd
FULHAM V MANCHESTER UNITED: RIO FERDINAND NEARS COMEBACK
-dailyexpress.co.uk- Fulham v Manchester United, Sunday, 22 August 2010, 16:00 Manchester United boss Alex Ferguson has revealed he expects Rio Ferdinand to be back in action by the end of September. Ferdinand suffered medial ligament damage on the first day of World Cup training in South Africa following a freak accident involving Emile Heskey. There were initial suggestions from Manchester United that the 31-year-old would be back for the new season. However, United pushed that deadline back and Ferguson confirmed the England skipper remains on schedule. “We are still thinking the end of September for Rio,” said the United boss. “It was a medial ligament problem rather than a cruciate, so the recovery time is exactly what we thought. “It was a freak. It is nothing to do with his back. We just had to treat it the proper way. These things are never easy.” It seems midfielder Anderson is much nearer a comeback after returning to training yesterday. The 22-year-old did suffer a cruciate ligament injury in February that ended his season and wrecked his hopes of appearing at the World Cup for Brazil. However, while a comeback for Sunday’s trip to Fulham is out of the question, the former Porto man may be in contention for a first-team spot immediately after the next international break. Ferguson reported a clean bill of health from Monday’s opening-day triumph over Newcastle, with Patrice Evra showing no ill-effects following a collision with an advertising hoarding late in the 3-0 win. The United boss also feels an extra week’s training will prove beneficial for the likes of Michael Owen and Michael Carrick, neither of whom were involved against the Magpies. “It was difficult picking a squad on Monday because some players had not had a lot of time on the pitch,” said Ferguson. “They weren’t at their proper match fitness but with an extra week’s training behind them, they should be much better.” |

Re: [EPL] Fulham vs Man Utd
Fulham v United : Preview
-menmedia.co.uk- Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferugson is primed to make changes for the clash at Fulham on Monday. And the Reds boss is hoping for better fortunes at Craven Cottage after two successive defeats there in the Premier League. Last season, in a pre-Christmas fixture in the depths of the worst defensive injury crisis Ferguson had ever known, Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher and Ritchie de Laet formed a United back three that clung on for 20 minutes but eventually subsided to a three-goal defeat. The previous season, Paul Scholes and Rooney were both sent off in another United loss, so Ferguson accepts there is plenty of room for improvement. "We have had a topsy-turvy time on the last two occasions we have been to Fulham," he admitted. "We had nine men two years ago and last season we had gone just too far with the injuries. "It was a fragile team, with players playing out of position and the regular defenders all missing. "In that situation, when you lose a goal it becomes very difficult, which is exactly what happened." United's only injuries at the present time are long-term ones. Yet there is even good news on that front as Anderson returned to training after recovering from a cruciate knee ligament injury suffered in February, while Rio Ferdinand is set to be back in action at the end of September after the medial ligament damage he sustained in that freak collision with Emile Heskey at the start of World Cup training in South Africa. It means Ferdinand will play no part in the first two Euro 2012 qualifiers next month, or the opening two Champions League matches, which fall either side of Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford on September 19. Ferguson view The 31-year-old has long since been ruled out of the Fulham trip as Ferguson goes head-to-head with Mark Hughes, a man he feels is perfect for the Cottagers post Roy Hodgson. "Mark's experience at Blackburn makes him ideal for Fulham," said the United chief. "They are similar-sized clubs, although what happened to Fulham last season won't happen again. "What they did, with such a small squad, was almost a miracle. "They played 63 matches, starting in July and ended up at the Europa League final in Hamburg. It was quite phenomenal." Ahead of the match Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger took time out to praise Paul Scholes, although he did voice concern about one area of the midfielders game. Wenger said: "I believe Paul Scholes is still one of the greatest football players in England. "His contribution to the success of Manchester United is absolutely huge. The regret I have personally is that he was not always the fairest player." Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer remains a doubt for Sunday's Barclays Premier League clash with Manchester United. Schwarzer missed training today because of the back problem which prevented him playing against Bolton last weekend but boss Mark Hughes is hopeful he will be available to face Sir Alex Ferguson's side. Long-term injury victims Philippe Senderos (Achilles), Andrew Johnson (knee) and Diomansy Kamara (foot) are out. Fulham (from): Schwarzer, Stockdale, Zuberbuhler, Kelly, Konchesky, Pantsil, Baird, Hangeland, Hughes, Stoor, Gera, Murphy, Duff, Riise, Etuhu, Dempsey, Milson, Greening, Davies, Dikgacoi, E Johnson, Zamora, Elm. Manchester United (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, O'Shea, Neville, Rafael, Vidic, Brown, Evans, Smalling, Evra, Fabio, Valencia, Nani, Cleverley, Gibson, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher, Park, Giggs, Rooney, Owen, Berbatov, Hernandez. Key opponent: Bobby Zamora - gets a bad press but an effective operator Prediction : |
