Manchester United came from behind to beat Arsenal 3-2 in their final game before incoming interim manager Ralf Rangnick gets to work at Old Trafford.

Arsenal took the lead in bizarre fashion at Old Trafford when Emile Smith Rowe struck past a hapless David De Gea who was down on the ground after team-mate Fred trod on his foot.

But Cristiano Ronaldo was there to make the difference once again in what was Michael Carrick's final game in temporary charge, scoring a brace while Bruno Fernandes got in on the act.

Sportsmail's Chris Wheeler has rated how the players performed during the Premier League clash on Thursday evening.

MAN UTD (4-2-3-1)

DAVID DE GEA 6 – Did he have to go down like that? Could have been stronger and spared everyone – including Rangnick – a lot of confusion.

DIOGO DALOT 6.5 – Impressed on his first league start of the season and played a key role in the build-up to United’s second goal.

VICTOR LINDELOF 6 – Didn’t do much wrong but Rangnick knows that tightening up at the back has to be his first priority.

HARRY MAGUIRE 6.5 – Keen to make an impact after suspension and it showed with two shots from distance in the first half.

ALEX TELLES 5 – Caught out of position several times, including Arsenal’s second goal. Poor attempt to win a penalty in the first half.

SCOTT MCTOMINAY 7 – Another non-stop display – just the kind the new manager will be looking for – after another first-half booking.

FRED 7 – Been playing higher up the pitch under Carrick and his runs into the box led to the second and third goals.

JADON SANCHO 6 – Had a hand in the first goal but Rangnick knows from his time in Germany that Sancho still has more to give.

BRUNO FERNANDES 7 – Chose a good moment to end his goal famine, scoring for the first time in 16 games to put United level.
