Re: [EPL] Manchester United vs Leeds United
Manchester United unveil plans for 2,000 supporters to return to Old Trafford for clash against Leeds... with Government review of current restrictions due four days beforehand
* Manchester United believe they can safely accommodate 23,500 supporters * A limit of 2,000 fans has been set for tier two areas and 4,000 for tier one * The plans seek to allow fans into the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and Stretford End * United will play in front of fans for the first time this league season at West Ham Manchester United have revealed provisional plans for the return of 2,000 fans to Old Trafford in time for the clash with Leeds before Christmas if Greater Manchester comes out of tier three. A Government review of the restrictions is due four days before United face their old rivals on December 20, and the club have plans in place to welcome back supporters for the first time since the Manchester derby in early March. Although United believe they can safely accommodate 23,500 fans adhering to social distancing, the 2,000 limit has been set for tier two areas and 4,000 for tier one. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will play in front of fans for the first time in the Premier League this season at West Ham on Saturday. Manchester United have revealed provisional plans for the return of 2,000 fans to Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side will play in front of fans for the first time this season at West Ham Under the provisional plans announced on Friday, fans will be allowed into the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and Stretford End, with wheelchair positions also available in the East Stand. Most tickets will go to season-ticket holders and the rest into a random ballot on a match-by-match basis. Fans will be able to apply individually or in groups of two. Ticket prices are lower than normal, priced at £30 for adults, £15 for Under 20s and over 65s, and £10 for children. A club statement read: 'Fans who apply will be asked to agree to a new code of conduct, which encourages respectful behaviour and social distancing, and includes the practical rules that will be applied at Old Trafford to ensure the safest possible environment for everyone.' United's chief operating officer Collette Roche added: 'It is important to present these conditional plans for the return of our fans to allow preparations to be made. United hope to see 2,000 fans at Old Trafford for the game against Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds. The plans seek to welcome back supporters for the first time since March's Manchester derby. Fans will be allowed into the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand and Stretford End (pictured) in the plans 'We are eager to welcome them back and thank them in advance for their patience and co-operation with our new operating policies that are in place to keep everyone safe. 'Responsible behaviour will help build trust and confidence, helping us move back to greater capacity numbers in the future once Manchester's restrictions are reduced. 'We know we are asking a lot from our fans in terms of the adjustments to their usual match day routines. In return, we are committed to making the experience as safe as possible for them and their families and have also kept ticket prices low. 'A word of caution: fans must consider their own health before applying for any provisional ballots and pay attention to the local restrictions which are in place wherever they live. They should also carefully read all the detailed information which we will be sending to those who are successful in future ballots. 'We also thank the ongoing support of Trafford Council, our local suppliers and staff who have worked hard to develop these plans.' Code:
