Manchester - Dari Old Trafford berhembus kabar bahwa Wayne Rooney akan segera angkat kaki. Namun, Rooney dikabarkan bukan satu-satunya pemain yang bakal hengkang dari sana.

Kabar bakal dilegonya Rooney muncul setelah Manchester United diberitakan memiliki utang yang cukup besar. Laporan terakhir menyebut kalau total utang 'Setan Merah' saat ini mencapai jumlah 509,5 juta poundsterling (Rp 7,5 triliun), sementara Keluarga Glazer juga masih berutang 202 juta poundsterling (Rp 2,9 triliun), uang yang digunakan untuk membeli MU.

MU memang kemudian mereguk keuntungan sebesar 48,2 juta poundsterling (sekitar Rp 709,9 miliar). Namun itu terjadi karena mereka menjual Cristiano Ronaldo ke Madrid dengan harga 80 juta poundsterling (Rp 1,178 triliun). Wajar kalau langkah serupa akan dilakukan kepada Rooney yang harganya dikabarkan mencapai 70 juta poundsterling (Rp 1,031 triliun).

Belum usai isu mengenai Rooney, MU dikabarkan akan ditinggalkan beberapa orang pemainnya lagi. Mereka yang dimaksud adalah Dimitar Berbatov, Anderson, Nani, Zoran Tosic dan Nemanja Vidic. Terkecuali Tosic, tiga pemain lainnya adalah para pemain reguler yang biasa masuk ke dalam skuad inti.

Berbatov diisukan bakal dijual lantaran performanya tak pernah benar-benar "wah". Padahal ia dibeli mahal dengan harga 30,75 juta pounds (sekitar Rp 459 miliar) dari Tottenham Hotspur. Sementara Anderson dan Nani dinilai tak berkembang seperti yang diharapkan. Bagaimana dengan Vidic? Bek asal Serbia ini sudah lama diminati banyak klub besar.

"Ada empat gelandang yang mendapatkan kritik setelah pertandingan melawan Leeds, tetapi yang paling buruk permainannya adalah Berbatov," ujar salah seorang sumber di Old Trafford kepada Mirror Football.

"Orang-orang bilang dia memiliki bakat yang hebat, hal itu memang tak diragukan. Namun, di sini sepakbola butuh rasa lapar dan kerja keras," lanjut sang sumber.

gw ga tega sebenarnya liat pemain2 muda MU pada pergi, seperti Nani, Ando dan Tosic. Nani waktu lawan arsenal permainannya sangat meyakinkan, mungkin stelah diberikan wejangan sama SAF dia jadi berubah dan kembali kepada kepercayaan dirinya. Ando masih yang terbaik menurut gw dengan tenaganya yang luar biasa, Tosic perlu dikasih banyak kesempatan aja. Nah kalau berba kayaknya gw setuju aja kalau dilepas kan udah ada Mame Diouf tuh

Ferguson set to axe players

Sir Alex Ferguson has announced plans to allow "one or two" players to leave Manchester United at the end of the season to freshen up the squad.

United look set to miss out on a fourth consecutive Premier League title as they go into the final weekend a point behind Chelsea, and their Champions League hopes ended with a quarter-final exit to Bayern Munich.

Many believe United need to add new options in attack, with Dimitar Berbatov in particular coming under fire. Ferguson has repeatedly defended the £30.75 million signing from Tottenham, but he was unhappy with his team's "careless" finishing at Sunderland this weekend and added: "Dimitar could have scored four."

Ferguson has not named any of the players he expects to move on this summer but Berbatov and goalkeeper Ben Foster appear to be among the candidates as the manager attempts to freshen up his team.

"You have to take a decision about where we can improve the team," he told MUTV. "When you are challenging for four trophies, it can have a draining effect.

"You have to be aware of that and spot the moment when it is time to freshen up one or two players. It is not a desire to do it but you need to do it because the demands and pressures on players can, over time, be quite exacting."

Ferguson believes, however, that there is already a wealth of young talent available for next season and suggested that major changes will not be necessary.

"People don't recognise that we've signed three players for £20 million already," he said. "Young Chris Smalling from Fulham has signed for us, Mame Diouf has done well, and Javier Hernandez from Mexico will join us after the World Cup.

"Those are three young players whose futures are guaranteed at this club. There are others who come into that bracket like Jonny Evans, Federico Macheda, Gabriel Obertan, Danny Welbeck and Darron Gibson, so we have a good nucleus and foundation of players who can carry the club for a long time."

Ferguson's comments come after United chief executive David Gill's confirmation that they are already in the process of planning further arrivals.

"I can look you in the eye and tell you straight that we have the transfer funds available to the manager," he told the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association magazine. "Targets have been discussed already, but it's not our style to talk about names and it never will be."

Ben Foster has confirmed that he expects to leave Manchester United this summer as he attempts to revive his career.

Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed he plans to allow one or two senior players to leave Old Trafford this summer, and Foster, 27, appears to be among the candidates.

The goalkeeper had been expected to challenge Edwin van der Sar and Tomasz Kuszczak for a place in the starting line-up but, following some disappointing early season form, he admits he now needs to find regular football elsewhere.

"You never want to leave Manchester United," he told the Manchester Evening News. [b]"If you leave this club you are only ever going to go down, but I want to be playing football.

"I am not interested in just hanging around and I would go if the club wanted to sell me. If they are happy to accept a bid then you have to read between the lines and realise you are not really needed and move on. It would not be the end of the world for me."[/b

Many tipped Foster to establish himself as first-choice in the England squad ahead of this summer's World Cup, but he accepts there is little prospect of a call-up given his recent lack of match action.

"I don't think there is any chance of South Africa now," he said. "If he were to pick me it would be very unfair on some of the other goalkeepers.

"I have not played a first-team game for a good few months and some of the English lads out there like Joe Hart and Robert Green have been doing fantastic."
