STATS: United’s Hardest Working Players
STATS: United's Hardest Working Players
RoM - December 24, 2012 For those who have played the equivalent of five games in the league, this is the ranking of how much distance they've covered minute on the pitch: 1. Rooney 2. Carrick 3. Van Persie 4. Cleverley 5. Scholes 6. Young 7. Welbeck 8. Evans 9. Rafael 10. Hernandez 11. Evra 12. Valencia 13. Vidic 14. Smalling 15. Ferdinand. When you look at those who have played less than five games, it's interesting to note that Shinji Kagawa covered, on average, 116.73m per minute he was on the pitch, even outworking Rooney! (Nani 107.41m, Anderson 107.21m and Giggs 107.01m) |

Ngga heran sih duo wing back Rafael - Evra secara full back adalah sumber kekuatan lini sayap kita di tengah masih maruk nya permainan wunger2 kita..
Persie gila juga yah sepintas dia keliatan cool aja gak kayak Rooney yg keliatan liar nya.. Carrick gak heran lagi, our indispensable midfielder

Re: STATS: United’s Hardest Working Players
Manchester United's Strikers: Their Season in Numbers
In an era when trequartistas and inside forwards have been in vogue, very few teams have the amount of quality strikers that Manchester United possess. While Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck are versatile, those two along with poacher Javier Hernandez and the extraordinary Robin van Persie give Manchester United four top-class strikers. They've proven that 4-4-2 is still a viable system for a title-chasing club. In the Premier League, the fantastic four have delivered 34 goals between them, pushing United to the top of the table. All four have had important roles to play, while not losing their cool when they've had to spend time on the substitute bench. While they haven't quite hit the heights of Cole, Yorke, Sheringham and Solskjaer yet, Rooney, van Persie, Hernandez and Welbeck are well on their way to securing their place in United folklore. Let's have a closer look at each striker's statistics and how we rate their season to date. Danny Welbeck When Robin van Persie arrived at Old Trafford during the summer, many believed Welbeck would be relegated to the role of bit-part player this term, but Sir Alex Ferguson has shown faith in the England international, starting him in important games against Liverpool and Spurs. Welbeck's Premier League statistics aren't the most impressive. He's only managed one league goal, against Stoke City, in nine starts and eight appearances off the bench this season. In fact, he has only converted 25 percent of his clear-cut chances and only managed five shots on target. But to judge Welbeck on stats alone would be to do him a massive disservice. Welbeck's pace and energy tires defenders and creates space for others. If he can add goals to his repertoire in the second half of the season, he will become a key player in big games. 6/10 Wayne Rooney While he has struggled for fitness this season, Wayne Rooney is still a huge player for Manchester United. When he's been fit, Rooney has played in a number of positions, but he and United have been at their best when he is partnered up front with Robin van Persie. Rooney has hit seven Premier League goals this term in 12 starts and three substitute appearances. He's converted a quarter of his clear-cut chances and hit the target on 23 occasions. If Rooney can remain fit in the second half of the season, more league goals will surely follow. 7/10 Javier Hernandez It seems incredible, but Javier Hernandez has only started five Premier League for Manchester United this season. The Mexican striker must be wondering what he has to do to prove to Sir Alex Ferguson that he's worthy of a regular starting berth. In five starts and eight substitute appearances, Hernandez has scored eight Premier League goals. He's converted half of his clear-cut chances and hit the target 16 times. Hernandez's problem is that, unlike Welbeck, when he's not scoring he doesn't offer his team an awful lot else. But with eight EPL goals already, is that really that important? 8/10 Robin Van Persie It's hard to put into words just how good Robin van Persie has been for Manchester United. When he arrived at Old Trafford in the summer, everybody knew United had landed a world-class player, but nobody could have predicted just how lethal he would be. In 23 appearances this season, of which 20 have been starts, he has scored an incredible 18 goals, from 37 shots on target. He's only converted 39 percent of his clear-cut chances, but really all that shows is just how often he has found himself in goal-scoring positions. There is no doubt van Persie is now the main man at Old Trafford—the question is which one of the other three forwards will partner him during the Premier League run-in. 10/10 Code:

Re: STATS: United’s Hardest Working Players
Unsung Heroes Who Are Indispensable
While the influence of the likes of Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney cannot be overstated enough at Manchester United, there are also a select few professionals who are extremely pivotal to the squad. These underrated, consummate professionals go about their job passionately, giving nothing short of 100 percent, yet are continuously overlooked. On the global scale, no player is as exemplified as the unsung hero than Claude Makalele. Recently, Scott Parker and Sergio Busquets have been forced into the limelight on account of their extraordinary abilities. At Manchester United too, there are some players who are equally integral to the team as Rooney and Van Persie. Michael Carrick Until last season, he was the Old Trafford fans’ favourite Red Devil to cast their scorn upon. To most, he was simply an average player capable of passing only backwards and sideways. He was criticized of slowing the game down, offering next-to-nothing defensively and unlike in the mould of illustrious midfielders like Xabi Alonso or Xavi. However, the Englishman has slowly won the crowd over in his favour. His presence has been applauded greatly this season, and most fans have come around and realized the immensity that is Michael Carrick. Carrick’s defensive abilities are absolutely superb—he closes space down well, tracks back frequently and can tackle cleanly (unlike Paul Scholes who couldn’t tackle to save his life). He has great positioning and does not burst forward unnecessarily; hence, he provides opportunities for full-backs like Rafael and Patrice Evra to join the offensive. Furthermore, his distribution is absolutely impeccable and he quickly moves into open spaces to provide an outlet. Sir Alex recently proclaimed: Quote:
Name-------------Team----------Average Passes Xavi-------------Barcelona------------102.3 Sergio Busquets--Barcelona-------------87.6 Mikel Arteta------Arsenal---------------85.1 Yaya Toure----Manchester City---------82.5 Andrea Pirlo------Juventus--------------81.5 Michael Carrick-Manchester United-------80.1 Speaking to The Telegraph, Sir Alex hailed Carrick as the lynchpin of United. Quote:
With Chris Smalling and Phil Jones both sidelined with injuries at the start of the season, Rafael was bestowed with the opportunity to feature as the first-choice right-back. Needless to say, he has been exceptional at the role. Often guilty last season of bursting forward too often and failing to track back properly, Rafael has improved tremendously and looks composed and assured for the most part. Last season, he combined exceptionally well with Antonio Valencia, providing the Ecuadorian with space on the right flank by doubling with him and exchanging quick passes. However, this season Valencia has not been as impressive as last season, but Rafael, on the other hand, has shown his ability to combine well with other players as well. Despite the formation changes in midfield, Rafael has remained consistent and provided a strong channel for offensive build-up also. Sir Alex hailed his performances this season, stating: Quote:
Quote:
Blamed viciously by fans for the 6-1 drubbing by Manchester City, Evans was never a fan favourite and was constantly held liable for any defensive lapses. Only after the injury of Nemanja Vidic did people start considering Jonny Evans as a commanding prospect at central-defence. After Vidic’s injury, Evans slotted in perfectly and provided consistent performances and formed a stable partnership with Rio Ferdinand. Sir Alex Ferguson has heaped praise upon the Northern Irishman, proclaiming: Quote:
Quote:
s Hernandez an underrated player or an overrated one? It usually depends on the people you pose the question towards. To me, he is a massively underrated player. A classic poacher, Hernandez plays on the shoulder of the last defender, and despite not being as well-rounded as his illustrious compatriots in Rooney and Van Persie, he scores goals. And by the plentiful. Despite Sir Alex Ferguson not employing his favoured 4-4-2 which would have allowed two strikers to operate centrally, Hernandez has found playing time on account of his impressive goal scoring ability. With already 12 goals and two assists to his name, Chicarito is quickly establishing himself and presenting Sir Alex a hard time with his selection policy. Ferguson has indeed admitted that the Mexican presents him with a “terrible” selection dilemma. Quote:
