Reds in Euro 2012 action The Reds will have more players in international action on Tuesday night as the Euro 2012 qualifiers continue. Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Phil Jones and Tom Cleverley will all be aiming to help England edge a step closer to qualification when they take on Wales at Wembley. Capello's men recorded a 3-0 win in Bulgaria on Friday night, thanks to Gary Cahill and a Rooney double and a victory over Wales would put England on the verge of booking their place in Poland and the Ukraine next summer. Darren Fletcher is set to skipper Scotland again in their qualifier against Lithuania at Hampden Park. The Scots were dealt a huge blow to their Euro 2012 prospects after losing a later equaliser to the Czech Republic on Saturday, but Fletch and co. won't go down without a fight. Meanwhile, Jonny Evans will travel with Northern Ireland, who face an uphill struggle to qualify for a play-off place, to Tallinn for the clash with Estonia, while Patrice Evra will be in Romania with in-form France and goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is in the Denmark squad who will play Norway in Copenhagen. |

Young boosts England Two United midfielders had contrasting first halves with their countries on Tuesday night as the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign continued. While Ashley Young scored the only goal of England's game against Wales at Wembley in the 35th minute, Darren Fletcher missed a penalty just before the break in Scotland's must-win home match with Lithuania. Fortunately for Fletcher, Steven Naismith netted for his side five minutes after the restart to ultimately give the Scots the same slender victory as England - 1-0. The two nations are in very different positions in terms of qualifying for next summer's European Championship finals, however. After beating Wales, England are top of Group G by six points and can confirm a place in Poland and Ukraine with a draw away to Montenegro in October. Scotland lie third in Group I, ten points behind the leaders Spain and two adrift of Czech Republic who are favourites to reach the play-offs. Like Fletcher, Young and new England right-back Chris Smalling both completed a full 90 on Tuesday night, with Wayne Rooney falling just short when he was replaced by Andy Carroll in the 89th minute. Young admitted it wasn't the most fluid of displays by his team, telling ITV after the match: "I'm not sure what it was but we just couldn't get going in the second half. But while the performance wasn't great, we've done what we set out to do, to win. "We've got another tough game to come now, Montenegro away, so we've got to prepare well for that and keep everyone fit. If we put in a good performance there, I'm sure we can come away with three points." Patrice Evra also played from start to finish, in France's frustrating 0-0 away draw with Romania in Group D. It was still a useful reconnaissance mission for the United left-back - the Reds are due to play Otelul Galati in the Champions League at the same national stadium in Bucharest on 18 October. Sadly, Northern Ireland's bid to reach the Euro 2012 finals is over. Missing players like the suspended United defender Jonny Evans, they suffered a heavy defeat - 4-1 - in Estonia.

Amos makes Under-21 debut United keeper Ben Amos made his England Under-21 debut in Monday night's 4-1 victory against Israel. The step up was a natural progression for the young shot-stopper, who has represented his country at Under-16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 level. After being in Stuart Pearce's squad for the matches with Iceland and Azerbaijan, he was handed a start at Barnsley's Oakwell ahead of Birmingham's Jack Butland. Although the hosts fell behind to a Mohammad Klibat strike on the break, they recovered to register a convincing triumph in the friendly with Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain providing three assists. United also have England's current Under-19 keeper in the shape of Sam Johnstone. Quote:

>> Tim Muda Sukses, Sir Alex Ferguson Terkejut <<

- Jonny Evans is in Northern Ireland's squad for the Euro 2012 qualifiers against Estonia and Italy, although he picked up an injury ahead of the weekend clash with Stoke. - Larnell Cole and Will Keane are in the England Under-19 squad for a four-team tournament in Limoges next month. Congratulations to them both. ( |

Well done to Ben Amos, Phil Jones and Danny Welbeck, who are all in Stuart Pearce's England Under-21 squad for the games against Iceland and Norway.
