gueee, bukan gak percaya sama moyes...

David Moyes Is Right to Be Satisfied with Champions League Result

Manchester United fans are not too happy with the club's performance as of late, but the latest draw against Shakhtar Donetsk is nothing to be ashamed about.

Manager David Moyes had this to say after the 1-1 result in Donbass Arena:

Quote:
It was a good point in the Champions League coming here, they've got a great record against English teams here. The team stood up well tonight, they got a good goal early doors and I thought we looked as if we were going to stop them scoring; we defended very well.
After a terrible start to the Premier League season, fans are starting to lose faith in the new manager. Last year's champions are currently 12th in the table thanks to only two wins and one draw in six matches.

The club's last two league matches were particularly embarrassing. A blowout 4-1 loss to Manchester City was followed by a home loss to West Brom as one of the lowest points in Old Trafford in a long time.

It would be understandable for Moyes to claim a draw as a good thing to make himself look better. However, that's not what's happening in this case.

United entered an imposing environment Wednesday and saw some success where few others have seen any. Fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Chelsea have lost at Donbass Arena in Champions League play since 2010.

Even Borussia Dortmund could only force a draw last season en route to its appearance in the tournament final.

To make things tougher, Manchester United was shorthanded without two of its most productive players on the roster. Wayne Rooney—who had two goals and an assist in the last UCL match—was out with a shin injury. Rio Ferdinand was also left off the roster due to a groin injury.

Still, the club found a way to earn a point on the road.

With the win, United remains tied with the Ukrainian club on top of the Group A table. They have already beaten Bayer Leverkusen, and Real Sociedad has struggled to two losses in as many matches.

If Moyes' club can avoid a letdown, it will stay in great position to finish among the top two in the group and advance to the knockout stage. The squad would likely be able to win the group if it can get a win against Shakhtar when they come to Old Trafford on Dec. 10.

In reality, the draw was an important one and was not easy to earn. Danny Welbeck was among those who were proud of the effort:

Quote:
Manchester United ✔
@ManUtd
Welbeck reaction: "In the end it was a decent result, we got the goal and went ahead early, and
While things have not gone according to plan in EPL play, United can be satisfied about how things are going in Champions League.

6 Things We Learned from the Shakhtar Donetsk Game

It could have been better for Manchester United on their trip to the Ukraine, but it could have been so much worse. Having managed just one shot on target in Wednesday's game, the visitors will have been happy enough to return to Old Trafford with a point.

United produced a professional European display in the first half and looked good value for their lead. They defended deep but looked in little danger of conceding. Unfortunately for them, Shakhtar Donetsk equalised with 14 minutes remaining.

Here are six things we learned from United's draw:

1. Danny Welbeck deserves his place in the team

Welbeck splits opinion like very few United players.

There are those who adore the local lad and refuse to accept that even his lack of goals last season was anything like a problem. Then there are those supporters who criticise him for his profligacy in front of goal and suggest he's only in the team by virtue of being Mancunian.

The fact is Welbeck is a very good player. Anyone who has ever had the pleasure or actually watching him in the flesh will be in little doubt about his abilities. His tireless running and tremendous work rate cannot be underestimated.

On the opening day of the season, Welbeck scored a brace at Swansea. On Wednesday night, he scored from United's one and only shot on goal. It looks as though Welbeck has worked on his finishing over the summer. Underestimate the man at your peril.

2. Marouane Fellaini needs to improve

After the humiliation of the 4-1 drubbing at the Etihad, this was another disappointing night for the Belgian international.

Fellaini was bought for nights like this: Difficult away games in front of intimidating crowds where strength is crucial. Unfortunately, he cut a forlorn figure and was reduced to giving away needless free-kicks time and again.

With the paucity of options in the centre of the pitch, Fellaini is in little danger of losing his place. But he needs to start justifying his fee sooner rather than later.

3. Shinji Kagawa should start more regularly

How obvious must it become before David Moyes realises it is time to field Kagawa?

This is a United side desperately in need of some creativity in midfield. There was widespread condemnation of the club when it emerged they had refused to put in an offer for Mesut Ozil but Kagawa, though not quite up to the standard of the German star, is still a wonderful player.

On Wednesday, United managed only one shot on target in a Champions League game for only the third time since 2006. It is vital they create more chances and there is a man sitting on the bench with the capacity to make things happen.

4. David Moyes deserves some credit

Those are not words that have been particularly forthcoming during his time at the Old Trafford helm, but Moyes steadied the ship on Wednesday night and averted further talk of a crisis in Manchester.

The manager set out his team to nick a goal and then defend in numbers. The plan worked perfectly in the first half and United rarely looked troubled despite the intimidating nature of the surroundings.

Shakhtar hardly threatened after the break either, and Moyes was unlucky not to hang on for his first away win in the Champions League.

5. Wayne Rooney has been reinvigorated by the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson

So much was written about Rooney over the summer and it seemed almost certain he'd be leaving Old Trafford for pastures new.

Plenty of United fans were actively willing the striker to leave after it emerged his heart was no longer in it. Instead, in his first decisive moment as United boss, Moyes refused to sell and hung on to the England star.

On Wednesday night, without an injured Rooney, United looked somewhat laboured in the forward positions. He seems to be one of the few players in a red shirt who feels liberated by the retirement of Ferguson and is producing his best football in years.

6. Chris Smalling is worthy of a run in the team

Rio Ferdinand has been written off more often than almost any other United player in living memory.

This time last season, after he was made to look foolish by Gareth Bale at Old Trafford, many believed the writing was on the wall for the defender.

On that occasion, Ferdinand answered his critics in style, but he has once again started the campaign looking as though he is no longer up to the job.

Smalling is a worthy replacement. He was excellent last week in the Capital One Cup against Liverpool and put in another solid display under difficult circumstances on Wednesday night. It remains to be seen whether Ferdinand can silence his doubters once more, but it is good to know that his understudy is more than capable of producing the goods.

porsi latihan yg diterapkan moyes menguras fisik pemain, makanya liat pas babak kedua udah kehabisan. permainan taison juga sangat cepat dan sangat-sangat merepotkan lini belakang United
